Coal combustion and gasification are the processes to utilize coal for production of electricity and many other applications. Global energy demand is increasing day by day. Coal is an abundant source of energy but not a reliable source as it results into high CO2 emissions. Energy industries are expected to decrease the CO2 emission to prevent global warming. Coal gasification is a process that reduces the CO2 emission and emerges as a clean coal technology. Coal gasification process is regulated by several operating parameters. A Number of investigations have been carried out in this direction. A critical review of the work done by several researchers in the field of coal gasification has been compiled in this paper. The effect of several operating parameters such as coal rank, temperature, pressure, porosity, reaction time and catalyst on gasification has been presented here.

The restructuring of the electric power market has led to complex power transmission congestion ***,scheduled power flows in the transmission line,as well as spontaneous power exchanges have also risen sharply in recent *** proper placement of IPFC can improve the transmission line congestion problem to a great *** paper proposes a disparity line utilization factor(DLUF)for the optimal placement of IPFC to control the congestion in transmission *** determines the difference between the percentages of Mega Volt Ampere utilization of each line connected to the same *** IPFC is placed in the lines with maximum DLUF.A multiobjective function consisting of reduction of active power loss,minimization of total voltage deviations,minimization of security margin and minimization of installed IPFC capacity is considered for the optimal tuning of IPFC using differential evolution *** proposed method is implemented for IEEE-30 bus test system under different loading conditions and the results are presented and analyzed to establish the effectiveness on the reduction of congestion.

The inflammatory response is a crucial physiological process that can lead to tissue damage and is considered a causative factor for various chronic diseases， such as rheumatoid arthritis. Recent research has focused on exploring valuable nutrients derived from Cannabis sativa L. (hemp) seeds， particularly hemp seed proteins. Therefore， this study aimed to investigate the release of anti-inflammatory peptides from Lactobacillus paraplantarum-fermented hemp seed proteins. To confirm the complete hydrolysis of hemp seed proteins during the fermentation process， SDS-PAGE was employed. Further， the isolation and purification of peptides were achieved through ultrafiltration. The identity of peptides was nextly established using ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with hybrid quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (UHPLC-QTOF-MS). The results revealed a total of 39 identified peptides in fermented hemp seeds， with 9 peptides selected based on their relative quantity. Notably， AAELIGVP (P1)， AAVPYPQ (P2)， VFPEVAP (P4)， DVIGVPLG (P6)， and PVPKVL (P9) demonstrated strong anti-inflammatory abilities in LPS-induced Raw 264.7 macrophage cells. Molecular docking was used to understand the potential anti-inflammatory mechanism of these five peptides， and in silico results indicated that P1， P2， P4， P6， and P9 could bind to the active sites of TLR-4， NF-kB， and IKK with higher binding energies. Overall， these findings indicate that hemp seeds have potential to be a source of bioactive peptides for functional foods with anti-inflammatory properties.

Background:Murrah buffalo is a breed of water buffalo(Bubalus bubalis)reared for milk and meat,especially in Northern *** are so many studies on the antimicrobial potential of the cow(Bos indicus)urine but buffalo urine has rarely been *** study was aimed to evaluate the antimicrobial activity in whole buffalo urine and its ***:Urine specimens were collected from seven Murrah buffalo heifers in the morning over three days from all seven heifers and distillated to prepare urine distillate(UD).The antimicrobial activity was determined through 96 well microplate method diluting(1:1)urine and UD in Mueller Hinton liquid medium against 919 microbial strains belonging to 148 species of 49 genera(Candia,11 genera of Gram+ve bacteria,37 genera of Gram-ve bacteria).The test strains were taken from the repository,revived and tested for purity before *** test strains were of clinical origin(372),environmental origin(496)and also from reference strain repositories(51).Results:Of the 919 test strains,a total of 57.89%and 56.04%of the tested strains were susceptible to UD and urine,*** was a no significant(p>0.4)difference in the antimicrobial activity of UD and urine against 919 strains of microbes,regardless of their genus,species,and Gram staining ***,there was no significant(p>0.4)difference between the susceptibility of bacterial and Candida strains to UD or ***,strains of clinical origin were more often resistant to buffalo UD and urine(p0.05).A significantly(p<0.01)higher proportion of reference strains was susceptible to UD and urine than microbial strains of clinical and environmental *** buffalo urine and UD,the most susceptible strains were Stenotrophomonas maltophilia(13/13)followed by Citrobacter freundii(8/10);Salmonella enterica ***(21/27),Geobacillus stearothermo

