Gastrointestinal infections are a major cause for serious clinical complications in *** induction of antibody responses by B cells is critical for protective immunity against infections and requires CXCR5+PD-1++CD4+T cells(TfH cells).We investigated the ontogeny of CXCR5+PD-1++CD4+T cells in human *** CXCR5+PD-1++CD4+T cells were absent in fetal intestines,CXCR5+PD-1++CD4+T cells increased after birth and were abundant in infant intestines,resulting in significant higher numbers compared to *** findings were supported by scRNAseq analyses,showing increased frequencies of CD4+T cells with a TfH gene signature in infant intestines compared to ***-cultures of autologous infant intestinal CXCR5+PD-1+/−CD4+T cells with B cells further demonstrated that infant intestinal TfH cells were able to effectively promote class switching and antibody production by B *** together,we demonstrate that functional TfH cells are numerous in infant intestines,making them a promising target for oral pediatric vaccine strategies.

As the sole obligate symbiotic birds in Africa, oxpeckers offer a unique model for studying symbiotic relationships. Due to the multitrophic level they occupy and the context dependent foraging behavior they exhibit, the type of symbiotic relationship can be variable. In addition to providing a cleaning service to the host by removing ticks, oxpeckers frequently feed on blood, mucus, and saliva, inflicting potential damage on the host. Here, we used DNA metabarcoding on faecal samples to analyze the taxonomic composition of the trophic interactions of the Yellow-billed Oxpecker(Buphagus africanus) and Red-billed Oxpecker(B. erythrorhynchus) in northeastern Namibia. In contrast to conventional methods, DNA metabarcoding allows for a detailed identification of dietary resources encompassing both mammal hosts and consumed arthropods within the same samples. With this information, we examined differences in the diet composition between oxpecker species and localities, as well as the co-occurrence between host and arthropod species. Our findings revealed that oxpeckers predominantly source their diet from mammals, ticks, and flies; however, ticks and flies rarely co-occur in the diet of an individual. We observed variability among individuals in their feeding ecology, which is strongly correlated with locality and, to a lesser extent, with the mammal host. We noted a high degree of mobility between hosts within relatively short periods, with 32% of the samples showing traces of at least two mammal hosts. This study illustrates the dynamic foraging behavior of these specialized symbiotic birds, shedding light on their potential role in pest control services and disease transmission.

By using muon spin relaxation（μSR） measurements, we perform a comparative study of the microscopic magnetism in the parent compounds of infinite-layer nickelate superconductors RNiO2（R = La, Nd）. In either compound, the zero-field μSR spectra down to the lowest measured temperature reveal no long-range magnetic order.

Genetic outcomes from the translocations of the critically endangered woylie

Translocations are an important conservation strategy for many species. However simply observing demographic growth of a translocated population is not sufficient to infer species recovery. Adequate genetic representation of the source population（s） and their long-term viability should also be considered. The woylie Bettongia penicillata ogilbyi has been subject to more formal translocations for conservation than any other marsupial that, up until recently, has resulted in one of the most suc- cessful species recoveries in Australia. We used mitochondrial and nuclear DNA markers to assess the genetic outcomes of trans- located woylie populations. These populations have lost genetic variability, differentiated fxom their source population and the supplementation program on two island populations appears to have failed. We discuss the conservation implications that our re- suits have for managing threatened species, outline some general recommendations for the management of present and future translocations and discuss the appropriate sampling design for the establishment of new populations or captive breeding programs that may mitigate the genetic ＇erosion＇ seen in our study species. This research provides some practical outcomes and a pragmatic understanding of translocation biology. The findings are directly applicable to other translocation programs .

Automated recognition and mapping of building management system (BMS) data points for building energy modeling (BEM)

With the advance of the internet of things and building management system(BMS)in modern buildings,there is an opportunity of using the data to extend the use of building energy modeling(BEM)beyond the design *** applications include retrofit analysis,measurement and verification,and operations and ***,while BMS is collecting a vast amount of operation data,different suppliers and sensor installers typically apply their own customized or even random non-uniform rules to define the metadata,i.e.,the point *** results in a need to interpret and manually map any BMS data before using it for energy *** mapping process is labor-intensive,error-prone,and requires comprehensive prior ***,BMS metadata typically has considerable variety and limited context information,limiting the applicability of existing interpreting *** this paper,we proposed a text mining framework to facilitate interpreting and mapping BMS points to EnergyPlus *** framework is based on unsupervised density-based clustering(DBSCAN)and a novel fuzzy string matching algorithm“X-gram”.Therefore,it is generalizable among different buildings and naming *** compare the proposed framework against commonly used baselines that include morphological analysis and widely used text mining *** two building cases from Singapore and two from the United States,we demonstrated that the framework outperformed baseline methods by 25.5%,with the measurement extraction f-measure of 87.2%and an average mapping accuracy of 91.4%.

