Survival of encapsulated probiotics through spray drying and non-refrigerated storage for animal feeds application

The objective of this study is to verify potential of various types of microorganisms during spray drying and non-refrigerated storage that can be enhanced substantially by selecting suitable protective colloids. Four selected probiotics tested are Lactbacillus plantarum B13 and B18, which are the bacteria probiotics and Kluyveromyces lactis and Saccharomyces blouradii, non-bacteria probiotics. Two levels of experiment occur starting with formulation study of encapsulation agent followed by the viability study of different probiotics after spray dry and two weeks nonrefrigerated storage. The formulation of 30% of gum Arabic, 15% of gelatin and 45% of coconut oil can homogenize well at least for two hours and can produce acceptable dried product (below 4% of moisture content) at low outlet temperature (70℃ -75℃). K. lactis, S. blouradii gives 2.57% and 2.4% of viability percentage after spray drying process and 25.84% and 2.04% after two weeks nonrefrigerated storage respectively. The colonies of non-probiotics bacteria after both conditions are between 1010 and 106 cfu/mL which is among the accepted level for industrial application. However, the survival of probiotics in a spray-dried form during non-refrigerated storage is higher at low of moisture content compared to others.

Early Results of Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG) in Patients with Low Ejection Fraction

Background: Patients with ischemic heart disease and reduced ejection fraction have increased risk for postoperative complications and mortality. Our aim was to evaluate the effect of low EF (on the early outcomes after CABG and identify the predictors of mortality. Methods: From August 2018 to November 2019, 170 consecutive patients underwent CABG. Group 1 included 120 patients with EF ( EF (>40;57.90% ± 2.27%), 41 were men (82.0%), and the mean age was 54.30 ± 7.01 years and used as a control group. Results: Overall 30-day mortality was 10/120 patients (8.3%). Factors associated with higher mortality were females (70.0% vs. 17.3%, P Conclusion: CABG in EF < 40% is associated with more complications compared with those had EF higher than 40%;however, the clinical and echocardiographic parameters improved over time.

Objective:To study the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity of Butia capitata(***)leaf extracts along with phytochemical analysis of the proposed bioactive ***:Different successive extracts of *** *** were prepared with selective organic solvents and screened for their anti-inflammatory activities in tested animals and invitro antioxidant *** extensive phytochemical investigation of the bioactive extracts through paper chromatography,thin layer chromatography,column chromatography,gasliquid chromatography(GLC),high pressure liquid chromatography and spectral ***,ultraviolet,hydrogen and carbon nuclear magnetic resonance,electron ionization-mass spectrometry,heteronuclear multiple bond correlation and heteronuclear multiple quantum correlation were carried out Results:Results showed that different extracts possess promising antioxidant effect and significant anti-inflammatory activity with variable *** results of the phytochemical investigation of the bioactive extracts revealed the presence of volatile substances,lipoidal matter,α-tocopherol,free sugars,polysaccharides and flavonoidal ***:*** leaf extracts were shown to possess variable antioxidant effect,the most promising was methanol extract Both polar and non polar extracts were proved to have anti-inflammatory activity,the non polar extract was superior in this respect The bioactivity of the extracts was ascribed to the presence of flavonoids,sterols andα-tocopherol.

以5W-30润滑油为基础油,Al_2O_3/TiO_2为纳米添加剂,配制添加剂质量分数为2%的纳米润滑油。通过摩擦学性能试验台模拟缸套-活塞环摩擦副实际工作过程,研究Al_2O_3/TiO_2纳米添加剂对摩擦学性能的改善;通过场发射扫描电镜(FESEM)对活塞环样本微观形貌进行观察,确定表面磨损情况;通过发动机台架实验研究确定实际使用工作过程中,纳米添加剂对发动机动力性能的影响。结果表明,润滑油中加入Al_2O_3/TiO_2纳米添加剂后,缸套-活塞环摩擦副摩擦磨损性能得到明显改善,摩擦因数和活塞环磨损率显著下降,摩擦因数最大下降50.6%,平均下降42%;活塞环磨损率最大下降34.8%,平均下降27.2%;活塞环表面微观形貌得到明显改善,磨损表面得到修复,划痕显著减少;在转速为4 400 r/min时随着负荷逐渐增大,发动机台架实验输出功率最高提升24.2%,低负荷功率增幅显著,高负荷范围内功率平均提升3.3%,动力性能得到较大提升。

Inhibitory effects of Albizia lebbeck leaf extracts on germination and growth behavior of some popular agricultural crops

An experiment was conducted to observe the inhibitory effects of the leaf extracts derived from Albizia lebbeck （L.） Benth. On germination and growth behavior of some popular agricultural crops （receptor） of Bangladesh. Experiments were set on sterilized petridishes with a photoperiod of 24 h at room temperature of 27-30℃. The effects of the different concentrations of aqueous extracts were compared to distil water （control.）. The aqueous extracts of leaf caused significant inhibitory effect on germination, root and shoot elongation and development of lateral roots of receptor plants. Bioassays indicated that the inhibitory effect was proportional to the concentrations of the extracts and higher concentration （50%-100%） had the stronger inhibitory effect whereas the lower concentration （10%-25%） showed stimulatory effect in some cases. The study also revealed that, inhibitory effect was much pronounced in root and lateral root development rather than germination and shoot growth.

