Cholangiocarcinoma(CCA)is an aggressive malignancy arising from the biliary *** may occur at any location along the biliary tree with the perihilar area being the most *** is poor with 5-year overall survival at less than 10%,typically due to unresectable disease at *** surgical resection with clear margins offers a chance of cure in patients with resectable tumours,but is frequently not possible due to locally advanced *** the other hand,orthotopic liver transplantation(LT)allows for a radical and potentially curative resection for these patients,but has been historically controversial due to the limited supply of donor grafts and previously poor *** patients with perihilar CCA,within specific criteria and following the implementation of a protocol combining neoadjuvant chemoradiation and LT,excellent results have been achieved in the last decades,resulting in its increasing acceptance as an indication for LT and the standard of care in several centres with significant ***,in intrahepatic CCA,the role of LT remains controversial and owing to dismal previous results it is not an accepted ***,more recent studies have demonstrated favourable results with LT in early intrahepatic CCA,indicating that,under defined criteria,its role may increase in the *** review highlights the history and contemporary advances of LT in CCA,with particular focus on the improving outcomes of LT in intrahepatic and perihilar CCA and future perspectives.

Day case vs inpatient total shoulder arthroplasty: A retrospective cohort study and cost-effectiveness analysis

Phonon Dispersion in Equiatomic Li-Based Binary Alloys

The computations of the phonon dispersion curves （PDC） of four equiatomic Li-based binary alloys, namely Li0.5Na0.5, Li0.5K0.5, Li0.5Rb0.5 and Li0.5Cs0.5, to second order in the local model potential is discussed in terms of the real-space sum of Born von Karman central force constants. Instead of the concentration average of the force constants of metallic Li, Na, K, Rb and Cs, the pseudo-alloy atom （PAA） is adopted to compute directly the force constants of four equiatomic Li-based binary alloys. The exchange and correlation functions due to Hartree （H） and Ichimaru-Utsumi （IU） are used to investigate the influence of screening effects. The phonon frequencies of four equiatomic Li-based binary alloys in the longitudinal branch are more sensitive to the exchange and correlation effects in comparison with the transverse branches. However, the frequencies in the longitudinal branch are suppressed due to IU-screening function than the frequencies due to static H-screening function.

Superconducting State Parameters of CucZr100-c Binary Amorphous Alloys by Pseudopotential Approach

We present the screening dependence theoretical investigations of the superconducting state parameters, i.e. electron-phonon coupling strength A, Coulomb pseudopotential μ＊, transition temperature To, isotope effect exponent α, and effective interaction strength NoV of some CucZr100-c （C = 25, 30, 33, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 57, 60 at.%） binary amorphous alloys by employing the well-known empty core model potential of Ashcroft. Five screening functions proposed by Hartree, Taylor, Ichimaru-Utsumi, Farid et al. and Sarkar et al. are used to study the screening influence on the aforesaid superconducting properties. The transition temperature Tc obtained from the Ichimaru-Utsumi screening function is found to be in excellent agreement with available theoretical or experimental data. Also, the present results are found in qualitative agreement with the other earlier reported data, which confirms the superconducting phase in the amorphous alloys.

We present screening dependence theoretical investigations of the superconducting state parameters, i.e. electron-phonon coupling strength λ, Coulomb pseudopotential μ＊, transition temperature TC, isotope effect exponent α, and effective interaction strength N0V, of some BMG superconductors, namely Nb0.45Ta0.45Mo0.10, Nb0.30Ta0.40Mo0.30, Nb0.40Ta0.30Mo0.30, Nb0.30Ta0.30Mo0.40 and Nb0.15Ta0.15Mo0.70 by employing the well-known empty core model potential of Ashcroft for the first time. Five local field correction functions proposed by Hartree, Taylor, Ichimaru-Utsumi, Farid et al. and Sarkar et al. are used in the present investigation to study the screening influence on the aforesaid superconducting properties. The transition temperature TC obtained from the H-local field correction function is found to be in an excellent agreement with the available theoretical data. Also, the present results are found to be in qualitative agreement with other such earlier reported data, which confirms the superconducting phase in the superconductors.

Phonon Dispersion in Ca70Mg30 Metallic Glass

The phonon dispersion curves （PDC） of Ca70Mg30 metallic glass has been studied at room temperature in terms of phonon eigen frequencies of longitudinal and transverse modes employing three different approaches proposed by Hubbard and Beeby （J. Phys. C： Solid State Phys. 13 （1969） 556）, Takeno and Goda （Prog. Theor. Phys. 45 （1971） 331; 47 （1972） 790） and Bhatia and Singh （Phys. Rev. B 31 （1985） 4751）. The well recognized model potential of Gajjar et al. is employed successfully to explain electron-ion interaction in the metallic glass. The effective pair potential is used to generate the pair correlation function g（r）. The local field correction function （Int. J. Mod. Phys. B 17 （2003） 6001） is used for the first time to introduce the exchange and correlation effects on the aforesaid properties. The present findings of PDCs are found to be in agreement with the available theoretical as well as experimental data. The thermodynamic and elastic properties, i.e. longitudinal and transverse sound velocities, isothermal bulk modulus, modulus of rigidity, Poisson＇s ratio, Young＇s modulus and Debye temperature, are also investigated successfully.

Modified Transition Temperature Equation for Superconductors

We present the replacement and modification of the Debye temperature θD by the average phonon frequency （ω） in the Rowell [Solid State Commun. 19 （1976） 1131] linear transition-temperature equation for superconducting materials. We not only improve Rowell＇s results but also describe the experimental results accurately and consistently for the various superconducting systems which cover the entire range of λ between 0.72 and 2.59. The proposed linear equation of the transition temperature Tc is found to be better and more accurate than those of dain and Kachhava [Can. d. Phys. 58 （1980） 1614].

Screening-Dependent Study of Superconductivity in 3d-Transition Metals Binary Alloys Superconductors

In the present article, we report the screening-dependent study of the superconducting state parameters（SSPs）, viz. electron-phonon coupling strength λ, Coulomb pseudopotential μ;, transition temperature Tc, isotope effectexponent a, and effective interaction strength N;V of 3d-band transition metals binary alloys superconductors have beenmade extensively in the present work using a model potential formalism and employing the pseudo-alloy-atom （PAA）model for the first time. Five local field correction functions proposed by Hartree （H）, Taylor （T）, Ichimaru-Utsumi（IU）, Farid et al. （F） and Sarkar et al. （S） are used in the present investigation to study the screening influence, on theaforesaid properties. The present results of the SSPs obtained from H-screening are found in qualitative agreement withthe available experimental data wherever exist.
