Intermittent fasting(IF)is an intervention that involves not only dietary modific-ations but also behavioral changes with the main core being a period of fasting alternating with a period of controlled *** duration of fasting differs from one regimen to *** fasting(RF)is a religious fasting for Muslims,it lasts for only one month every one lunar *** this model of fasting,observers abstain from food and water for a period that extends from dawn to *** period of daily fasting is variable(12-18 hours)as Ramadan rotates in all seasons of the ***,longer duration of daily fasting is observed during the *** fact,RF is a peculiar type of *** is a dry IF as no water is allowed during the fasting hours,also there are no calorie restrictions during feeding hours,and the mealtime is exclusively *** three variables of the RF model are believed to have a variable impact on different liver *** was evaluated by different observational and interventional studies among patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and it was associated with improve-ments in anthropometric measures,metabolic profile,and liver biochemistry regardless of the calorie restriction among lean and obese *** situation is rather different for patients with liver *** was associated with adverse events among patients with liver cirrhosis irrespective of the underlying etiology of *** patients developed new ascites,ascites were increased,had higher serum bilirubin levels after Ramadan,and frequently developed hepatic encephalopathy and acute upper gastrointestinal *** complications were higher among patients with Child class B and C cirrhosis,and some fatalities occurred due to *** transplant recipients as a special group of patients,are vulnerable to dehydration,fluctuation in blood immunosuppressive levels,likelihood of deterioration and hence observing RF without special precautions

Effect of Pd or Ir on the catalytic performance of Mo/H-ZSM-5 during the non-oxidative conversion of natural gas to petrochemicals

Natural gas conversion to petrochemicals, principally, benzene, naphthalene, toluene, as well as ethylene under non-oxidative conditions was examined in a fixed bed flow reactor at 700 ℃ and gaseous hourly space velocity （GHSV） of 1500 ml·g ^-1·h^-1 at time-on-stream ranging from 5 rain to 4 h using catalysts containing 6.0%Mo/H-ZSM-5 promoted with Pd or Ir metal. The catalysts were characterized by XRD, TPD, and TGA. The addition of Pd or Ir to 6%Mo/H-ZSM-5 catalyst promoted ethylene production but inhibited the cyclization reaction to aromatics owing to the strong interaction between these noble metals and the framework Al species, which were attached to the acid sites during the impregnation process. Coke deposition on the catalysts was found to decrease upon addition of 0.5wt% of Pd or Ir to 6%Mo/H-ZSM-5 catalyst owing to the hydrogenating activity of these metals.

The garnet muscovite granitic pegmatite of Um Solimate,in southern Egypt,represents a promising asset for strategic and economic metals,especially Bi-Ni-Ag-Nb-Ta as well as U and *** ore bodies occur as large masses,pockets and/or veins of very coarse-grained pegmatites,which consist mainly of k-feldspar,quartz and albite with subordinate muscovite,garnet,and *** data revealed that e U-and e Th-contents of the pegmatites reach up to 39 ppm and 82 ppm,*** studied pegmatites are enriched in primary U and Th minerals(uraninite,coffinite,thorianite and uranothorite)as well as Hf-rich zircon and monazite,which give rise to anomalous radioactive ***-tantalium-bearing minerals(***,microlite and uranopyrochlore),xenotime,barite,galena,fluorite,and apatite are ubiquitous,and,consequently,the studied pegmatites belong tothe Niobium-Yttrium-Fluorine-type(NYF)*** noble metal mineralization includes argentite(Ag_(2)S),native Ni and Bi as well as bismite and *** addition,beryl and tourmaline are observed in pegmatites near the contact with metasediments and ultramafic *** observed compositional variations of Ta/(Ta+Nb)and Mn/(Mn+Fe)ratios in columbite(0.08-0.45 and 0.11-0.57,respectively)and Hf contents in zircon(3.54-6.46 wt%)may reflectan extreme degree of magmatic fractionation leading to formation of the pegmatite orebody.

Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is a common cause of cancer-related death,with incidence increasing ***,the overall prognosis for patients with HCC is poor and many patients present with advanced stages of disease that preclude curative *** and interventional radiologists play a key role in the management of patients with *** radiologists can use contrast-enhanced computed tomography(CT),magnetic resonance imaging,and ultrasound to diagnose and stage HCC,without the need for pathologic confirmation,by following established *** staged,the interventional radiologist can treat the appropriate patients with percutaneous ablation,transarterial chemoem-bolization,or ***-up imaging after these liver-directed therapies for HCC can be characterized according to various radiologic response criteria;although,enhancement-based criteria,such as European Association for the Study of the Liver and modified Response Evaluation Criter in Solid Tumors,are more reflective of treatment effect in *** imaging technologies like volumetric analysis,dual-energy CT,cone beam CT and perfusion CT may provide additional benefits for patients with HCC.

