This paper introduces an Improved RC6(IRC6)cipher for data encryption based on data-dependent *** proposed scheme is designed with the potential of meeting the needs of the Advanced encryption Standard(AeS).Four parameters are used to characterize the proposed *** parameters are the size of the word(w)in bits,the number of rounds(r),the length of the secret key(b)in bytes,and the size of the block(L)in *** main feature of IRC6 is the variable number of working registers instead of just four registers as in RC6,resulting in a variable block size for plaintext and *** IRC6 cipher is designed to improve the robustness against attacks by increasing the diffusion for each round and providing greater security with fewer *** effectiveness of the proposed IRC6 scheme is verified against theoretical *** proposed IRC6 scheme depends on full diffusion and confusion mechanisms regardless of the utilized block *** proposed IRC6 scheme saves 70%of the encryption time and 64%of the decryption time of *** simulation results prove that the IRC6 achieves a better encryption/decryption time compared to the ***,the proposed IRC6 is anticipated to fulfill the market needs and system security requirements.

Metal-substituted cobalt ferrites [MxCo(1-x)Fe2O4(M=Zn,Cu,Mn;x=0.0,0.25,0.5,and 0.75)]were synthesized via a sol-gel *** ferrite structures were confirmed by X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,scanning electron microscopy,surface analysis using the Brunauer-emmett-Teller method,and energy-dispersive X-ray *** activity of these ferrites against selected pathogenic microbes was *** structures remained cubic spinel phases after substitution of *** strongly influenced the microstructure and homoge- neous grain *** particle size of the ferrites increased linearly with increase in their annealing *** surface area of zinc cobalt ferrite nanoparticles (ZCFO)was 52.56m^2/g,the average pore size was 1.84nm,and pore volume was 0.136mL/*** ferrites showed antimicrobial activity toward all pathogens *** these,the most powerful was ZCFO,showing zones of inhibition of 13.0mm against Bacillus subtilis and Staphylococcus aureus and 12.0mm against Candida ***-irradiated ZCFO nanoparticles (150.0kGy)maintained higher antimicrobial activity than non-irradiated particles,e.g. being active toward *** (16.0mm).ZCFO is proposed as a candidate material for industrial and biomedical purposes.

Healthcare systems nowadays depend on IoT sensors for sending data over the internet as a common *** ofmedical images is very important to secure patient *** these images consumes a lot of time onedge computing;therefore,theuse of anauto-encoder for compressionbefore encodingwill solve such a *** this paper,we use an auto-encoder to compress amedical image before encryption,and an encryption output(vector)is sent out over the *** the other hand,a decoder was used to reproduce the original image back after the vector was received and *** convolutional neural networks were conducted to evaluate our proposed approach:The first one is the auto-encoder,which is utilized to compress and encrypt the images,and the other assesses the classification accuracy of the image after decryption and *** hyperparameters of the encoder were tested,followed by the classification of the image to verify that no critical information was lost,to test the encryption and encoding *** this approach,sixteen hyperparameter permutations are utilized,but this research discusses three main cases in *** first case shows that the combination of Mean Square Logarithmic error(MSLe),ADAgrad,two layers for the auto-encoder,and RelU had the best auto-encoder results with a Mean Absolute error(MAe)=0.221 after 50 epochs and 75%classification with the best result for the classification *** second case shows the reflection of auto-encoder results on the classification results which is a combination ofMean Square error(MSe),RMSprop,three layers for the auto-encoder,and RelU,which had the best classification accuracy of 65%,the auto-encoder gives MAe=0.31 after 50 *** third case is the worst,which is the combination of the hinge,RMSprop,three layers for the auto-encoder,and RelU,providing accuracy of 20%and MAe=0.485.

Preparation and characterization of (CeO2)x-(Fe2O3)1-x nanocomposites:reduction kinetics and hydrogen storage

A series of nanosized CeO2-Fe2O3 mixed-oxide nanocomposites with different Ce4+/Fe3+molar ratios were successfully prepared by a co-precipitation *** surface area increased with Fe2O3 content increasing up to 60 wt%in the ***,with further increase in Fe2O3 content,the surface area began to *** reduction processes of the CeO2-Fe2O3 nanocomposites were studied in a hydrogen atmosphere at 300-600℃.The reduction rates increased by increasing both the temperature and Fe2O3 content in the *** microstructure of the reduced composites at 500℃illustrated the presence of a considerable number of macro-and *** activation energy values were calculated which were in the range of 3.56-5.37 kJ mol-1 at the initial stages(up to 35%reduction)and 5.21-10.2 kJ·mol-1 at the final stages(up to 80%reduction)of *** rate-controlling mechanisms in both the initial and final reduction stages were determined,and the initial reaction stage was controlled by combined gaseous diffusion and interfacial chemical reaction mechanisms for all the composites except for pure CeO2,which was controlled by a chemical reaction *** final reaction stage was controlled by a gaseous diffusion mechanism for some composites,while for the others it was controlled by combined gaseous diffusion and interfacial chemical reaction *** hydrogen sorption properties of the nanocomposites were studied by pressure composition isotherms using a volumetric *** storage in the nanocomposites increased by increasing the temperature because of the formation of oxygen vacancies which enhance atomic H adsorption and function as strong adsorption sites forming more metal hydride covalent bonds.

