Background: Central lymph node dissection (CLND) for papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) allows correct pathologic staging of lymph nodes and planning of postoperative management. The purpose of this study was to determine the number of the lymph nodes in the CLND and the relationship to presence of chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis (CLT) and thymic tissue (TT). Methods: Total thyroidectomy and CLND materials from 153 patients with PTC were included in this study. Two histopathologic features (presence of CLT and TT) were evaluated for their value in adequacy of CLND. Results: Histopathologic examination revealed CLT and TT in CLND materials in 70 (46%) and 63 (41%) patients, respectively. Total number of lymph nodes in CLND materials was significantly higher in CLT (+) and TT (+) groups (p Conclusions: Our study demonstrates that presence of CLT in thyroid gland has been associated with higher number of central lymph nodes mainly due to increased number of benign hyperplastic lymph nodes. It may be possible to conclude that upper limit of lymph nodes for satisfactory CLND would be higher to correctly evaluate central lymph node status in existing staging systems if specimens have CLT. Results of this study also show that the presence of TT in surgical materials may represent the adequacy of CLND.

This work falls within the general framework of the valorization of the clays of Ivory Coast in order to propose innovative solutions in the resolution of certain problems related to development such as the depollution of water. Its main objective is therefore to study the physico-chemical properties of two Dabou clays with a view to using them in chemical processes for the treatment of dyeing wastewater. The results of the chemical analysis and the ray diffraction showed that the DAB 1 and DAB 2 samples are clays of the kaolinitic type consisting mainly of kaolinite with 51.17% for DAB 1 against 65.81% for DAB 2 and quartz with respectively 41.76% and 25.8% for DAB 1 and DAB 2. They also contain relatively large amounts of goethite with 9.96% for DAB 1 and 12.8% for DAB 2. The specific surfaces measured in both samples are greater than 25 m2/g. All the results of the physico-chemical characterization, in particular the presence in significant quantity of clay minerals, the presence of iron compounds and the large specific surface area of both samples, allow the conclusion that they can be used in adsorption studies and in the heterogeneous Fenton process for water treatment.

An AZ31 HP magnesium alloy was laser beam welded in autogenous mode with AZ61 filler using Nd-YAG laser *** examination revealed that the laser beam weld metals obtained with or without filler material had an average grain size of about 12 μ*** microhardness and the tensile strength of the weldments were similar to those of the parent ***,the stress corrosion cracking （SCC） behaviour of both the weldments assessed by slow strain rate tensile （SSRT） tests in ASTM D1384 solution was found to be slightly inferior to that of the parent *** was observed that the stress corrosion cracks originated in the weld metal and propagated through the weld metal-HAZ regions in the autogenous *** the other hand,in the weldment obtained with AZ61 filler material,the crack initiation and propagation was in the HAZ *** localized damage of the magnesium hydroxide/oxide film formed on the surface of the specimens due to the exposure to the corrosive environment during the SSRT tests was found to be responsible for the SCC.

Introduction and Purpose: The problem of obesity has started to increase in children and adolescents, similar to adults, due to irregular and unhealthy diet, the limitation of physical activity and genetic factors. Various difficulties and complications may be encountered in the anesthesia management of obese patients. Difficult airway, difficulty in intravenous and intra-arterial intervention, difficulty in positioning the patient, difficulty in finding suitable equipment for the patient, intraoperative and postoperative pulmonary complications, prolonged recovery and difficulty in patient transport are the points to be considered in perioperative management. In our presentation, we wanted to discuss perioperative anesthesia management in adolescent bariatric surgery, which is not performed frequently, with a case study. Case Presentation: A 16-year-old girl with BMI of 44.4 was evaluated for bariatric surgery due to obesity. She had a history of hypertension, sleep apnea and insulin resistance. In her physical examination, her mouth opening was normal, her Mallampati score was 3, and her neck circumference was 43 cm. After the preoperative difficult intubation preparations were completed, the patient was monitored. The patient was preoxygenated with 100% oxygen for 3 minutes. The patient with comfortable mask ventilation was intubated with an appropriately sized endotracheal tube. Hemodynamics and oxygen saturation remained stable throughout the surgery. At the end of the surgery, she was extubated without any problem and transferred to the pediatric surgical intensive care unit. The patient was taken to the ward on the 2nd postoperative day and discharged on the 6th day. Discussion and Conclusion: The problem of obesity in adolescents is increasing today, and it is possible to struggle with obesity by making lifestyle changes, teaching children and parents about healthy nutrition, encouraging more physical activity and creating weight control

This paper investigates a previously-ignored atmospheric circulation anomaly-di- pole structure anomaly in the arctic atmosphere, and its relationship with the winter sea ice mo- tion, based on analyses of the International Arctic Buoy Programme Data (1979―1998) and datasets from the National Center for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) and the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) for the period of 1960―2002. The dipole structure anomaly is the second-leading mode of EOF of monthly mean SLP north of 70°N during the winter season (Oct.―Mar.), which accounts for 13% of the variance. One of its two anomaly centers is over the Canadian Archipelago; the other is situated over northern Eurasia and the Siberian marginal seas. Due to the dipole structure anomaly’s strong meridionality, it becomes an important mechanism to drive both anomalous sea ice export out of the Arctic Basin and cold air outbreaks into the Barents Sea, the Nordic Seas and northern Europe.
