Areca catechu,is a species of palm belonging to the family of Arecaceae/Palmae,grows vertically,to the height of 10 m to 20 m,the stem is straight,solitary and slender,10 cm to 15 cm in diameter,with marks of annulated scars of fallen leaf *** fibres are predominantly extracted not only from the fruit as areca husk,but also from leaf stalks and *** this review paper,areca fibre is compared with those of other representative species of the Arecaceae/Palmae family,such as the coconut tree and the palm tree,in terms of physical and mechanical *** review article also discusses the physical,mechanical and thermal properties of areca fibre and its *** review of known published data reveals that,while areca fibre has the potential to be used as an alternative reinforcement in polymer ***,it has been also noticed that some other species from the family of Arecaceae/Palmae have not been explored as natural fibre reinforcement in polymer composites either,thus revealing further options of natural alternative reinforcement to be investigated with regard to their potential to be used in fibre based composites for the automotive,aerospace,and construction industries.

This research focused on the dynamic mechanical and thermal properties of woven mat jute/kenaf/jute(J/K/J)and kenaf/jute/kenaf(K/J/K)hybrid *** mechanical analysis(DMA)and Thermo-gravimetric Analysis(TGA)were used to study the effect of layering sequence on the thermal properties of kenaf/jute hybrid *** DMA results;it was found that the differences in the stacking sequence between the kenaf/jute composites do not affect their storage modulus,loss modulus and damping *** the TGA and DMA results,it has been shown that stacking sequence has given positive effect to the kenaf/jute hybrid composite compared to pure epoxy *** is because kenaf and jute fibre has increased the Tg values of the composites,thus affect the thermal *** showed that the storage modulus for kenaf/jute hybrid composites increased compared with pure epoxy composites with increasing temperature and the values of remained almost the same at glass transition temperature(Tg),the hybrid composite perhaps due to the improved fibre/matrix interface *** preliminary analysis could provide a new direction for the creation of a novel hybrid composite which offers unique properties which cannot be accomplished in a single material system.

Noninvasive gluoose monitoring development is critical for diabetic patient continuous ***,almost all the available devices are invasive and *** methods such as using spectroscopy have shown some good ***,the drawback was that the tungsten halogen lamps 1usage that is impractical if applied on human *** paper compared the light emitting diode(LED)to traditional tungsten halogen lamps as light source for glucose detection where the type of light source plays an important role in achieving a good spectrum *** concentration measurement has been developed as part of noninvasive technique using optical *** change and overlapping in tungsten halogen results need to replace it with a more convenient light source such as *** on the result obtained,the performance of LED for absorbance spectrum gives a signifcantly different and is directly proportional to the glucose *** result shows a linear trend and scucssully detects lowest at 60 to 160 mg/dL glucose concentration.

The fruits of the Sea buckthorn(Hippophae rhamnoides L.)are a popular plant food and a valuable health *** plants produces a lot of leaves with fine branches as an unnecessary residue,which needs *** aim of the study was to estimate(by HPLC-MS/MS)the qualitative and quantitative content of polyphenolic compounds in different parts of ***(HR),and to determine the level of antioxidant activity of leaves and fruits(by DPPH,ABTS methods and ferrozine test).Up to 19 compounds were identified in different parts of *** fruits are rich in flavonoids,including various glycosides of flavonols isorhamnetin,quercetin,and *** isorhamnetin glycosides were not identified in the leaves,while isorhamnetin-3-rhamnosylglactosides and the ellagitannins hippophaenin B,stachyurin and casuarinin were present only in the leaves of the *** bark and roots contained considerably more catechins,but minimal flavonols than the fruits and leaves of *** total phenolics and flavonols were most abundant in water infusions from leaves of HR(especially quercetin-3-O-glucoside-7-O-rhamnoside),compared to methanolic *** significant differences in the quantitative and qualitative content of the fresh and dried leaves were *** highest antioxidant activity by all three methods was detected in the leaves of *** addition to the fruits,the leaves may have a perspective as a source of biologically active substances of HR.