Low-voltage ride-through capability improvement of Type-3 wind turbine through active disturbance rejection feedback control-based dynamic voltage restorer

Disconnections due to voltage drops in the grid cannot be permitted if wind turbines(WTs)contribute significantly to electricity pro-duction,as this increases the risk of production loss and destabilizes the *** mitigate the negative effects of these occurrences,WTs must be able to ride through the low-voltage conditions and inject reactive current to provide dynamic voltage *** paper investigates the low-voltage ride-through(LVRT)capability enhancement of a Type-3 WT utilizing a dynamic voltage restorer(DVR).During the grid voltage drop,the DVR quickly injects a compensating voltage to keep the stator voltage *** paper proposes an active disturbance rejection control(ADRC)scheme to control the rotor-side,grid-side and DVR-side converters in a wind–DVR integrated *** performance of the Type-3 WT with DVR topology is evaluated under various test conditions using MATLAB®/Simulink®.These simulation results are also compared with the experimental results for the LVRT capability performed on a WT emulator equipped with a crowbar and direct current(DC)*** simulation results demonstrate a favourable transient and steady-state response of the Type-3 wind turbine quantities defined by the LVRT codes,as well as improved reactive power support under balanced fault *** the most severe voltage drop of 95%,the stator currents,rotor currents and DC bus voltage are 1.25 pu,1.40 pu and 1.09 UDC,respectively,conforming to the values of the LVRT *** controlled by the ADRC technique significantly increases the LVRT capabilities of a Type-3 doubly-fed induction generator-based WT under symmetrical voltage dip *** setting up ADRC controllers might be challenging,the proposed method has been shown to be extre.ely effective in reducing all kinds of internal and external disturbances.

Trends and outcomes of pancreaticoduodenectomy for periampullary tumors: A 25-year single-center study of 1000 consecutive cases

AIM To evaluate the evolution, trends in surgical approaches a n d r e c o n s t r u c t i o n t e c h n i q u e s, a n d i m p o r t a n t lessons learned from performing 1000 consecutive pancreaticoduodenectomies(PDs) for periampullary *** This is a retrospective review of the data of all patients who underwent PD for periampullary tumor during the period from January 1993 to April 2017. The data were categorized into three periods, including early period(1993-2002), middle period(2003-2012), and late period(2013-2017).ReSULTS The frequency showed PD was increasingly performed after the year 2000. With time, elderly, cirrhotic and obese patients, as well as patients with uncinate process carcinoma and borderline tumor were increasingly selected for PD. The median operative time and postoperative hospital stay decreased significantly over the periods. Hospital mortality declined significantly, from 6.6% to 3.1%. Postoperative complications significantly decreased, from 40% to 27.9%. There was significant decrease in postoperative pancreatic fistula in the second 10 years, from 15% to 12.7%. There was a significant improvement in median survival and overall survival among the *** Surgical results of PD significantly improved, with mortality rate nearly reaching 3%. Pancreatic reconstruction following PD is still debatable. The survival rate was also improved but the rate of recurrence is still high, at 36.9%.

estimation of radiation hazard indices from natural radioactivity of some rocks

Different samples of igneous and metamorphic rocks from egypt and Germany have been considered to measure γ-ray activity concentrations due to naturally occurring, potentially hazardous radonuclides 226Ra, 232Th and 40K. The radiation hazard parameters including radiation equivalent activity, gamma-absorbed dose rate, and exter- nal and internal hazard indices have been estimated. The gamma-absorbed dose rates in air of rocks in egypt range from 4.2 to 128.5 nGy·h-1 with a mean value of 55.3 nGy·h-1. For igneous and metamorphic rocks from Germany, the values of absorbed dose rates fluctuate from 5.1 to 148.6 nGy·h-1, with a mean value of 60.9 nGy·h-1. Generally, it is found that the radiation hazard indices in common igneous rocks are distinctly higher in acidic than in ultrabasic rocks. The results are discussed and compared with the corresponding published data.

Predictors of long-term survival after pancreaticoduodenectomy for peri-ampullary adenocarcinoma: A retrospective study of 5-year survivors

Background: Pancreaticoduodenectomy(PD) is the standard curative treatment for periampullary tumors. The aim of this study is to report the incidence and predictors of long-term survival( ≥ 5 years) after PD. Methods: This study included patients who underwent PD for pathologically proven periampullary adenocarcinomas. Patients were divided into 2 groups: group(I) patients who survived less than 5 years and group(II) patients who survived ≥ 5 years. Results: There were 47(20.6%) long-term survivors( ≥ 5 years) among 228 patients underwent PD for periampullary adenocarcinoma. Patients with ampullary adenocarcinoma represented 31(66.0%) of the long-term survivors. Primary analysis showed that favourable factors for long-term survival include age ears old, serum CeA erum CA 19-9 er, tumor size e of primary tumor, postoperative pancreatic fistula, R0 resection, postoperative chemotherapy, and no recurrence. Multivariate analysis demonstrated that CA 19-9 er tumor size [OR(95% CI) = 1.335(1.032–1.726), P = 0.028] and R0 resection [OR(95% CI) = 3.098(2.095–4.582), P ere independent factors for survival ≥ 5 years. The prognosis was best for ampullary adenocarcinoma, for which the median survival was 54 months and 5-year survival rate was 39.0%, and the poorest was pancreatic head adenocarcinoma, for which the median survival was 27 months and 5-year survival rate was 7%. Conclusions: The majority of long-term survivors after PD for periampullary adenocarcinoma are patients with ampullary tumor. CA 19-9 er tumor size, and R0 resection were found to be independent factors for long-term survival ≥ 5 years.
