Three Keggin-type heteropolyanions, namely H3PMo12O40-13H2O, （NH4）3PMo12O40·4H2O and H3PW12O40·13H2O were prepared and tested in the ring-opening polymerization reaction of tetrahydrofuran. The effects of the counter-cation （H＋, NH4＋） and the peripheral atoms （Mo, W） on the polymerization were investigated. It has been found that when the protons of H3PMo12O40·13H2O were replaced by the ammonium cations the polymerization rate decreased dramatically. Whereas, when the peripheral atoms （Mo） were replaced by their homologous （W）, the polymerization rate increased twofold. As for the viscosity average molecular weight （My） of polymer products, it was found that the high molecular weight （7930） was obtained by using H3PW12O40·13H2O. The molecular weight （My） obtained by H3PMo12O40·13H2O and （NH4）H3PMo12O40·13H2O was 6470 and 6810, respectively.

This paper presents a humanoid robotic arms controlled by tracking the human skeleton movement in real-time using Kinect upper limbbody tracking. Using Kinect tracking algorithm, the positions of upper limb arms of the body to the wrist in 3D space can be estimated by processing depth images from the Kinect. An extraction of 3D co-ordinates of the user’s both arm in real-time then Arduino microcontroller is transferring the data between both of computer and the humanoid robotic arm. This method provides a way to send movement task to the humanoid robotic manipulator instead of sending the end position motion like gesture-based approaches and this method has been tested in detect, tracking and following the movement of human skeleton gesture. Designing complete prototype of a humanoid robotic arms with 4DOF three joints in shoulder and one elbow joint to the wrist that look like the Human arm Structure, Appearance and Action that represent human arm movement performed by the humanoid robotic arm. The error was and response time result generated is small (less than 4.6% and 105 ms).

The EMG signal which is generated by the muscles activity diffuses to the skin surface of human body. This paper presents a pattern recognition system based on Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA) algorithm for the classification of upper arm motions;where this algorithm was mainly used in face recognition and voice recognition. Also a comparison between the Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA) and k-Nearest Neighbor (k-NN) algorithm is made for the classification of upper arm motions. The obtained results demonstrate superior performance of LDA to k-NN. The classification results give very accurate classification with very small classification errors. This paper is organized as follows: Muscle Anatomy, Data Classification Methods, Theory of Linear Discriminant Analysis, k-Nearest Neighbor (kNN) Algorithm, Modeling of EMG Pattern Recognition, EMG Data Generator, Electromyography Feature Extraction, Implemented System Results and Discussions, and finally, Conclusions. The proposed structure is simulated using MATLAB.

Aim: The aim of the present study is to access the effect of olive oil supplementation against high fat diet induced fatty liver disease in mice. Methods: Mice were divided into five groups: Group I (normal diet), Group II (high fat diet), Group III (olive oil), Group IV and V (High Fat Diet along with olive oil). All mice were fed for 16 weeks with weight measurements every 2 weeks and then sacrificed. Biochemical analysis of blood samples was done and mice livers were histologically examined. Results: Group II mice showed significant increase in body weight as compared with Group I (p zymes were significantly increased in Group II as compared with other groups (p zes the liver enzymes and significantly reduces the accumulation of fat in liver. Therefore, olive oil may represent a potential therapeutic alternative for NAFLD and other fatty diseases.

Landslide initiation and runout susceptibility modeling in the context of hill cutting and rapid urbanization: a combined approach of weights of evidence and spatial multicriteria

Rainfall induced landslides are a common threat to the communities living on dangerous hillslopes in Chittagong Metropolitan Area, Bangladesh. Extreme population pressure, indiscriminate hill cutting, increased precipitation events due to global warming and associated unplanned urbanization in the hills are exaggerating landslide events. The aim of this article is to prepare a scientifically accurate landslide susceptibility map by combining landslide initiation and runout maps. Land cover, slope, soil permeability, surface geology, precipitation, aspect, and distance to hill cut, road cut, drainage and stream network factor maps were selected by conditional independence test. The locations of 56 landslides were collected by field surveying. A weight of evidence(Wo E) method was applied to calculate the positive(presence of landslides) and negative(absence of landslides) factor weights. A combination of analytical hierarchical process(AHP) and fuzzymembership standardization(weighs from 0 to 1) was applied for performing a spatial multi-criteria evaluation. Expert opinion guided the decision rule for AHP. The Flow-R tool that allows modeling landslide runout from the initiation sources was applied. The flow direction was calculated using the modified Holmgren's algorithm. The AHP landslide initiation and runout susceptibility maps were used to prepare a combined landslide susceptibility map. The relative operating characteristic curve was used for model validation purpose. The accuracy of Wo E, AHP, and combined susceptibility map was calculated 96%, 97%, and 98%, respectively.

