Small-extracellular vesicles and their microRNA cargo from porcine follicular fluids:the potential association with oocyte quality

Background: Ovarian follicular fluids(FFs) contain several kinds of regulatory factors that maintain a suitable micro-environment for oocyte development. Extracellular vesicles(EVs) are among the factors that play essential roles in regulating follicle and oocyte development through their cargo molecules that include microRNAs(miRNAs). This study aimed to investigate small-EV(s-EV) miRNAs in porcine FFs and their potential association with oocyte ***: Individual aspirated oocytes were stained with lissamine green B stain(LB), a vital stain for oocyte quality, and each oocyte was classified as high-quality(unstained;HQ) or low-quality(stained;LQ). FFs corresponding to oocytes were pooled together into HQ and LQ groups. Small-EVs were isolated from FFs, characterized, and their miRNA cargo was identified using the Illumina Nova Seq sequencing platform. Additionally, s-EVs from the HQ and LQ groups were utilized to investigate their effect on oocyte development after co-incubation during in vitro ***: A total of 19 miRNAs(including miR-125b, miR-193a-5p, and miR-320) were significantly upregulated, while 23(including miR-9, miR-206, and miR-6516) were downregulated in the HQ compared to the LQ group. Apoptosis, p53 signaling, and cAMP signaling were among the top pathways targeted by the elevated miRNAs in the HQ group while oocyte meiosis, gap junction, and TGF-beta signaling were among the top pathways targeted by the elevated miRNAs in the LQ group. The supplementation of small-EVs during maturation does not affect the oocyte developmental rates. However, LQ s-EVs increase the proportion of oocytes with homogeneous mitochondrial distribution and decrease the proportion of heterogeneous ***: Our findings indicated that FF-EVs contain different miRNA cargos associated with oocyte quality and could affect the mitochondrial distribution patterns during oocyte maturation.

Marine microorganisms were considered to be important sources of marine bioactive *** major objective of the study was to isolate and characterize bacteria with antimicrobial activities from the various marine environment of *** this respect,thirty-five bacterial isolates were recovered from sediment samples collected from different spots along the Egyptian Red Sea coastline and Alexandria coastline during the summer season of 2017 and *** to the morphological,physiological,and biochemical characteristics,the bacterial isolates were clustered into 13 groups designated as A,B,…,***,14 Gram-negative and 21 Grampositive bacteria were *** isolated bacterial strains were screened for their potentiality for antimicrobial agent(s)production against ten indicator *** Mo13 was showed high antimicrobial activity against all empirical ***,the most promising marine bacterial isolate with code MO13 was identified as Bacillus zhangzhouensis OMER4 according to the phenotypic characterization through morphological,physiological,and biochemical tests as well as genotypic characterization through the 16 S rDNA *** bioactive components were extracted with ethyl acetate,then analyzed using GC-MS and the substantial component was recognized as phenol,2,4-bis(1,1-dimethyl ethyl).

Antioxidant Properties of Rosemary and Its Potential Uses as Natural Antioxidant in Dairy Products—A Review

Dairy products contain lipids rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids and their esters are easily oxidized by molecular oxygen over time. Deleterious changes in dairy products caused by lipid oxidation include not only loss of flavour or development of off-flavours, but also loss of colour, nutrient value, and the accumulation of compounds, which may be detrimental to the health of consumers. One of the most effective ways of retarding lipid oxidation in dairy products is to incorporate antioxidants. Sometimes synthetic phenolic antioxidant, butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA) and butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) are used to delay this oxidation. Supplementation dairy products with natural antioxidants (polyphenolic compounds) are better using than synthetic antioxidant and could be potentially. The use of rosemary as natural antioxidant in dairy products can reduce the rate of lipid oxidation and hydrolysis besides may be beneficial in increasing the shelf life of these products. This supplementation will move these products into the functional food area under new category as healthy dairy products. This literature review covers the research that has focused on rosemary as antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agent that can inhibit the lipid oxidation and have health benefits by preventing carcinogens from binding to DNA, fight and stop pain. In this review, we survey the previous studies that were conducted on the application of rosemary extract as an antioxidant to extend the shelf life and to minimize nutritional losses of dairy product.

Cardiac Rehabilitation: Future of Heart Health in Saudi Arabia, a Perceptual View

Objective: Having a heart healthy life is one of the most rewarding gifts that you can own yourself in the modern lifestyle practices. Cardiac rehabilitation (CR) is the next step to recover and reverse the limitations experienced by patients who have undergone all the adverse pathophysiological and psychological consequences of cardiac events. Design: This is a review article. The need for cardiacrehabilitation: CR describes all the methods and measures used to prevent recurrent cardiac attaches and to return people with heart diseases to an active and a satisfying lifestyle. CR services should be offered by all health professionals who are in direct contact with the patient, like cardiac specialist, general practitioner, and other health care providers. The success rate of the CR program improves dramatically when it comes in parallel with limiting modifiable risk factors of cardiovascular diseases. The CR programs not only manage episodes of cardiac events, but also it is a comprehensive tool for preventing future heart problems and improving the patients’ life standard. Goals of Cardiacrehabilitation (CR): CR program has been evolved with a wide range of indications that aims to regain autonomy and maximize the physical, psychological and social activities. This makes people with cardiac diseases more confident and inspires behaviors that may minimize risk of further cardiac events. Thevision to improve CR in Saudi Arabia: This article will focus on the methods and parameters that will lead to an improvement in the CR services in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

