Introduction: Expert opinions presented in legal proceedings should be scientifically accountable, which is known as evidence-based practice (EBP). Although forensic medical expert opinions are essential in legal proceedings, the methods used to formulate them are not always evidence based or based on standard methods. In forensic medicine, EBP has not been explicitly applied, including in Indonesia. One potential approach to formulate evidence-based expert opinions is called INtegration of Forensic Epidemiology and the Rigorous EvaluatioN of Causation Elements (INFERENCE). In addition, there is also no universal guideline for making forensic pathological reports. One prospective guideline is named the Principles of Evidence-based Reporting in FORensic Medicine-Pathology version (PERFORM-P). Methods: This article describes the validation process of INFERENCE and PERFORM-P in Indonesia. This study uses a mixed method through three interrelated phases, i.e., (1) a cross-sectional survey to determine the characteristics of Indonesian forensic doctors and their current practice, (2) the adaptation and validation process of the two tools through a review by the Indonesian College of Forensic Medicine, and (3) a one-group pre-postintervention study to assess the validity and reliability of forensic medical expert opinions formulated using Indonesian-INFERENCE (i-INFERENCE) and reported using Indonesian-PERFORM-P (i-PERFORM-P). Results and Discussion: In general, both tools received a positive reception and can potentially be used in the Indonesian setting with some additions/clarifications in the user manuals. Participants envision that both tools will be most useful in complex cases. Conclusions: By obtaining the i-INFERENCE and the i-PERFORM-P, it is hoped that Indonesian forensic medical doctors are better equipped in analyzing and reporting complex cases, and the implementation of EBP can be improved.

Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection among children under fifteen years of age:A population-based study in Indonesia

Objective:To assess the prevalence of Mycobacterium(M.)tuberculosis infection and its associated risks in children under fifteen years of ***:Based on secondary data from the 2018 Indonesian Basic Health Survey(RISKESDAS 2018),this cross-sectional study employed *** infection in children as a dependent variable and age level,sex,region,location,family case positive,and smoking as independent *** analysis was applied to show the prevalence of *** infection and multivariate regression was performed to analyze the risk factors of getting the infection among children under 15 years of ***:Prevalence ranges of *** infection among children aged 0-14 years,babies(age<12 months),toddlers(age 12-59 months),and children aged between 5 and 14 years were 0.03%to 0.57%,0%to 0.64%,0%to 0.78%,and 0.01%to 0.53%,respectively in Indonesia.A high prevalence of *** infection among children under 15 years of age was found in Papua and other provinces,such as Kalimantan and *** with tuberculosis family members was positively associated with *** infection in children as shown by multivariate logistic regression(OR 8.94;95%CI 5.4-14.6,P<0.05).Conclusions:Contacting with family member who has tuberculosis is related with *** infection among children in ***,screening the household for contact with tuberculosis patients is a preventive treatment for children.

Study on Deactivation and Regeneration of Modified Red Mud Catalyst Used in Biodiesel Production

Deactivation of solid catalyst often occurs in biodiesel production. In this work, deactivated modified red mud catalysts used in biodiesel production were regenerated with hexane and calcination treatments. The deactivated and regenerated catalysts were characterized using XRD, FTIR, SEM, TG, N2 adsorption, measured for their basic strength, and tested in the transesterification of canola oil. The results revealed that the main cause of the catalyst deactivation is due to obstruction of the active sites by contaminants. The regeneration by washing with hexane followed by calcination can effectively improve the properties of the deactivated catalyst and increase its catalytic activity.

Work-Family Conflict in Nursing: The Role of Work Schedules, Familial Antecedents and Emotional Regulation

This paper explores the influences of Emotional Regulation (ER) and work schedules on work-family conflict (WFC) among Italian nurses, also accounting for some familial variables. The data used in this study come from a survey conducted on 191 nurses working in two public hospitals of Tuscany (Italy). Stepwise multiple regressions were applied to examine the relationships among these variables, using the WFC as dependent variable. We found that some work related dimensions had direct effects on WFC outcomes;however, these impacts on the criterion variables are modified by the effects exerted by specific ER strategies.

Identification of Noisy Utterance Speech Signal using GA-Based Optimized 2D-MFCC Method and a Bispectrum Analysis

One-dimensional Mel-Frequency Cepstrum Coefficients (1D-MFCC) in conjunction with a power spectrum analysis method is usually used as a feature extraction in a speaker identification system. However, as this one dimensional feature extraction subsystem shows low recognition rate for identifying an utterance speech signal under harsh noise conditions, we have developed a speaker identification system based on two-dimensional Bispectrum data that was theoretically more robust to the addition of Gaussian noise. As the processing sequence of ID-MFCC method could not be directly used for processing the two-dimensional Bispectrum data, in this paper we proposed a 2D-MFCC method as an extension of the 1D-MFCC method and the optimization of the 2D filter design using Genetic Algorithms. By using the 2D-MFCC method with the Bispectrum analysis method as the feature extraction technique, we then used Hidden Markov Model as the pattern classifier. In this paper, we have experimentally shows our developed methods for identifying an utterance speech signal buried with various levels of noise. Experimental result shows that the 2D-MFCC method without GA optimization has a comparable high recognition rate with that of 1D-MFCC method for utterance signal without noise addition. However, when the utterance signal is buried with Gaussian noises, the developed 2D-MFCC shows higher recognition capability, especially, when the 2D-MFCC optimized by Genetics Algorithms is utilized.

