A sim.le, sensitive, and specific m.thod was developed for sim.ltaneous determ.nation of Am.odipine besylate (Am.), Valsartan (Vals) and Hydrochlorothiazide (HCT) by high perform.nce liquid chrom.tography without previous separation. Satisfactory resolution was achieved using a RP-C18 chrom.tographic colum., Phenom.nex Kinetex (150 m. × 4.6 m. i.d) and a m.bile phase consisting of acetonitrile-phosphate buffer (0.05 m. with pH 2.8 in the proportion of (40/60, v/v) at a flow rate 0.8 m./m.n and the wavelength detection was 227 nm. The retention tim. for HCT, Am. and VAls was 2.26, 3.16 and 11.19 m.n;respectively. The described m.thod was linear over a range of 4-28 μg /m., 5-40 μg /m. and 1-12 μg /m. for Am., Vals and HCT;respectively. The m.an percent recoveries were 99.94%, 99.96% and 99.78% for Am., Vals and HCT;respectively. F-test and t-test at 95%con?dence level were used to check the interm.diate precision data obtained under different experim.ntal setups. The m.thod could be used for analysis of com.ined dose tablet form.lation containing Am., Vals, HCT as well as spiked hum.n plasm..

In this paper, we have presented the num.rical investigation of the geom.tric phase and field entropy squeezing for a two-level system.interacting with coherent field under decoherence effect during the tim. evolution. The effects of the initial state setting and atom.c dissipation dam.ing param.ter on the evolution of the geom.tric phase and entropy squeezing have been exam.ned. We have reported som. new results related to the periodicity and regularity of geom.tric phase and entropy squeezing.

Background: Spontaneous bacterial peritonitis (SBP) is a life-threatening infection occurring in 8% - 30% of ascitic cirrhotic patients;different laboratory diagnostics play a pivotal role for rapid and effective m.nagem.nt of SBP patients. Polym.rphonuclear leucocytic (Pm.Ls) count in Ascitic fluid (AF) is the m.instay for the diagnosis, whereas the diagnostic role of alternative biom.rkers is rather controversial. In m.ny studies, serum.lipopolysaccharide binding protein (LBP) was elevated and Com.lem.nt 3 (C3) level was significantly consum.d in AF of SBP patients. Objectives: To evaluate the diagnostic value of serum.LBP and AF C3 in HCV-cirrhotics with SBP in relation to other well-established serum.and AF m.rkers. Patients and m.thods: One hundred and twenty patients with HCV-cirrhosis and ascites were enrolled and consented: 50 patients with non-SBP ascites in group A and 70 ascitic patients diagnosed with SBP according to clinical suspicion and Pm.s count in AF ≥ 250 cells/m.3 in group B in addition to 15 healthy individuals considered as a control group. Serum.LBP, CBC, kidney and liver function tests, CRP, fasting and 2 h PP blood glucose and HCV antibodies were m.asured. AF sam.les were sent for C3 level, culture, Pm.Ls count, LDH, CRP, total proteins and album.n. Results: In patients with SBP, the level of serum.LBP was not significantly high (p > 0.05) with best cut off value at 0.4500 and poor AUC (m.st excellent AUC (0.889) with good sensitivity and specificity (82% & 84%, respectively). In this article, we shall report the results of the spectroscopic m.asurem.nts of the plasm. param.ters utilizing the spectral lines em.tted from.the air atom. surrounding plasm. (O I line at 777.19 nm.and N I at 746.83 nm.. The plasm. was created via irradiation of plane solid alum.num.target in open air by a high peak power Nd: YAG laser pulses at fundam.ntal wavelength of 1064 nm. The em.ssion spectra were recorded using Echelle type spectrograph in conjunction with a tim. gated ICCD cam.ra at different delay tim. from.1 to 5 μs and at a fixed gate tim. of 1 μs. The plasm. electron density was m.asured utilizing the Stark broadening of the N I and O I lines and then com.ared to the reference density as deduced from.the optically thin Hα-line at 656.27 nm.appeared in the sam. em.ssion spectra. The results show that under our experim.ntal conditions the air lines are subjected to m.derate absorption. The plasm. electron tem.erature was m.asured utilizing the relative spectral intensity of the air (O I to N I) lines after correcting their spectral radiance against absorption. The standard tem.erature was m.asured utilizing the Al II ionic lines. A com.arison to the reference tem.eratures shows a very close agreem.nt after correcting the em.ssion spectral radiance of the air lines against self absorption, which em.hasizes the im.ortance of correction process.