在学习的过程中,学习者的学习行为对他们的学习效果往往具有一定的影响。透过对学习者在学习行为上的研究,教育者不仅能够引导学习者培养良好积极的学习行为,也能一针见血地纠正学习者消极恶劣的学习行为。在第二语言习得中的情况亦是如此,所以本研究以艾因夏姆斯大学中文系学生为研究对象,使用了问卷调查和面对面访谈的方法对该校中文系学生在汉语言的学习行为进行了调查和研究。本研究的主要目的是透过调查、研究及分析该校中文系学生的学习行为情况,情绪的焦虑的水平、教师性格及教学风格对学习者学习行为的影响,并结合调查研究情况及艾大汉语教学现状提出相关建议。本研究一共分成六个部分。绪论为论文第一章,所包含的内容有研究背景与意义、研究思路与方法和文献综述;第二章是艾因夏姆斯大学语言学院中文系汉语教学概况;第三章是针对艾大中文系学生的汉语学习行为进行调查,其中包括了理论假设、调查问卷的拟定及编制、问卷调查发放及回收的过程和对问卷调查结果所进行的分析;第四章是艾因夏姆斯大学汉语学习者汉语学习行为分析与讨论,包括理论假设分析与学习者使用汉语交谈分析以及影响学习行为的因素;第五章是基于艾因夏姆斯大学汉语学习者在汉语学习行为方面所提出的建议;第六章是结语,包括结论以及研究创新与研究不足。结合调查数据和访谈内容,本研究的主要发现有以下四点。第一、大一及大二的中文系学生的学习行为比大三及大四学生更加积极。第二、中文系女学生的学习行为比男学生更加积极。第三、中文系学生学习行为的四个维度与汉语成绩之间都存在正相关的关系。第四、焦虑的情绪、教师性格、教学风格在课堂上对学习者的学习行为具有影响。针对本研究所得出的结论,并结合艾因夏姆斯大学语言学院中文系的实际教学情况,本文针对艾因夏姆斯大学的汉语教学也提出了四项建议。第一、根据学生的不同学习特点和兴趣进而有针对性地培养或纠正他们的学习行为。第二、由于不同年级和不同性别的中文系学生在学习行为存在差异,所以在学习行为的培养上应重视因材施教。第三、基于学生不同的学习行为设计课堂教学。第四、降低学生在汉语学习上的焦虑。

Suppression of NLRP3 inflammasome by ivermectin ameliorates bleomycin-induced pulmonary fibrosis

Ivermectin is a US Food and Drug Administration(FDA)-approved antiparasitic agent with antiviral and anti-inflammatory *** recent studies reported the possible anti-inflammatory activity of ivermectin in respiratory injuries,its potential therapeutic effect on pulmonary fibrosis(PF)has not been *** study aimed to explore the ability of ivermectin(0.6 mg/kg)to alleviate bleomycin-induced biochemical derangements and histological changes in an experimental PF rat *** can provide the means to validate the clinical utility of ivermectin as a treatment option for idiopathic *** results showed that ivermectin mitigated the bleomycin-evoked pulmonary injury,as manifested by the reduced infiltration of inflammatory cells,as well as decreased the inflammation and fibrosis ***,ivermectin decreased collagen fiber deposition and suppressed transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1)and fibronectin protein expression,highlighting its anti-fibrotic *** study revealed for the first time that ivermectin can suppress the nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain(NOD)-like receptor family pyrin domain-containing protein 3(NLRP3)inflammasome,as manifested by the reduced gene expression of NLRP3 and the apoptosis-associated speck-like protein containing a caspase recruitment domain(ASC),with a subsequent decline in the interleukin-1β(IL-1β)*** addition,ivermectin inhibited the expression of intracellular nuclear factor-κB(NF-κB)and hypoxia‑inducible factor‑1α(HIF-1α)proteins along with lowering the oxidative stress and apoptotic ***,this study revealed that ivermectin could ameliorate pulmonary inflammation and fibrosis induced by *** beneficial effects were mediated,at least partly,via the downregulation of TGF-β1 and fibronectin,as well as the suppression of NLRP3 inflammasome through modulating the expression of HIF‑1αand NF-κB.

Analysis of the Onco-Vascular Approach in Retroperitoneal Sarcoma with Vascular Involvement

Background: Due to the limited number of clinical series and the lack of multi-institutional or national registries concerning retroperitoneal sarcoma (RPS) extending to major arterio-venous structures, the short and long-term benefits following concomitant resection of these major structures are still antagonistic. Objective: To present our institutional experience with RPS tumors, to assess their vascular involvement and to analyze the outcomes of onco-vascular approach. Patients and methods: A retrospective review of our institutional RPS patients’ clinical charts was performed. All consecutive adult patients surgically treated for RPS were included. Resection of RPS tumors was followed by histopathological examination for grading. Types of vascular involvement were assessed preoperatively. RPS tumors were resected en bloc together with blood vessels according to the type of vascular involvement and the surgical standards. Results: This study included 14 patients;8 males (57%) and 6 females (43%) with RPS. Vascular resection was performed in all patients. Adherent structures were resected in 43%. Resection was performed for 29% RPSs with arterial venous involvement, 14% with only arterial involvement, and 57% with only venous involvement. All RPSs were classified as high-grade lesions, and 64% showed secondarily major vessels involvement. 43% of patients were treated by arterial resection. 80% had venous involvement. Venous resections were followed by venous reconstruction in all patients with both arterial and venous involvement. The morbidity rate was 43% while the mortality rate was 7%. Conclusion: Complete resection with clear margins is important for long-term survival in patients with retroperitoneal soft tissue sarcomas.