In practical applications,relative humidity in the air is a key factor affecting the photocatalytic removal of NO,which is often overlooked in previous ***,we developed a direct z-scheme UiO-66-NH_(2)/Bi_(2)MoO_(6)heterojunction with a nanoflower-like structure to systematically investigate the effect of relative humidity on photocatalytic removal of *** optimized heterojunction for the removal efficiency of NO was 71.6%at1.07 mg·m^(-3)NO concentration(relative humidity=10%),and the generation of NO_(2) was only 1.1%.Interestingly,with the increase in relative humidity,it showed a higher inhibition effect on NO_(2),while the removal of NO decreased slightly(8%),which might be attributed to the affinity effect of NO_(2) with water molecules and the competitive adsorption of H_(2)O and NO on the surface of the heterojunction ***,the reaction pathways of NO removal at the developed heterojunctions were revealed by in situ DRIFTS *** work provides a novel vision for the development of direct z-scheme heterojunction photocatalysts to effectively remove NO and inhibit the formation of toxic intermediate NO_(2) under different humidities.

A New Sliding Function for Discrete Predictive Sliding Mode Control of Time Delay Systems

The control of time delay systems is still an open area for research. This paper proposes an enhanced model predictive discrete-time sliding mode control with a new sliding function for a linear system with state delay. Firstly, a new sliding function including a present value and a past value of the state, called dynamic surface, is designed by means of linear matrix inequalities （LMIs）. Then, using this dynamic function and the rolling optimization method in the predictive control strategy, a discrete predictive sliding mode controller is synthesized. This new strategy is proposed to eliminate the undesirable effect of the delay term in the closed loop system. Also, the designed control strategy is more robust, and has a chattering reduction property and a faster convergence of the system s state. Finally, a numerical example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed control.

Background: Anastomotic leak is the most dreaded complication and it accounts for one third of post-operative deaths in colorectal surgery. There is strong need of research in this field in order to reduce anastomotic leak rate. If there was a test available to signify probability of leak at the time of surgery, it would potentially avoid a leak at a later date. Aim: We propose that intra operative use of narrow band imaging colonoscopy in left sided colonic anastomosis can predict and detect anastomosis related problems, problems i.e. vascularity, anastomotic lumen patency and rigidness of anastomosis which in turn lead to correction at the time of surgery resulting in significant decrease in anastomotic leak rate associated with morbidity and mortality. Methodology: A pilot, single blind, prospective, randomised controlled trial. Aim is to divide patient in 2 groups, containing 15 patients in each group. One group will be assessed by intra-operative NBI colonoscopy and other with standard technique. Analysis: This will be performed using SPSS with the help of statistician. Significance: This area of research is particularly important because it improves survival by reducing morbidity and mortality associated with anastomotic leak. If a leak is avoided then it does not only mean early recovery but it also saves NHS in terms of ICU care, NHS bed, inpatient nursing care and home help, unfortunately all required if leak is to occur. As a result, this research will have better financial implication with significantly improve patient care.

BACKGROUND Nonalcoholic steatohepatitis-related cirrhosis is one of the liver complications in type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)and reported to be a risk factor for developing hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).A reliable screening biomarker of liver cirrhosis(LC)and HCC among T2DM patients is important to reduce the morbidity and mortality of this ***(miRNA)is considered a key player in HCC and T2DM,and it might be a hidden culprit in diabetes-associated HCC,making it a promising reliable prognostic *** To investigate the signature of serum miRNAs as early biomarkers for the screening of HCC among diabetic *** Expression profiles of miRNAs in serum samples of diabetic LC and diabetic HCC patients were assessed using Illumina sequencing;then,RT-qPCR was used to validate significantly altered miRNAs between the two *** miRNAs were tested in serum samples of 200 T2DM patients,270 LC patients,200 HCC patients,and 225 healthy control ***,receiver operating characteristic(ROC)analysis,with area under the curve(AUC),was performed to assess the diagnostic performance of the screened miRNAs for discriminating HCC from LC and nonmalignant patients(LC+T2DM).RESULTS Expression of the sequenced miRNAs in serum was different in HCC vs LCpositive T2DM *** miRNAs(miR-34a,miR-221)were significantly upregulated and five miRNAs(miR-16,miR-23-3p,miR-122-5p,miR-198,miR-199a-3p)were significantly down-regulated in HCC compared to LC *** of ROC curve demonstrated that the combination of these seven miRNAs can be used as a reliable biomarker for detection of HCC in diabetic patients,as it could identify HCC with high diagnostic accuracy in diabetic LC patients(AUC=0.993)and in diabetic nonmalignant patients(AUC=0.961).CONCLUSION This study validates a panel of serum miRNAs that can be used as a reliable noninvasive screening biomarker of HCC among T2DM cirrhotic and noncirrhotic *** study recommends furt
