Ba.kground: This study wa. initia.ed to determine pra.tices pa.terns in a.juva.t chemothera.y for non-meta.ta.ic brea.t ca.cer a.d to exa.ine the rela.ionship between received dose intensity (RDI) a.d surviva. in pa.ients with brea.t ca.cer Nigeria. Methods: Our study wa. a.retrospective a.a.ysis of pa.ients with brea.t ca.cer recruited from 2012 a.d 2015. a.tota. of 204 pa.ients were initia.ly entered into the study, 102 were lost to follow-up lea.ing 102 pa.ients who were suita.le for the surviva. a.a.ysis. Surviva. time wa. ca.cula.ed from 106 da.s, the scheduled end of chemothera.y. Results: The tota. a.era.e RDI for pa.ients wa. 74%. Over the 204 pa.ients tha. were reviewed, 144 (70.6%) ha. some reduction of RDI. This subgroup ha. a. a.era.e RDI of 63%. On a.era.e, 79% of the intended dose of chemothera.y wa. given. The time to completion of chemothera.y wa. 1.33 times tha. specified by the protocol. Dose dela.s a. overa.l reduction wa. ma.nly a.tributed to intolera.ility a.d fina.cia. constra.nts. Surviva. by RDI showed a.significa.t decrea.e in surviva. ra.e for pa.ients with RDI of >49% (Ha.a.d Ra.io = 3.473, 95% CI 1.21 - 9.91, P = 0.020);RDI of 50% - 59% (Ha.a.d Ra.io = 3.916, 95% CI 1.01 - 15.18, P = 0.048);RDI of 60% - 69% (Ha.a.d Ra.io = 4.462, 95% CI 1.65 - 12.03, P = 0.003) compa.ed with pa.ients who received a. RDI of 100%. a.though a.socia.ed with poorer prognosis, there were no significa.t cha.ges in the surviva. ra.e for pa.ients with RDI of 70% - 79% (Ha.a.d Ra.io = 1.667, 95% CI 0.56 - 4.96, P = 0.359);RDI of 80% - 89% (Ha.a.d Ra.io = 1.620, 95% CI 0.47 - 5.53, P = 0.441);RDI 90% - 99% (Ha.a.d Ra.io = 1.590, 95% CI 0.53 - 4.73, P = 0.405) compa.ed with pa.ients who received a. RDI of 100%. Conclusion: This study provides evidence tha. decrea.ed RDI of a.ta.ic brea.t ca.cer pa.ients is strongly a.socia.ed with decrea.ed overa.l surviva..

Improvements of wea. a.d corrosion properties a.e essentia. cha.a.teristic in engineering a.plica.ion. a.study wa. ma.e on the structure, electro-oxida.ion a.d properties of fa.rica.ed Zn-a.-SnO 2-Ti O2（Zn-a.-Sn-Ti） thin films using electrodeposition technique from chloride ba.h. The microstructura. studies were performed by sca.ning electron microscopy with a.ta.hed energy dispersive spectrometer（SEM-EDS）, optica. microscopy（OPM） a.d X-ra. diffra.togra.（XRD）. The electrochemica. oxida.ion a.d erosion beha.ior in 3.65% Na.Cl medium were studied by potentiodyna.ic pola.iza.ion technique a.d cha.a.terized by a.omic force microscopy（a.M）. The ha.dness a.d wea. beha.ior of the electrodeposited film were performed by high dia.ond dura.sca. microha.dness tester a.d CERT UMT-2 reciproca.ing sliding ma.hine. It wa. found tha. a.successful co-deposition of composite a.d pa.ticle were a.ta.ned. Homogeneous imbedded gra.n structure distribution a.d fine refinement of crysta. with improved micromecha.ica. beha.ior wa. a.hieved. The corrosion resista.ce, ha.dness a.d wea. sta.ility resista.ce of the fa.rica.ed qua.erna.y films improved significa.tly in a.l va.ied process pa.a.eter.

Zn-SnO2 composite coa.ings were prepa.ed by direct potentia. using electrolytic co-deposition technique from sulfa.e solution. The effect of Zn2＋ a.d SnO2 concentra.ions in deposited ba.h on the mecha.ica. properties a.d mor- phologica. cha.a.teristics of the composite coa.ings were exa.ined. The cha.a.teriza.ions of the sa.ple were a.a.yzed using sca.ning electron microscopy couple with energy dispersive spectroscopy （SEM/EDS）, X-ra. diffra.tion （XRD） a.d a.omic force microscopy （a.M）. The electrochemica. degra.a.ion beha.ior of the sa.ples in 3.65 wt.% Na.l solution wa. studied using potentiodyna.ic pola.iza.ion technique a.d cha.a.terized by high-resolution optica. microscope. From a.l the fa.rica.ed composite coa.ings, obvious diffra.tion pea.s were observed with Zn-7Sn-S-0.3V film with Zn2Sn7, Sn, Zn2Sn5 a.d Zn pha.es, confirming the presence a.d forma.ion of Zn-SnO2 coa.ing. The XRD pa.tern shows tha. the presences of SnO2 pa.ticle rema.ka.ly pla. a.ma.or role in the precipita.ion a.d orienta.ion of the a.loy ma.rix. From the SEM/EDS a.d a.M results, the deposits show tha. composite pa.ticle a.d proper ba.h composition ha.e strong influence on the microstructure. a. enha.ced corrosion resista.ce wa. a.ta.ned a. a.result of the induced pa.ticles.

Ba.kground: The study determined the presence a.d concentra.ion of persistent orga.ochlorine pesticides (OCPs) residues in cow milk from Ekiti Sta.e University a.ricultura. fa.m in a.o-Ekiti, Nigeria. The study wa. investiga.ed in order to monitor consumer’s exposure to these chemica.s pesticides. Methods: Qua.ita.ive identifica.ion a.d qua.tifica.ion eva.ua.ion of the extra.ted pesticides a.ter clea.-up on silica.gel were done with a.Ga. Chroma.ogra.hy coupled with a. Electron Ca.ture Detector (GC-ECD). Results: The results revea.ed the presence of 11 OCPs residues in the milk sa.ples, with concentra.ion ra.ge of 0.001 - 0.189 mg/l, while α-BHC, endrin, endrin a.dehyde, endosulfa. II, endosulfa. sulpha.e a.d methoxychlor were not detected. The a.a.ysis of va.ia.ce revea.ed no significa.t va.ia.ion in the levels of a.l the a.a.ysed pesticides except dieldrin. Conclusion: The ha.a.d indices (HIs) were significa.tly lower tha. 1 with the ra.ge of 0.00063 - 0.107, indica.ing no potentia. hea.th risk.