functional Interaction of the SNARE Protein NtSyp121 in Ca^2＋ Channel Gating, Ca^2＋ Transientsand ABA Signalling of Stomatal Guard Cells

There is now growing evidence that membrane vesicle trafficking proteins, especially of the superfamily of SNAREs, are critical for cellular signalling in plants. Work from this laboratory first demonstrated that a soluble, inhibitory （dominant-negative） fragment of the SNARE NtSyp121 blocked K^＋ and CI^- channel responses to the stress-related hormone abscisic acid （ABA）, but left open a question about functional impacts on signal intermediates, especially on Ca^2＋-mediated signalling events. Here, we report one mode of action for the SNARE mediated directly through alterations in Ca^2＋ channel gating and its consequent effects on cytosolic-free [Ca^2＋] （[Ca^2＋]i） elevation. We find that expressing the same inhibitory fragment of NtSyp121 blocks ABA-evoked stomatal closure, but only partially suppresses stomatal closure in the presence of the NO donor, SNAP, which promotes [Ca^2＋]i elevation independently of the plasma membrane Ca^2＋ channels. Consistent with these observations, Ca^2＋ channel gating at the plasma membrane is altered by the SNARE fragment in a manner effective in reducing the potential for triggering a rise in [Ca^2＋]i, and we show directly that its expression in vivo leads to a pronounced suppression of evoked [Ca^2＋]i transients. These observations offer primary evidence for the functional coupling of the SNARE with Ca^2＋ channels at the plant cell plasma membrane and, because [Ca^2＋]i plays a key role in the control of K^＋ and CI^- channel currents in guard cells, they underscore an important mechanism for SNARE integration with ion channel regulation during stomatal closure.

Electrochemical behaviour of Ti alloys containing Mo and Ta as β-stabilizer elements for dental application

Corrosion behaviour of the studied Ti12Mo and Ti60Ta alloys with the same Mo equivalent values （12%, mass fraction） together with the currently used metallic biomaterials Cp-Ti were investigated for dental applications. The electrochemical properties of the samples were examined using electrochemical techniques： such as open-circuit potential, potentiodynamic polarization curves and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy （EIS）, in two electrochemical media of artificial saliva and fluoridated artificial saliva （0.1%fluoride ions, f-） at 37 °C. fluoride is commonly included in toothpastes, odontological gels and dental rinses to prevent dental caries and relieve dental sensitivity. The passive behaviour for all the titanium samples is observed for both solutions. The Ti60Ta alloy appears to possess superior corrosion resistance than the Ti12Mo and Cp-Ti in both electrochemical media.

Switched-capacitor Multi-level Inverter with Equal Distribution of the Capacitors Discharging Phases

A new switched-capacitor(2n+1)levels inverter with a single input source and equal charge of the capacitors at the input voltage V_(in) is *** with its peers from the same class of inverters,the proposed one features an equal or lower components count referred to the boost ***,it presents an additional advantage:each voltage level can be obtained by using different capacitors in the discharging phase,such that the decreasing part of the staircase output waveform can be synthesized with different switching topologies than those used in the increasing *** a consequence,all the capacitors are discharged at the same voltage value at the end of each half-cycle,allowing for the use of smaller capacitors of equal *** the capacitors are connected in parallel in the charging phase,there is no need to equalize their voltages,so no additional current spikes *** also implies less electromagnetic emission(EMI).Two types of modulation strategies are proposed.A half-height fundamental switching frequency modulation strategy allows for reaching the desired peak of the output voltage during the highest voltage level *** is advantageous in application of the inverter as a front end of a grid supplied by green sources of energy.A high frequency(f_(s)=200 kHz)modulation strategy accompanied by a duty-cycle control is advantageous for applications which require miniaturization.A 9-level switched-capacitor multi-level inverter(SCMLI)is analyzed and *** power losses are *** experimental results for a 9-level inverter with V_(in)=40 V,V_(out)=110 Vrms 50 Hz,200 W confirm the theoretical expectations.