Geophysical Evaluation for Evidence of Recharging the Pleistocene Aquifer at El-Nubariya Area, West Nile Delta, Egypt

With ever increasing demands on water resources, Egypt is facing increasing water needs, demanded by a rapidly growing population, by higher standards of living and by an agricultural policys. West Nile Delta represents a new agricultural area where the reclaimed lands are irrigated with groundwater in addition to surface water. The evaluation of groundwater aquifers in West Nile Delta area requires information about the extension, depth and distribution and source of recharging these aquifers. In this work, an integrated study using geoelectric, geomagnetic, hydrogeologic and hydrochemistry investigations has been applied to evaluate groundwater aquifers and to delineate subsurface structures predominant in the basement rocks at El-Nubariya area, West Nile Delta, Egypt. Thirty-five Vertical Electrical Soundings (VES) have been applied to identify the subsurface geoelctric layers predominant in the study area. As well as a detailed land magnetic survey has been carried out along the study area using two automatic proton precession magnetometers with an accuracy of 1 nT. These surveys allowed us to establish the subsurface structures and their relation with the detected aquifers. The geoelectric results are illustrated along seven geoelectric profiles and correlated with the lithologic and hydrogeologic data of drilled wells. The third geoelectric layer represents the water saturated zone (aquifer) with thickness varies from 14 m to 58 m, increasing to east and southeast directions. The hydrchemisty anlysis shows that the salinity of the water aquifer ranges from 600 ppm in the southeast to 3900 ppm in the south. The major dominant dissolved salt is Nacl. In the east and southeast, the water type becomes more NaSO4 which refers to dissolution of gypsum in addition to fertilizers. Rapid development in industrialization and urbanization causes serious environmental issues,of which acid rain is one of the quintessential hazards,negatively affecting soil *** has been investigated for a long time as the most effective amendment to alter the adverse effects of soil acidity resulting from acid ***,this study tested the biochar produced from invasive plants as an alternative amendment and hypothesized that biochar can maintain better availability of macronutrients under acid rain than liming by improving soil chemical and biological ***,a pot experiment was conducted to compare the effects of lime and biochar at two rates(1%and 3%)on soil available nitrogen(N),phosphorous(P)and potassium(k)under simulated acid rain of two pH levels(4.5:pH_(4.5) and 2.5:pH_(2.5))as compared with tap water(pH7.1)as a control *** was produced using different invasive plants,including Blackjack(Biden Pilosa),Wedelia(Wedelia trilobata)and Bitter Vine(Mikania micrantha kunth).Liming decreased the availability of soil N,P,and k by 36.3%as compared with the control due to the great increment in soil pH and exchangeable calcium(Ca^(2+))by 59%and 16-fold,***,liming reduced the alpha diversity of soil bacteria and fungi by 27%and 11%,*** contrast,biochar at different types and rates resulted in a fourfold increment in the available N,P,and k as an average under acid rain(pH_(4.5) and pH_(2.5))owing to maintaining a neutral pH(6.5-7),which is the most favorable level for soil microbial and enzymatic activites,and the bioavailability of soil ***,biochar caused balanced increments in Ca^(2+)by threefold,cation exchange capacity by 45%,urease activity by 16%,and fungal diversity by 10%,while having a slight reduction in bacterial diversity by 2.5%.Based on the path,correlation,and principal component analyses,the exchangeable aluminum was a moderator for the reductions in macronutrien

Herein,iron oxide/hydroxides deposits(gossans)were utilized,for the first time,in the fabrication of magnetite nanoparticles(MNPs)to load modified coal(MC).The as-synthesized MNPs@MC composite was characterized via different techniques and utilized for the Cr(Ⅵ)*** studies supported by theoretical treatment were applied to offer a new overview of the Cr(Ⅵ)adsorption geometry and mechanism at 25-45℃.Experimental results suggested that the Cr(Ⅵ)uptake was mainly governed by adsorption-reduction coupled *** Langmuir model fitted well the Cr(Ⅵ)adsorption data with maximum adsorption capacities extended from 115.24 to 129.63 mg·g^(-1).Theoretical calculations indicated that Cr(Ⅵ)ions were adsorbed on the MNPs@MC following the theory of the advanced monolayer statistical *** number of ions removed per site ranged from 1.88 to1.23 suggesting the involvement of vertical geometry and multi-ionic mechanism at all *** increment of the active sites density and the adsorption capacity at saturation with improving temperature reflected an endothermic ***,the Cr(Ⅵ)adsorption was controlled by physical forces as the adsorption energies were less than 40 kJ·mol^(-1).The calculated free enthalpy,*** internal energy explained the spontaneous nature and the viability of Cr(Ⅵ)adsorption on the MNPs@MC *** results offer a new approach in utilizing the iron-rich deposits as gossans in the preparation of magnetic and low-cost adsorbents for wastewater remediation.

I-131 MIBG Therapy for Advanced Stage III &IV Neuroblastoma

Radio-labelled MIBG therapy has been tried in the treatment of advanced stage III and IV neuroblastoma in an attempt to improve patients outcome. The use of radiolabelled MIBG to treat neuroblastoma has arisen from the high sensitivity and specificity of in vivo MIBG imaging for detection of primary and metastatic tumours. Although, clinical trials have been performed to determine the role of MIBG therapy, the overall therapeutic strategy of MIBG therapy is not precisely defined. Aim of the work: to determine the impact of MIBG therapy on patients’ outcome especially their quality of life. Patients & methods: 42 paediatri neuroblastoma patients are included in this study, 12 (28.5%) stage III disease and 30 (71.5%) stage IV. I-131 MIBG doses ranged from 100 to 150 mCi with number of courses ranged from 1-8 according to response and toxicity. Results: Group I (stage III): 1/12 patients showed complete response, 5/12 patients had partial response and the other 6 patients remained stable. The 5 years event free survival (EFS) of stage III patients was 46.6% and the overall survival was 75%. Group II (stage IV): 2/30 patients achieved CR, 9/30 patients showed PR to I-131 MIBG and the other 18 remained stable. The 5 years event free survival (EFS) of stage IV patients was 48.2% and the overall survival was 69%. Conclusion: We conclude that 131I-MIBG therapy has favourable therapeutic effects that are translated into an overall improved outcome with good quality of life.