Decaying mangrove detritus plays a significant role in nutrient cycling and fueling in both the forests and aquatic habitats where the detritus stems from estuarine and coastal food *** decay rates partly depend on the type of detritus,but most studies have thus far focused on leaf litter decay and decomposition,whereas other detrital sources(except for roots)have largely been *** compare the decay rates of Rhizophora apiculata and Xylocarpus granatum non-leafy detritus(flowers,propagules,stipules,and twigs)with mangrove leaf litter in field studies,using litter bags during the dry and the wet seasons in the tropical mangrove forest of Sibuti,Sarawak,*** observed higher microbial decay rates of stipules,flowers,propagules,and twigs for both the *** and *** the wet *** contrast,leaf decay rates were higher during the dry *** rates depended on the lignin content of the detrital sources of both species,both during dry and wet ***,the half-life(T0.5)and 95%lifespan(T0.95)of non-leaf materials(flowers,propagules,stipules and twigs)for both species were remarkably longer than those of leaf *** decaying non-leafy detritus may play a significant role in nutrient and carbon cycling over longer time,when leaf litter is either being decomposing rapidly and/or being washed away by tidal flush and river ***,non-leafy(flowers,propagules,stipules and twigs)detritus should be taken into account when budgeting organic matter turnover in mangroves.

自2013年习近平主席提出建设“丝绸之路经济带”和“21世纪海上丝绸之路”以来,中国与中东国家经贸往来日趋活跃,能源关系发展迅速,能源合作己成为中国在中东推进“一带一路”倡议的重要内容和突破口。中国和中东在能源合作机制方面,进行了有益的探索,并且取得了一些成就。因为国际局势的复杂多变和中东地区的政治稳定等因素的影响,中国和中东地区的能源合作还面临很多风险和挑战,需要双方在现有的框架内,本着互惠互利、共享共建等原则,进行平等对话和协商。论文主要的研究内容是:(1)分析“一带一路”对中国和中东能源的合作的影响机制,主要从能源合作的理论基础、战略对接、合作机制等方面进行分析。即将地缘政治、要素禀赋、比较优势、战略贸易等理论作为促进中国和中东能源合作的理论依据,并从合作广度、深度以及合作方向等方面分析了目前中国和中东国家能源合作机制的构建。(2)分析对中国与中东的能源合作状况。主要系统梳理了中国和中东能源合作规模和结构,以及从国际环境变化的角度分析面临的机遇和挑战。(3)提出加强中国和中东地区的能源合作的建议。通过分析并深入研究可知,中国和中东地区尤其是和海湾国家的能源合作越来越紧密,并且取得了一定的成果。目前面临良好的发展机遇,比如国际能源市场的变化,美国和中东各国在利益上出现了纠纷;中国“一带一路”在中东得到了各国政府的大力支持;在新能源领域仍有很大合作空间;美国撤军阿富汗丧失在中东地区话语权等。但是同时也面临一些挑战,比如地缘政治和安全问题、美国在中东地区的持续影响、“一带一路”受到排挤等。面对这些机遇和挑战,双方应该统一理念、完善合作机制、发挥外交桥梁作用、扩大合作领域、优化能源投资结构、加强互联互通等,推进中国和中东能源合作深入开展。

Association between <i>Helicobacter pylori</i>Infection and Iron Deficiency Anemia among School-Age Children in Sohag University Hospital, Upper Egypt

Background: Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection has been suggested as a cause of iron deficiency anemia (IDA) refractory to iron therapy. Objective: The aim of this work was to evaluate the association between H. pylori infection and IDA among school-age children. Subjects and Methods: This was a prospective case-control study conducted for one year starting from March 2015 and included 200 school-age children with IDA and 50 age and sex matched non-anemic controls, attending pediatric outpatient clinic at Sohag university Hospital, Sohag, Upper Egypt. All of participants were subjected to clinical evaluation and the following investigations: CBC, serum iron, total iron binding capacity, serum ferritin and a quantitative detection of H. pylori IgG antibodies. Results: Totally, 72 (36%) children with IDA and 6 (12%) non-anemic controls had positive level for H. pylori specific IgG (P = 0.036). H. pylori IgG antibody titer showed significant positive correlation with age and significant negative correlation with each of Hb level, MCV, HCT and serum ferritin. Age was higher (p H. pylori positive IDA cases in comparison to H. pylori negative IDA cases. Conclusion: The results of this study demonstrate significant association between positive serology for H. pylori infection and IDA in school-age children. Moreover, infection may increase the severity of anemia.

Different Volumes of Local Anesthetics in Ultrasound-Guided Combined Interscalene-Supraclavicular Block for Traumatic Humeral Fracture

Background: Procedures that require anesthesia of entire length of the arm should have combined Interscalene block (ISB) and Supraclavicular block (SCB) to ensure adequate block. However, dual block requires high dose of local anesthetic (LA). We examined if Ultrasound (U/S) guided block helps to decrease the required volume of LA by visualizing trunks, so we only need injection of LA toward cervical nerve roots C5 and C6 aiming to block branches escaped from supraclavicular block. Patients and methods: Ninety-three patients were randomly allocated into one of three equal groups, each included 31 patients. All patients received SCB 20 ml (10 ml Bupivacaine 0.5% plus 10 ml lidocaine 2%) and ISB with different volumes of LA according to the group as follow: group A: 20 ml, group B: 15 ml, and group C: 10 ml. Result: No significant difference in onset of block (sensory and motor) and duration of block (motor only) between the three groups (P value > 0.05). The duration of sensory block was significantly longer in group A (760.65 ± 30.87 minutes) than in either group B (740.48 ± 21.15 minutes, P value P value P value P value P value P value < 0.001). Conclusion: A reduced volume of LA can be used in ultra sound guided ISB in combined with SCB to give satisfactory level of anesthesia to entire length of the arm, but the sensory block duration and duration of post-operative analgesia will be decreased significantly with decreasing the volume.