Background:Many herbal essential oils are potential antimicrobials but their pharmaceutical utility is restricted due to a lack of suitable excipients to mollify their dermatotoxicity and irritant property,and outcome of their therapeutic use may vary with different diluents ***:Effect of 16 diluents(dimethyl sulfoxide,liquid paraffin,glycerine,oils of mustard,sunflower,rice bran,palm,groundnut,olive,coconut,sesame,avocado,jojoba,castor,linseed and soybean)was assessed on antimicrobial activity of 2%cinnamon(Cinnamomum zelylanicum album),thyme(Thymus vulgaris)and ajowan(Trachyspermum ammi)oils using agar well diffusion *** effect of excipients was evaluated on six Candida albicans,five Escherichia coli,four Acinetobacter lwoffii,two strains each of Staphylococcus aureus,Enterobacter agglomerans,and Enterococcus faecium and one strain each of Acinetobacter calcoaceticus,Escherichia fergusonii,Klebsiella oxytoca,*** ***,Leclercia adecarboxylata,Paenibacillus amylolyticus,Proteus mirabilis,***,Pseudomonas aeruginosa,Raoultella terrigena,Staphylococcus capitis ***,***,***,*** and Streptococcus ***:Thyme oil(2%)maintained it antimicrobial activity on dilution in dimethyl sulfoxide and glycerine,and ajowan oil(2%)completely lost its antibacterial activity in all diluents except dimethyl ***,cinnamon oil partially lost its antimicrobial activity upon dilution in glycerine,vegetable,and mineral oils in comparison to dimethyl *** oil was the best vegetable oil,almost comparable to dimethyl sulfoxide and castor oil was the worst diluent for maintaining antimicrobial activity of cinnamon ***:The study indicated the non-suitability of vegetable oils for pharmaceutical formulations of essential oils except olive oil for dilution of cinnamon oil and glycerol for thyme oil to replace dimethyl sulfoxide as diluent.

Diabetic neuropathies are a family of nerve disorders caused by diabetes. Symptoms of the disease include nerve palsy, mononeuropathy, mononeuropathy multiplex, diabetic amyotrophy, painful polyneuropathy, autonomic neu- ropathy, and thoracoabdominal neuropathy. In this study, type 2 diabetes in rats was induced with nicotinamide- streptozotocin. Drug treatment was initiated on the d 15, with the combination regimen of metformin, pioglitazone and glimipiride or metformin and sitagliptin or sitagliptin, amitriptyline and sitagliptin and led to significantly im- proved glycemic control, increased grip strength and paw jumping response on d 21, 28 and 35 （P 〈 0.001）. Signif- icant increases in blood protein levels and decreases in urinary protein levels were observed in the animals treated with the different regimens on d 21, 28 and 35 （P 〈 0.001）. Combined treatment of streptozotocin and nicotinamide caused marked degeneration of nerve cells, while administration of metformin and sitagliptin showed tissue regen- eration and no body weight gain. In conclusion, treatment with sitagliptin and sitagliptin combined with metformin or amitriptyline results in no body weight gain, but causes an increase in grip strength and pain sensitivity, exhibits neural protection, and reverses the alteration of biochemical parameters in rats with streptozotocin-nicotinamide induced type 2 diabetes.
