Objective:The a.m of this.s.udy wa.0}to eva.ua.e the fea.0}bility of intra.es.ca. ins.illa.ion of pla.elet-rich pla.0}a.PRP)to trea. inters.itia. cys.itis.bla.der pa.n s.ndrome(IC/BPs..Ma.eria.s.a.d methods.Twenty PRP s.mples.were tes.ed in vitro for s.a.ility a.ter expos.re to urine s.mples.with different pH.a.pilot s.udy involving 21 fema.e pa.ients.with IC/BPs.wa.0}conducted,a.d 6 weekly dos.s.of a.tologous.PRP(50 mL)were *** were followed up a. the 2nd,4th,8th,a.d 12th weeks.a.ter termina.ing *** prima.y endpoint wa.0}the vis.a. a.a.og s.a.e(Va.0}for pa.n,a.d the s.conda.y endpoints.included the IC s.mptom index,IC problem index of the O'Lea.y-s.nt ques.ionna.re a.d globa. res.ons. a.0}es.ment,urine culture,a.d *** wa.0}defined a.0}a.reduction in Va.0}by 30%or more compa.ed with ba.0}l level,a.d a.vers. events.were ***:The mea.±s. of Va.0}wa.0}s.gnifica.tly reduced compa.ed with ba.0}l level(4.4±2.6 vs.8.8±1.1,res.ectively,p=0.001).Mea.while,80%of ca.0}s.were cons.dered s.cces.ful,with a.50.1%reduction in the mea. s.ore compa.ed with the ba.0}l *** mea.±s. of IC s.mptom index a.d IC problem index s.gnifica.tly improved compa.ed with the ba.0}l *** res.ons. a.0}es.ment wa.0}ma.kedly,modera.ely,a.d s.ightly improved in 2(10%),10(50%),a.d 5(25%)pa.ients.res.ectively,a.d s.owed no cha.ge in 3(15%).Three pa.ients.ha. pos.tive urine cultures.a. follow-up,but 1 withdrew a.ter 2 s.s.ions.beca.s. of a.la.k of ***:Repea.ed intra.es.ca. ins.illa.ion of PRP could be cons.dered a. effective a.d s.fe a.proa.h for trea.ing IC/BPs.

Purpos.: This.s.udy wa.0}conducted to a.dit prophyla.tic a.tibiotic us. a.d to qua.tify the ra.e of wound infection. Methods. a.ros.-s.ctiona. pros.ective s.udy wa.0}conducted in the Obs.etrics.a.d Gynecology Depa.tment in Kha.toum Tea.hing Hos.ita., s.da. during Ma.ch 1s. to 31s. October 2010. a.l Pa.ients.(a.ed >18 yea.s. were included. Res.lts. Overa.l 725 pa.ients.were included. The performed s.rgica. procedures.were 751;of thes. 578 (76.9%) were Ca.s.rea. s.ctions. Overa.l ra.e of wound infection wa.0}7.8%. The ra.e of wound infection a.ong pa.ients.opera.ed on for ca.s.rea. s.ction a.d a.domina. hys.erectomy wa.0}8.3%, a.d 9.2%, res.ectively. Multiva.ia.e logis.ic a.a.ys.s.s.owed tha. body ma.0} index [BMI] ≥ 30 kg/m2 OR 2.1, 95% CI (1.1 - 4.0), (P = 0.019) wa.0}the ma.or independent ris. fa.tor for occurrence of wound infection. Eva.ua.ion of pres.riptions. pa.a.eters.a.a.ns. the s.a.ed criteria.s.owed tha. 113 (15.8%) pa.ients.were given a.tibiotics.with a.equa.e s.ectrum of a.tivity, 611 (85.3%) given s.b-dos./s. 83 (11.6%) received the firs. preopera.ive dos./s.in a.proper time window, a.d 716 (100%) ha. prophyla.is.for extended dura.ion.
