Objective To compare the clinical outcomes of open surgical peritoneal dialysis catheter （PDC） insertion with guide wire and the outcomes of PDC insertion without guide wire. Methods Data of the patients receiving open surgical Tenkchoff straight catheter insertion in our department from January 2005 to January 2011 were retrospectively analyzed. The 117 patients in whom PDC insertion was conducted with the guidance of guide wire were enrolled into group A, and the 121 cases receiving PDC insertion without guide wire were enrolled into group B. The incidences of post-operative complications （catheter obstruction, catheter displacement, bloody dialysate, and dialysate leakage）, catheter survival, and patient survival rates were compared between the 2 groups. Results The baseline characteristics （gender, age, body mass index, prothrombin time, activated partial thromboplastin time, platelet count, serum creatinine, follow-up time, primary diseases, and outcomes） of the 2 groups were comparable （all P〉0.05）. In post-operative complications, only the incidence of early bloody dialysate showed significant difference, being 16.2% in group A and 7.4% in group B （P=0.04）. Catheter and patient survival rates were not significantly different between the two groups. Overweight patients showed a higher incidence of catheter obstruction compared with normal weight patients [16.0% （4/25） vs. 3.3% （7/213）, P=0.02], but no differences in post-operative between the 2 groups. complications were found among overweight patients Conclusions Open surgical Tenkchoff straight catheter insertion without guide wire does not lead to higher risk of post-operative complications and catheter removal. It may be an alternative option when guide wire is not available.

aiM： To investigate whether continuous veno-venous hemofiltration （CVVH） in different filtration rate to eliminate cytokines would result in different efficiency in acute pancreatitis, whether the saturation time of filter membrane was related to different filtration rate, and whether the onset time of CWH could influence the survival of acute pancreatitis. METHODS： Thirty-seven patients were classified into four groups randomly. Group 1 underwent low-volume CVVH within 48 h of the onset of abdominal pain （early CVVH, n = 9）. Group 2 received low-volume CVVH after 96 h of the onset of abdominal pain （late CVVH, n= 10）. Group 3 underwent high-volume CVVH within 48 h of the onset of abdominal pain （early CVVH, n = 9）. Group 4 received high-volume CVVH after 96 h of theonset of abdominal pain （late CVVH, n = 9）. CVVH was sustained for at least 72 h. Blood was taken before hemofiltration, and ultrafiltrate was collected at the start of CVVH and every 12 h during CVVH period for the purpose of measuring the concentrations of TNF-α, IL-1β and IL-6. The concentrations of TNF-α, IL-1β and IL-6 were measured by swine-specific ELISA. The Solartron 1 255 B frequency response analyzer （British） was used to observe the resistance of filter membrane. RESULTS： The survival rate had a significant difference （94.44% vs68.42%, P〈0.01） high-volume and low-volume CVVH patients. The survival rate had also a significant difference （88.89% vs 73.68%, P〈0.05） between early and late CVVH patients. The hemodynamic deterioration （MAP, HR, CVP） was less severe in groups 4 and 1 bhan that in group 2, and in group 3 than in group 4. The adsorptive saturation time of filters membranes was 120-180 min if the filtration rate was 1 000-4 000 mL/h. Cerebral edema caused by blood-brain barrier injury after intracerebral hemorrhage is an important factor leading to poor ***-induced pluripotent stem cell-derived neural stem cell exosomes(hiPSC-NSC-Exos)have shown potential for brain injury repair in central nervous system *** this study,we explored the impact of hiPSC-NSC-Exos on blood-brain barrier preservation and the underlying *** results indicated that intranasal delivery of hiPSC-NSC-Exos mitigated neurological deficits,enhanced blood-brain barrier integrity,and reduced leukocyte infiltration in a mouse model of intracerebral ***,hiPSC-NSC-Exos decreased immune cell infiltration,activated astrocytes,and decreased the secretion of inflammatory cytokines like monocyte chemoattractant protein-1,macrophage inflammatory protein-1α,and tumor necrosis factor-αpost-intracerebral hemorrhage,thereby improving the inflammatory *** sequencing indicated that hiPSC-NSC-Exo activated the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway in astrocytes and decreased monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 secretion,thereby improving blood-brain barrier *** with the PI3K/AKT inhibitor LY294002 or the monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 neutralizing agent C1142 abolished these *** summary,our findings suggest that hiPSC-NSC-Exos maintains blood-brain barrier integrity,in part by downregulating monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 secretion through activation of the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway in astrocytes.

It is well-known that the performance of BiFeO3eBaTiO3(BF-BT)ceramics is sensitive to composition,calcining and sintering temperature(Tcal and Tsint)due to the formation of Bi25FeO39 and/or Bi2Fe4O9 impurities and/or the volatilization of Bi_(2)O_(3).We report remarkably stable electrical properties over the range of0.03≤x≤0.05 and 930℃≤Tsint≤970C in 0.7Bi(1þx)FeO_(3)-0.3BaTiO_(3)ceramics prepared by one-step *** method avoids the thermodynamically unstable region of BiFeO_(3)and prevents the formation of Bi25FeO39 and/or Bi_(2)Fe_(4)O_(9)impurities even when the addition of a-Bi_(2)O_(3)raw material is intentionally deficient or rich to make off-stoichiometric BF-BT,thus greatly improving the robustness of compositional and ***-pseudocubic phase coexists in all ceramics,and their CR/CPC fraction are 48.0/52.0e50.6/49.4 and 55.9/44.1e56.6/43.4 when x increases from0.05≤x≤0 to 0.01≤x≤*** stable electrical properties of d33¼180e205 pC/N,Pr¼17.9e23.8 mC/cm^(2),and TC¼485e518℃are *** maximum d_(33T)/d_(33RT)of BF-BT is twice that of soft PZT,superior to most the-state-of-art lead-free *** results provide a synthesis strategy for designing high performance piezoelectric materials with good stability and easy industrialization.

Accelerating leaching of copper ore with surfactant and the analysis of reaction kinetics

To solve the problem of low permeability and lower extraction rates of high-mud ores, a surfactant was added as a penetrant to the pregnant leaching solution during column leaching tests. On the basis of the theories of physical chemistry and seepage flow mechanics, the mechanism by which seepage is enhanced under the effects of the surfactant was analyzed. The results show that the action modes of the surfactant were divided into four aspects: changing the wettability of the ore, reducing the viscosity of the leaching solution, adsorbing onto the surface of ore, and enhancing the permeability effect. The findings of column leaching tests demonstrated that permeability was substantially improved by the surfactant. In the later period of leaching, the permeability coefficient was two times higher than that of the control group. Meanwhile, the ore extraction rate increased by approximately 10%. During the leaching process, the surface tension of the solution did not substantially change, and that of the solution with surfactant increased slightly. The kinetics analysis of ore column leaching illustrated that the leaching processes were controlled by both internal diffusion(principal factor) and chemical reaction.
