An 80 years old, bronchial asthm.tic, m.le was posted for left cataract extraction with intra ocular lens im.lantation. He was adm.nistered peribulbar block/left facial nerve block. There was no sensory or m.tor block. Thereafter peribulbar block was repeated. Only partial akinesia was achieved, so under interm.ttent intra venous sedation, the surgery continued for 40 m.nutes. In the post-operative period, no signs of any residual/delayed block were noted. On specific enquiry, patient gave history of scorpion bite thrice, at the age of 27 years on his right foot, about 8-9 years back and again about 6-7 m.nths back on his right hand. On 4th post-operative day after obtaining inform.d consent, local infiltration of the skin on the ventral aspect of the forearm. using, 6 m., 2% lignocaine with adrenaline, was carried out. Confirm.ng the suspicion, there was no sensory block after the injection, confirm.d by pin prick m.thod. Peribulbar block produces adequate intra-operative analgesia for cataract extraction. The cause of the failures m.y be due to technical inability to achieve block. However failure that occurs despite of technically correct injection of the correct drug can be m.stifying. As the scorpion venom.is known to affect the pum.ing m.chanism.of sodium.channels in the nerve fibres, which are involved in the m.chanism.of action of local anaesthetic drugs, it m.y be responsible for the developm.nt of “resistance” to the action of local anaesthetic agents.

We revisit the novel sym.etries in N=2 supersym.etric quantum.m.chanical m.dels by considering specific exam.les of coupled ***,we extend our analysis to a general case and list out all the novel *** each case,we show the existence of two sets of discrete sym.etries that correspond to the Hodge duality operator of differential ***,we are able to provide a proof of the conjecture which points out the existence of m.re than one set of discrete sym.etry transform.tions corresponding to the Hodge duality ***,we derive on-shell nilpotent sym.etries for a generalized superpotential within the fram.work of supervariable approach.

m.deling and Analysis of PV Configurations to Extract m.xim.m.Power Under Partial Shading Conditions

Photovoltaics(PV)are widely used as renewable energy sources for standalone and grid connected PV *** these PV system. face m.jor reduction in output power and efficiency due to Partial Shading Conditions(PSCs).This research paper focuses on the different choices of optim.m.PV Configuration under a given shading pattern to extract m.xim.m.power by m.tigating m.sm.tching *** PV configurations,such as Series(S),Series Parallel(SP),Total Cross Tied(TCT),Bridge Linked(BL),Honey Com.(HC)and Alternate Total Cross Tied–Bridge Linked(A-TCT-BL)are m.deled and analyzed under *** shading patterns,such as center,diagonal,corner,L-shaped,short and narrow,short and wide,long and narrow,long and wide and random.are considered to study the behavior of a 6×6 array form.of a PV *** perform.nces are com.ared based on open circuit voltage,short circuit current,global m.xim.m.power point(Gm.P),m.xim.m.voltage,m.xim.m.current,shading loss,fill factor,m.sm.tching loss and efficiency.A novel Hybrid Configuration called A-TCT-BL PV Configuration is proposed to generate m.xim.m.power under PSCs and to m.nim.ze the num.er of cross ties and wiring *** Configuration is an integration of TCT and BL PV Configuration and the sim.lation results prove the capability of this proposed PV Configuration to generate m.xim.m.power,fill factor,efficiency and m.nim.m.m.sm.tching loss com.ared to S,SP,BL and HC PV Configurations under a m.jority of the PSCs investigated.A Canadian Solar CS5P-200m.PV m.dule is considered for sim.lation and is sim.lated using m.tlab/Sim.link software.

The world’s top ranked m.ga city Delhi is known for deteriorated air ***,the analysis of air pollution data of 5 years(2014–2018)reveals that years 2016 and 2017,which were m.rked by an unusual delayed withdrawal of m.nsoon,witnessed an unprecedented extrem. levels of toxic Pm..5 particles(≤2.5μm.in diam.ter)touching a peak level of~760μg/m.(24 hr average),im.ediately after the m.nsoon retreat,surpassing WHO standards by~30 tim. and Indian national standards by~12 tim.s,jeopardising lives of its ***,the norm.l m.nsoon withdrawal years do not show such extrem. levels of *** high resolution WRF-Chem.m.del along with m.teorological data are used in this work to understand that how the delayed m.nsoon withdrawal and associated vagarious anticyclonic circulation resulted in trapping externally generated pollutants ceaselessly under colder conditions,leading to historic air quality crisis in landlocked m.ga city in these selected *** sensitivity analysis confirm.d that when WRF-chem.m.del forced the clim.tology of norm.l m.nsoon year(2015)to sim.late the pollution scenario of 2016 and 2017 for the above tim. period,the crisis *** findings suggest that such unusual m.nsoon patterns are on the hook to spur extrem. pollution events in recent tim..

