Background: The tricuspid annular plane systolic excursion (TAPSE) and pulmonary artery systolic pressure (PASP) is an indirect estimate of right ventricular-pulmonary arterial (RV-PA) coupling that has been shown to correlate with invasive measures. We aimed to assess the ability of the tricuspid annular plane systolic excursion/pulmonary systolic pressure ratio (TAPSE/PASP) as a measure for RV-PA coupling to predict the development of RV dysfunction after cardiac surgery. Methods: This prospective study was conducted on 100 patients with ischemic heart disease and undergoing cardiac surgery (coronary artery bypass graft (CABG)) with normal preoperative right ventricular function, classified according to RV function outcomes into 2 groups: Normal RV group (65 patients) and RV dysfunction group (35 patients). All cases underwent per and postoperative transthoracic echocardiography. Results: By using receiver operating characteristic curve analysis, pre-operative TAPSE/PASP ratio could significantly predict the RV dysfunction (P 0.58, with AUC of 94%, 88.6% sensitivity, and 89.2% specificity. Post-operative TAPSE/PASP Ratio could significantly predict the RV dysfunction (P 0.39, with AUC of 84%, 100% sensitivity, and 76.9% specificity. Pre-operative TAPSE/PASP ratio could significantly predict mortality (P Conclusion: The TAPSE/PASP ratio is an excellent tool for CABG patients for its ability to detect and predict the development of RV dysfunction after cardiac surgery, along with the prediction of mortality in post-operative CABG patients.

Tungsten ion source under double-pulse laser ablation system

New tungsten ion source is produced by using single and double-pulse laser ablation system. Combined collinear Nd：YAG laser beams（266＋1064 nm） are optimized to focus on the sample in air. Optimization of the experimental parameters is achieved to enhance the signal-to-noise ratio of the emission spectra. The velocity distribution of the emitted plasma cloud is carefully measured. The influences of the potential difference between the bias electrodes, laser wavelength and intensity on the current signal are also studied. The results show that the increase in the tungsten ion velocity under the double-pulse lasers causes the output current signal to increase by about three folds. The electron density and temperature are calculated by using the Stark-broadened line profile of tungsten line and Boltzmann plot method of the upper energy levels, respectively. The signal intensity dependence of the tungsten ion angular distribution is also analyzed. The results indicate that the double-pulse laser ablation configuration is more potent technique for producing more metal ion source deposition, thin film formation, and activated plasma-facing component material.

Protective compartments are typically used to protect some specific structures from internal explosions,such as industrial buildings that contain devices that may explode in certain *** research investigates how the response of reinforced concrete(RC)compartment structures subjected to internal blast loads are affected by the following aspects:introduction of material nonlinearity in the analysis,reinforcement ratio,and aspect ratio of the *** achieve this goal,a calibrated and sophisticated FE numerical model is introduced,and a parametric study for the intended aspects is carried out.A discussion of the results and conclusions are offered,which show the role of each aspect in the dynamic performance of the compartment *** main conclusions are as follows:introduction of material nonlinearity in this type of analysis and for these structures is very important and significant in obtaining accurate outputs that are similar to actual behavior;the reinforcement ratio has a significant effect on the response and its effect varies depending on the thickness of the compartment;in general,increasing the reinforcement ratio enhances the behavior and reduces the stresses in the compartment;and the aspect ratio of the compartment does not show a clear pattern on the response of such structures under internal blast loads.

Development of C/S and B/S E-Commerce System ——Case Study ...

With the development of Internet technology, methods, and tools of the development of information systems, especially in electronic commerce field, leads to make theoretical and practical studies for developing electronic commerce systems. Since Yemen is a developing country, we have to pay a great deal of attention to the great role that the Internet plays in the world of business. This thesis presents study of the state of development information systems in Yemen especially in E-Commerce information systems, also focusing on the methods and tools which were used in the developing information systems in Yemen, and the rate of using Object-Oriented Software Engineering in the universities and software companies of Yemen through developing information systems. The study showed that about 95% of information systems in Yemen were developed by using traditional software engineering, only about 5% of information systems were developed by using Object-Oriented software engineering. Since Yemeni government is moving towards E-Commerce & E-Government and Based on the above results, this thesis also presents case study of developing electronic commerce information system of Online Bookstore System (OBS) for sales the books through the Internet.On one hand , the Online Bookstore System has been developed by using the Object-Oriented technology as software engineering methodology based on Coad & Yourdon method for Object-Oriented Analysis model which has five layers and Object-Oriented Design model which has four components, because the Coad & Yourdon method is easy to study and apply. The case study can be seen as 3-Tier Architecture E-Commerce System which has become popular today. On the other hand, every developer, programmer, and who interested in developing information systems especially in electronic commerce systems and software engineering can make use of such kind of this thesis.

Textile Environmental Conditioning: Effect of Relative Humidity Variation on the Tensile Properties of Different Fabrics

With the aim that to confirm the need for humidity control in the environment in which textile sample are visually and instrumentally analyzed, three different pre-conditioned fabrics sample of cotton, polyester and silk were treated at a fix temperature of 21?C. The relative humidity adjusted to four levels: 55%, 65%, 75% and 85% RH for a conditioning time of 24 hours as specified in ASTM D-1776-98. It has been observed that as the relative humidity increase from 55% to 85% cotton increase its tensile strength, silk losses its strength and there was no significant change observed in the tensile strength of polyester fabric.