Infrared Spectroscopy-Based Chemometric Analysis for Lard Differentiation in Meat Samples

One of the most pressing concerns for the consumer market is the detection of adulteration in meat products due to their *** rapid and accurate identification mechanism for lard adulteration in meat products is highly necessary,for developing a mechanism trusted by consumers and that can be used to make a definitive *** Transform Infrared Spectroscopy(FTIR)is used in this work to identify lard adulteration in cow,lamb,and chicken samples.A simplified extraction method was implied to obtain the lipids from pure and adulterated *** samples were obtained by mixing lard with chicken,lamb,and beef with different concentrations(10%–50%v/v).Principal component analysis(PCA)and partial least square(PLS)were used to develop a calibration model at 800–3500 cm^(−1).Three-dimension PCA was successfully used by dividing the spectrum in three regions to classify lard meat adulteration in chicken,lamb,and beef *** corresponding FTIR peaks for the lard have been observed at 1159.6,1743.4,2853.1,and 2922.5 cm−1,which differentiate chicken,lamb,and beef *** wavenumbers offer the highest determination coefficient R2 value of 0.846 and lowest root mean square error of calibration(RMSEC)and root mean square error prediction(RMSEP)with an accuracy of 84.6%.Even the tiniest fat adulteration up to 10%can be reliably discovered using this methodology.

We introduce a new family of classes of operators termed as *p-paranormal operator, classes *A(p,p);p > 0 and *A(p,q);p, q > 0, parallel to p-paranormal operator and classes A(p,p);p> 0 and A(p,q);p, q > 0 introduced by M. Fujii, D. Jung, S. H. Lee, M. Y. Lee and R. Nakamoto [1]. We present a necessary and sufficient condition for p-hyponormal operator T∈B(H)to be *p-paranormal and the monotonicity of *A(p,q). We also present an alternative proof of a result of M. Fujii, et al. [1, Theorem 3.4].

Long Range Wide Area Network (LoRaWAN) in the Internet ofThings (IoT) domain has been the subject of interest for researchers. Thereis an increasing demand to localize these IoT devices using LoRaWAN dueto the quickly growing number of IoT devices. LoRaWAN is well suited tosupport localization applications in IoTs due to its low power consumptionand long range. Multiple approaches have been proposed to solve the localizationproblem using LoRaWAN. The Expected Signal Power (ESP) basedtrilateration algorithm has the significant potential for localization becauseESP can identify the signal’s energy below the noise floor with no additionalhardware requirements and ease of implementation. This research articleoffers the technical evaluation of the trilateration technique, its efficiency,and its limitations for the localization using LoRa ESP in a large outdoorpopulated campus environment. Additionally, experimental evaluations areconducted to determine the effects of frequency hopping, outlier removal, andincreasing the number of gateways on localization accuracy. Results obtainedfrom the experiment show the importance of calculating the path loss exponentfor every frequency to circumvent the high localization error because ofthe frequency hopping, thus improving the localization performance withoutthe need of using only a single frequency.

背景脑电双频指数（bispectralindex，BIS）可监测患者在全麻状态下的意识水平。在不影响麻醉深度的情况下，有些因素可影响BIS数值。本实验目的在于观察改变患者体位是否对BIS值有影响。方法选取40例在全麻下行短小手术的患者。首先将患者置于平卧位（仰卧位）15分钟，记录BIS值、平均动脉压、心率、呼气末二氧化碳分压和呼气末异氟烷浓度。然后改变患者体位，将患者置于头低仰卧位（30°）。最后将患者置于头高仰卧位（30°）。每种体位保持15分钟并记录数据。结果与平卧位相比头低位的BIS值显著增高（中位数47VS40），而头高位的BIS值显著降低（39VS41）（P〈0．05）。结论患者体位的改变明显影响了BIS值，由此可影响对麻醉深度的判断。
