The integration of electronics and biology has spawned bioelectronics and opened exciting opportunities to fulfill the unmet needs of therapeutic *** developments in nanoelectronics and soft and biocompatible materials have shown potential applicability to clinical practices,including physiological sensing,drug delivery,cardiovascular monitoring,and brain *** date,most bioelectronic devices require wired connections for electrical control,making their implantation complicated and inconvenient for *** an alternative,wireless technology is proliferating to create bioelectronics that offer noninvasive control,biotelemetry,and wireless power transfer(WPT).This review paper provides a comprehensive overview of wireless bioelectronics and ongoing developments in their applications for organ-specific treatments,including disorders and *** main emphasis is on delineating the key features of antennas,namely their radiation characteristics,materials,integration with rest of the electronics,and experimental *** the recent progress in wireless mediated bioelectronics is expected to enhance the control of its functionalities,there are still numerous challenges that need to be addressed for commercialization,as well as to address everexpanding and evolving future therapeutic targets.

Negative reflection and negative surface wave conversion from obliquely incident electromagnetic waves

Complete control of spatially propagating waves(PWs)and surface waves(SWs)is an ultimate goal that scientists and engineers seek for,in which negative reflection of PW and negative surface wave are two exotic ***,we experimentally demonstrate an anisotropic digital coding metasurface capable of controlling both PWs and SWs with a single coding *** the basis of the digital description of coding metasurfaces,a simple coding method is proposed to allow dual functionalities(either PW or SW manipulations)under two orthogonal polarizations at arbitrarily oblique incidences,thus improving the adaptability of digital coding metasurfaces in more practical *** elaborately designed ellipse-shaped coding particles,we experimentally demonstrate various functions under oblique incidences,including the negative reflection of PW,negative SW,anomalous reflection and their arbitrary combinations,all having good agreements with theoretical and numerical *** believe that the proposed method may enable the digital coding metasurfaces to have broad applications in radar detections,wireless communications and imaging.

Locally Advanced Breast Cancer in Pakistani Women: What Is Different from Rest of the World and Why It Is Difficult to Manage

Locally Advance Breast Cancer refers to a heterogeneous group of breast cancer with locally extensive disease, which may or may not involve the nodes, without any distant metastases. The study was conducted at Faisalabad Medical University (FMU), Oncology, Allied Hospital Faisalabad (Pakistan). Data of 100 patients with LABC was collected. Demographics were recorded in the form of age, socio-economic status. In clinical data, time of presentation, family history of breast cancer, the presenting symptom in the form of lump, ulceration and other skin changes were noted. Histo-pathological variables including tumor size, histopathology, Bloom & Richardson grading, estrogen receptor (ER), progesterone receptor status (PR) and HER2 status. Results showed that after following a standard trimodality treatment approach in LABC patients, 30 percent died within two years. Disease free survival for more than two years was observed in only 25% of patients. Whereas, 70% patients had eventful (Recurrence/metastases) survival. This poor outcome was observed due to lack of health care facilities, awareness and poor socioeconomic status.
