Lithium niobate (LiNbO3) fibers, obtained from the heat treatment of composite fibers (polymer/inorganic precursors), were successfully prepared by using the blow-spinning technique. A chemical solution containing Li and Nb ions, added to poly(vinyl pyrrolidone) solution, was used as precursor solution. The best condition for producing composite fibers was determined. The morphology of green and crystallized fibers was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and revealed fibrous structure with an average diameter around 800 nm. X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurement revealed a pure LiNbO3 (LN) phase formation. Detailed studies of dielectric response at various frequencies and temperatures exhibited a dielectric anomaly at 364 ℃. The electrical properties (impedance, modulus, and conductivity) of the fibers were studied using impedance spectroscopy technique. The contributions of grain and grain boundary effects were observed in the LN fibers. The activation energy of the composite fibers was found to be 1.5 eV in the high temperature region (325–400 ℃).

Management issues in post living donor liver transplant biliary strictures

Biliary complications are common after living donor liver transplant(LDLT) although with advancements in surgical understanding and techniques, the incidence is decreasing. Biliary strictures are more common than leaks. Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography(ERCP) is the first line modality of treatment of post LDLT biliary strictures with a technical success rate of 75%-80%. Most of ERCP failures are successfully treated by percutaneous transhepatic biliary drainage(PTBD) and rendezvous technique. A minority of patients may require surgical correction. ERCP for these strictures is technically more challenging than routine as well post deceased donor strictures. Biliary strictures may increase the morbidity of a liver transplant recipient, but the mortality is similar to those with or without strictures. Post transplant strictures are short segment and soft, requiring only a few session of ERCP before complete dilatation. Long-term outcome of patients with biliary stricture is similar to those without stricture. With the introduction of new generation cholangioscopes, ERCP success rate may increase, obviating the need for PTBD and surgery in these patients.

BACKGROUND:Around 60%to 80%of patients with periampullary carcinoma are unresectable either due to distant metastasis or local vascular *** the advancement of endoscopic interventional procedures,the role of surgical bypass has ***,surgical bypass is still appropriate in patients with unresectable disease discovered at the time of *** study was conducted to assess the results of palliative surgical bypass for patients with unresectable periampullary carcinoma at our hospital,a tertiary referral center of Northern India. METHOD:The study group comprised 204 patients who had undergone surgical bypass for advanced periampullary carcinoma over the last 15 years. The formation and dissociation of methane gas hydrate at an interface between synthetic seawater （SSW） and methane gas have been experimentally investigated in the present work. The amount of gas consumed during hydrate formation has been calculated using the real gas equation. Induction time for the formation of hydrate is found to depend on the degree of subcooling. All the experiments were conducted in quiescent system with initial cell pressure of 11.14 MPa. Salinity effects on the onset pressure and temperature of hydrate formation are also observed. The dissociation enthalpies of methane hydrate in synthetic seawater were determined by Clausius-Clapeyron equation based on the measured phase equilibrium data. The dissociation data have been analyzed by existing models and compared with the reported data.

This case study evaluates the seasonal variability of the Pearson's linear correlation coefficient of land surface temperature(LST)with some spectral indices like NDVI,NDWI,NDBI,and NDBaI by using a series of Landsat images for 1991-92,1995-96,1999-00,2004-05,2009-10,2014-15,and *** results from the average correlation of the entire period of all-season show that the LST builds a positive correlation with NDBI(0.71)and NDBaI(0.52)while it builds a negative correlation with NDVI(-0.44).The LST-NDWI correlation is *** best correlation is noticed in the post-monsoon period,while the least correlation is observed in the winter *** study can support the environmental planning to build a sustainable city under a similar environment.