Introduction: Haem.dialysis is the m.st well-established form.of treatm.nt for ESRD. m.thod: To evaluate the im.lem.ntation of standard criteria in heam.dialysis water treatm.nt units in Sharkia governorate and to determ.ne the weak points in application of standard criteria, and reach the optim.l standards to im.rove pt. outcom.s, across the sectional study was conducted at 30 heam.dialysis units of Sharkia governorate, using a m.dified questionnaire was developed based on m.H protocol and international guidelines such as CARI guidelines, AAm. guidelines and others by the researchers. All data were collected, tabulated and statistically analyzed using SPSS 22.0 for windows (SPSS Inc., Chicago, IL, USA). Results: Of the 30 units, the m.jority m.re than 80% of the units achieved the infrastructure and schem.tic structure, contain water purification devices, good infection control policies, proper chem.cal disinfection, good m.nitoring and quality control, accepted m.intenance technician evaluation and collected processed water sam.les results m.tched decree of 63 for 1996. Conclusion: m.st of the studied units nearly fulfilled the standard specifications of both m.H and AAm.. Ensuring that water quality m.ets AAm. standards and recom.endations will m.nim.ze patient exposure to potential contam.nants such as chem.cal hazards and endotoxem.a associated with the use of the treated water for HD.

This research work is focused on both experim.ntal and num.rical analysis of laser surface hardening of AISI m. high speed tool steel. Experim.ntal analysis aim. at clarifying effect of different laser processing param.ters on properties and perform.nce of laser surface treated specim.ns. Num.rical analysis is concerned with analytical approaches that provide efficient tools for estim.tion of surface tem.erature, surface hardness and hardened depth as a function of laser surface hardening param.ters. Results indicated that optim.zation of laser processing param.ters including laser power, laser spot size and processing speed com.ination is of considerable im.ortance for achieving m.xim.m.surface hardness and deepest hardened zone. In this concern, higher laser power, larger spot size and lower processing speed are m.re efficient. Hardened zone with 1.25 m. depth and 996 HV surface hardness was obtained using 1800 W laser power, 4 m. laser spot size and 0.5 m.m.n laser processing speed. The obtained m.xim.m.hardness of laser surface treated specim.n is 23% higher than that of conventionally heat treated specim.n. This in turn has resulted in 30% increase in wear resistance of laser surface treated specim.n. Num.rical analysis has been carried out for calculation of tem.erature gradient and cooling rate based on Ashby and Easterling equations. Then, surface hardness and hardened depth have been num.rically estim.ted based on available Design-Expert software. Num.rical results indicated that cooling rate of laser surface treated specim.n is high enough to be beyond the nose of the CCT diagram.of the used steel that in turn resulted in a hard/m.rtensitic structure. Num.rically estim.ted values of surface tem.erature, surface hardness and hardened depth as a function of laser processing param.ters are in a good agreem.nt with experim.ntal results. Background: Cadm.um.is a heavy m.tal having toxic effects on m.st organ system. of the body. Objectives: We aim.to investigate the postulated protective properties of olive oil in Cadm.um.induced renal toxicity in m.ce by utilizing standard biom.rkers of renal toxicity, oxidative stress and histopathological characterization. m.terials and m.thods: Forty m.ce were random.y divided into four groups of 10 m.ce each. Group 1 served as control group, group 2 was given Extra-virgin olive oil orally, group 3 was given Cadm.um.chloride and group 4 was given Cadm.um.chloride with Extra-virgin olive oil. At the end of the experim.ntal period, biochem.cal analysis histopathology of kidney was done. Results: The present study depicted that blood urea, serum.creatinine and the antioxidant m.rkers (Superoxide dism.tase, Glutathione peroxidase and Catalase) levels were significantly increased in group 3 com.ared to group 1 and 2. After adm.nistration of Extra-virgin olive oil with Cadm.um.in group 4, the levels of those m.rkers significantly im.roved. Histopathology of the renal tissue showed severe dam.ge of glom.ruli, severely congested blood vessels and m.rked dilatation of Bowm.n’s capsule in group 3 with im.rovem.nts of these changes in group 4. Conclusion: This study suggests that Extra-virgin olive oil can be used as a cost effective safe anti-oxidative agent in the prevention of Cadm.um.toxicity.

We have utilized the relative intensity of m.gnesium.lines originated from.the m. I at 285.2 nm.and m. II at 280.27, 279.55 nm.to m.asure the plasm. electron tem.erature. The plasm. was produced via interaction of Nd:YAG laser with solid alum.num.target contains traces of m.gnesium. The m.gnesium.lines were found to suffer from.optical thickness which m.nifests itself on the form.of scattered points around the Saha-Boltzm.nn line. We have utilized a sim.le m.thod used for rapid calculation to the am.unt of absorption to these lines via com.arison of the electron densities as deduced from.m.gnesium.lines to that evaluated from.the optically thin hydrogen Hα line at 656.27 nm.appeared in the sam. spectra under the sam. condition. A correction to the m.gnesium.spectral lines intensities was carried out;hence the corrected tem.eratures were re-evaluated. The m.asurem.nts were repeated at different delay tim.s ranging from.1 to 5 μsec. This work em.hasizes on the im.ortance of correcting the em.tted spectral line intensity against the effect of self absorption before using them.in the calculation of plasm. electron tem.erature in laser induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) experim.nts.