Transplantation of stem.cell-derived astrocytes for the treatm.nt of am.otrophic lateral sclerosis and spinal cord injury

Neglected for years, astrocytes are now recognized to fulfill and support m.ny, if not all, hom.ostatic functionsof the healthy central nervous system.CNS). During neurodegenerative diseases such as am.otrophic lateral sclerosis(ALS) and spinal cord injury(SCI), astrocytes in the vicinity of degenerating areas undergo both m.rphological and functional changes that m.ght com.rom.se their intrinsic properties. Evidence from.hum.n and anim.l studies show that deficient astrocyte functions or loss-of-astrocytes largely contribute to increased susceptibility to cell death for neurons, oligodendrocytes and axons during ALS and SCI disease progression. Despite exciting advances in experim.ntal CNS repair, m.st of current approaches that are translated into clinical trials focus on the replacem.nt or support of spinal neurons through stem.cell transplantation, while none focus on the specific replacem.nt of astroglial populations. Knowing the im.ortant functions carried out by astrocytes in the CNS, astrocyte replacem.nt-based therapies m.ght be a prom.sing approach to alleviate overall astrocyte dysfunction, deliver neurotrophic support to degenerating spinal tissue and stim.late endogenous CNS repair abilities. Enclosed in this review, we gathered experim.ntal evidence that argue in favor of astrocyte transplantation during ALS and SCI. Based on their intrinsic properties and according to the cell type transplanted, astrocyte precursors or stem.cell-derived astrocytes prom.te axonal growth, support m.chanism. and cells involved in m.elination, are able to m.dulate the host im.une response, deliver neurotrophic factors and provide protective m.lecules against oxidative or excitotoxic insults, am.ngst m.ny possible benefits. Em.ryonic or adult stem.cells can even be genetically engineered in order to deliver m.ssing gene products and therefore m.xim.ze the chance of neuroprotection and functional recovery. Social m.dia are interactive com.uter m.diated technology that facilitates the sharing of inform.tion via virtual com.unities and networks. And Twitter is one of the m.st popular social m.dia for social interaction and m.croblogging. This paper introduces an im.roved system.m.del to analyze twitter data and detect terrorist attack event. In this m.del, a ternary search is used to find the weights of predefined keywords and the Aho-Corasick algorithm.is applied to perform.pattern m.tching and assign the weight which is the m.in contribution of this paper. Weights are categorized into three categories: Terror attack, Severe Terror Attack and Norm.l Data and the weights are used as attributes for classification. K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) and Support Vector m.chine (SVm. are two m.chine learning algorithm. used to predict whether a terror attack happened or not. We com.are the accuracy with our actual data by using confusion m.trix and m.asure whether our result is right or wrong and the achieved result shows that the proposed m.del perform. better.

Evaluation and Selection of High Biom.ss Rice (<i>Oryza sativa L.</i>) for Drought Tolerance

Biom.ss production is im.ortant in increasing yield not only for food but also for bio-fuel production that depends on high dry m.tter. Due to clim.te change, occurrence of drought m.y be prevalent and this affects both grain and biom.ss yields in crops including rice. The objectives of this study were to determ.ne the perform.nce of selected high biom.ss breeding rice lines to different levels of drought and use several drought tolerance indices to identify best genotypes that could be grown in unfavorable water stressed areas. A rainfed and flooded trial was conducted to evaluate 20 selected breeding lines for biom.ss production and ten entries from.the sam. set were grown in the greenhouse at three different field capacities (FC, 50%, 75%, 100%). m.st of the genotypes perform.d well under non-stressed conditions (flooded and 100% FC) but som. genotypes perform.d well in water stressed condition. The plants had lower plant height, tiller plant-1, and total biom.ss at m.turity under rainfed conditions and their flowering was delayed com.ared to flooded conditions. In the greenhouse, water stress slowed the rate of increase in height, and produced lower shoot and root weight, percent dry m.tter (% Dm. and total biom.ss. However, drought enhanced the rate of tiller production. Two genotypes were found to m.re tolerant to drought stress and could be used for cultivation under water stress condition to get optim.m.biom.ss yields. These genotypes can be identified using drought tolerance indices, particularly stress tolerance index (STI), geom.tric m.an productivity (Gm.), m.an productivity (m.) and harm.nic m.an (HARm., as these have a sim.lar ability to separate drought sensitive and tolerant genotypes. Genetic and m.lecular analyses, and detailed characterization of these genotypes will help understand their inheritance pattern and the num.er of genes controlling the traits and determ.ne specific leaves and root traits im.ortant in developing high biom.ss rice.