全球化的发展日新月异,处于新兴市场国家的印尼正逐步融入全球经济,企业纷纷加大了国际化步伐。印尼企业董事会是企业战略决策和实施的主体,在实施国际化战略中发挥了重要的作用。已有研究较少以印尼企业为研究对象探讨公司治理结构、国际化战略对企业绩效的影响。本研究以印尼制造业上市公司为研究对象,整合高阶梯队理论、资源依赖理论,通过理论模型构建,假设提出和实证检验,探讨董事背景、国际化战略与企业绩效的关系,将丰富相关研究内容。本研究首先对研究对象即印尼制造业进行实际背景的阐述,同时对相关理论背景进行整理以及归纳,根据研究背景提出研究问题以及目标后,进一步针对研究主题进行文献综述和分析,从而提炼出本研究主题的主要假设。基于以上思路,针对本研究设计研究模型以及具体分析方法,同时利用所获得并且整理后的二手数据,2016-2020年印尼制造业上市公司数据,运用Stata16进行统计分析。对本研究假设进行检验以及确保研究的稳健性。最后对于本研究结果进行总结并且提出有效建议以及研究展望。研究结果表明:第一、海外工作背景董事对于企业绩效有正向影响;第二、关联背景董事对企业绩效有负向影响,但具有海外经历的关联背景董事对企业绩效有正向影响;第三、国际化程度在海外工作背景董事与企业绩效之间具有部分中介作用。本研究成果不仅丰富了公司治理、国际化战略的研究内容,拓展了高阶梯队理论应用空间,而且还为印尼制造企业国际化提供理论指导,帮助企业顺利进入国际市场,不断提高国际竞争力。

Numerical and experimental analyses of rock failure mechanisms due to microwave treatment

Despite the extensive studies conducted on the effectiveness of microwave treatment as a novel rock preconditioning method,there is yet to find reliable data on the rock failure mechanisms due to microwave *** addition,there is no significant discussion on the energy efficiency of the method as one of the important factors among the mining and geotechnical engineers in the *** study presents a novel experimental method to evaluate two main rock failure mechanisms due to microwave treatment without applying any mechanical forces,*** and concentrated *** result shows that the existence of a small and concentrated fraction of a strong microwave absorbing mineral will change the failure mechanism from the distributed heating to the concentrated heating,which can increase the weakening over microwave efficiency(WOME)by more than 10 *** observation is further investigated using the developed coupled numerical *** is shown that at the same input energy,the existence of microwave absorbing minerals can cause major heat concentration inside the rock and increase the maximum temperature by up to three times.

Effect of Leachate Recirculation on Characteristics of Leachate Generation of Municipal Solid Waste from Landfill Lysimeter

The objectives of this study are to determine the characteristics of leachates generated from landfill lysimeters of municipal solid waste. Two lysimeters with diameter and height of 0.70 and 2.40 m, respectively, were prepared. The lysimeters were operated with and without leachate recirculation. The leachate produced were quantified and characterised every day for the quantity, pH and ORP （oxidation reduction potential）. Meanwhile, the BOD and COD parameters were characterised every once week. Based on the data of experimental results that the lysimeter with a recirculation gave positive effects on the degradation of waste in landfills, that is the degradation process becomes faster. This is indicated by the quantity and quality of leachate generated. The lyisimeter conducted with recirculation of leachate shew the quantity of leachate generated larger than the lysimeter without recirculation. While the quality of the leachate includes pH, ORP, made it shown that the degradation process is faster. These results operations, especially for young waste. BOD and COD indicate that leachate recirculation on lysismeter suggest that leachate recirculation can be performed on landfills

Impact of Drought Stress during Germination on Antioxidant Capacities and Antioxidant Enzymes Activities of Madura Local Maize (<i>Zea mays</i>) Seeds

The effect of various polyethylene glycol (PEG) concentrations to induced drought stress on the antioxidant capacities and antioxidant enzyme activities was investigated on Madura local maize during germination. Seed samples were treated under 5%, 10%, and 15% of PEG for 6 days. The changes in the antioxidant capacities such as 2,2’-azino-bis-3-ethylbenzthiazoline-6-sulphonic acid (ABTS) and hydroxyl radical scavenging;antioxidant enzyme activities including catalase (CAT) and ascorbate peroxidase (APX) and gene expression were observed during seeds germination. The result showed the antioxidants capacities and enzyme activities exhibited a significantly higher level in drought-treated. The most effective level of drought stress to elevate the capabilities and enzyme activity of antioxidant as well as it gene expression was observed at 15% PEG, whereas ABTS scavenging activity was increased 20% over the control, hydroxyl scavenging activity up to 14%, CAT and APX activity increased 4 - 5 times over the control. Along with the presence of antioxidant mechanisms, including the capacities and activities of different types of ABTS+, hydroxyl, CAT, and APX might play important roles during the germination phase and be able to manage reactive oxygen species to the normal level under stress condition.
