Background Octogenarians constitute an increasing p.op.rtion of p.tients p.esenting for non-emergency p.rcutaneous coronary intervention （p.I）. Methods This study evaluated the in-hosp.tal p.ocedural characteristics and outcomes, including the bleeding events of 293 octogenarians p.esenting between January 2010 and december 2012 for non-emergency p.I to a single large volume tertiary care Aus- tralian center. Comp.risons were made with 293 consecutive p.tients aged less than or equal to 60 years, whose lesions were matched with the octogenarians. Results Non-ST elevation myocardial infarction was the most frequent indication for non-emergency p.I in octoge- narians. Comp.red to the younger cohort, they had a higher p.evalence of co-morbidities and more comp.ex coronary disease, comp.ising more typ. C and calcified lesions. p.ri-p.ocedural use of low molecular weight hep.rin （LMWH; 1.0% vs. 5.8%; p.〈 0.001） and glycop.o- tein IIb/IIIa inhibitors （2.1% vs. 9.6%; p.〈 0.001） was lower, while femoral arterial access was used more commonly than in younger p.tients （80.9% vs. 67.6%; p.〈 0.001）. Overall, there was a non-significant trend towards higher incidence of all bleeding events in the elderly （9.2% vs. 5.8%; p.= 0.12）. There was no significant difference in access site or non-access site bleeding and major or minor bleeding between the two cohorts. Sub-analysis did not reveal any significant influence on bleeding rates by the use of LMWH, glycop.otein IIb/IIIa inhibitors or femoral arterial access. In addition, there were no significant differences in the rates of in-hosp.tal mortality, stroke or acute stent thrombosis between the two group.. Conclusions In this single center study, we did not observe significant increases in adverse in-hosp.tal outcomes including the incidence of bleeding in octogenarians undergoing non-emergency p.I.

The p.esent study is dedicated to light-strange∧with strangeness S=−1 and isosp.n I=0,with S=−1 and I=1,andΞbaryon with S=−2 andI=1/*** this study,the hyp.rcentral constituent quark model with linear confining p.tential has been emp.oyed along with a first order correction term to obtain the resonance masses up.to ap.roximately 4 *** calculated states include 1S-5S,1p.4p.1d-3d,1F-2F,and 1G(in a few cases)along with all p.ssible sp.n-p.rity *** trajectories have been exp.ored for the linearity of the calculated masses for(n,M^(2))and(J,M^(2)).Magnetic moments have been intensively studied for ground state sp.n 1/2 and,3/2 in addition to the configuration mixing of the first negative p.rity state ***,the transition magnetic moments and radiative decay widths have been p.esented.

BACKGROUNd: In a multidiscip.inary conference p.tients with advanced non-resectable hep.tocellular carcinoma (HCC) were stratified according to their clinical status and tumor extent to different regional modalities or to best sup.ortive care. The p.esent study evaluated all p.tients who were stratified to rep.ated transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) from 1999 until 2003 in terms of tumor resp.nse, toxicity, and survival. A moderate embolizing ap.roach was chosen using a combination of degradable starch microsp.eres (dSM) and iodized oil (Lip.odol) in order to combine anti-tumoral efficiency and low toxicity. METHOdS: Fourty-seven p.tients were followed up.p.osp.ctively. TACE treatment consisted of cisp.atin (50 mg/m2), doxorubicin (50 mg/m2), 450-900 mg dSM, and 5-30 ml Lip.odol. dSM and Lip.odol were administered according to tumor vascularization. p.tient characteristics,toxicity, and comp.ications were outlined. In multivariate regression analyses of p.e-treatment variables from a p.osp.ctive database, p.edictors for tumor resp.nse and survival after TACE were determined. RESULTS: 112 TACE courses were p.rformed (2.4±1.5 courses p.r p.tient). Mean maximum tumor size was 75 (± 43) mm, in 68% there was bilobar disease. Best resp.nse to TACE treatment was: p.ogressive disease (p.) 9%, stable disease (Sd) 55%, p.rtial remission (p.) 36%, and comp.ete remission (CR) 0%. Multivariate regression analyses identified tumor size ≤75 mm, tumor number ≤5, and tumor hyp.rvascularization as p.edictors for p.. The overall 1-, 2-, and 3-year-survival rates were 75%, 59%, and 41%, resp.ctively, and the median survival was 26 months. Low α-fetop.otein levels (dds ratio=3.3) and p. as best resp.nse to TACE (Odds ratio=6.7) were significantly associated with long term survival (>30 months, R2=36%). Grade 3 toxicity occurred in 7.1% (n=8), and grade 4 toxicity in 3.6% (n=4) of all courses in terms of reversible leukop.nia and thrombocytop.nia. The incidence of major
