Bayesian optimization algorithm （BOA） is one of the successful and widely used estimation of distribution algorithms （EDAs） which have been employed to solve different optimization problems. In EDAs, a model is learned from the selected population that encodes interactions among problem variables. New individuals are generated by sampling the model and incorporated into the population. Different probabilistic models have been used in EDAs to learn interactions. Bayesian network （BN） is a well-known graphical model which is used in BOA. Learning a propel model in EDAs and particularly in BOA is distinguished as a computationally expensive task. Different methods have been proposed in the literature to improve the complexity of model building in EDAs. this paper employs bivariate dependencies to learn accurate BNs in BOA efficiently. the proposed approach extracts the bivariate dependencies using an appropriate pairwise interaction-detection metric. Due to the static structure of the underlying problems, these dependencies are used in each generation of BOA to learn an accurate network. By using this approach, the computational cost of model building is reduced dramatically. Various optimization problems are selected to be solved by the algorithm. the experimental results show that the proposed approach successfully finds the optimum in problems with different types of interactions efficiently. Significant speedups are observed in the model building procedure as well.

INtRODUCtION Recent development has seen a drastic increase in energy use trends in Saudi Arabian buildings leading to a demand for an effective course of action for energy conservation and production.A case study-based research initiative explor-ing near-zero energy potential in Saudi Arabia was undertaken.A 4-bedroom detached single-family faculty residence at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals(KFUPM)representing common regional housing design trends was utilized.A base case simulation model of the house was developed and val-idated using short-term and real-time energy consumption *** sets of strategies:passive design strategies,representative codes and standards,and renewable technology were employed in the new design of the *** strategies com-prised a green roof,a ventilated wall system,a sloped roof,and insulation for thermal *** alternatives helped reduce the annual energy consumption of the house by 17.2%.the most recent version of the International Energy Conserva-tion Code(IECC 2012)was also incorporated along with ASHRAE Standard 62.2 for *** code and standard together reduced the annual energy consumption by 31.1%.Solar PV was then utilized to reduce grid utilization for the remainder of the house energy *** strategy provided 24.7%of the total energy consumed annually.A combination of strategies showed a 70.7%energy consumption reduction,thereby decreasing the energy index of the house from 162.9 to 47.7 kWh/m^(2)/*** Zero Energy Building(ZEB)concepts and strategies utilized in this study demonstrate a socially responsible approach to achieving near-zero energy performance for an existing house.

In this paper, we address fault-diagnosis agreement(FDA) problems in distributed wireless networks(DWNs) with arbitrary fallible nodes and healthy access points. We propose a new algorithm to reach an agreement among fault-free members about the faulty ones. the algorithm is designed for fully connected DWN and can also be easily adapted to partially connected networks. Our contribution is to reduce the bit complexity of the Byzantine agreement process by detecting the same list of faulty units in all fault-free members. therefore, the malicious units can be removed from other consensus processes. Also, each healthy unit detects a local list of malicious units, which results in lower packet transmissions in the network. Our proposed algorithm solves FDA problems in 2t+1 rounds of packet transmissions, and the bit complexity in each wireless node is O(nt+1).

Laboratory bioassays were conducted to determine the effect of food source on the survival of tribolium castaneum Herbst, Oryzaephilus surinamensis L. and Rhyzopertha dominica F., after exposure to five diatomaceous earth （DE） formulations： Protect-It, Insecto, Perma-GuardtM, Dryacide and SilicoSec. Adults of these species were exposed to DEs at the rate of 0.5 mg/cm^2 for 1 day on filter paper inside plastic Petri dishes. After exposure, the initial mortality was counted and live individuals of the three species were held for a week in glass vials containing 50 mg wheat flour, rice and whole wheat, respectively. In the second experiment, after 1 day exposure to DEs, beetles were transferred to Petri dishes without food and held for a week to determine if the presence of food source would decrease the mortality of beetles. Experiments were carried out at 27℃ and 55% RH in the dark. the initial mortality in both of the experiments reached 100% for the three species exposed to Protect-It and in the case ofR. dominica and O. surinamensis exposed to Dryacide. In contrast, low level of mortality （〈 10%） was observed for t. castaneum exposed to Perma-GuardtM and Insecto. the mortality after the post-treatment period on food was decreased for the three species exposed to Perma-GuardtM and in the case of t. castaneum and R. dominica exposed to Insecto and SilicoSec. Adults of O. surinamensis were the most susceptible followed by R. dominica and 100% adult mortality was obtained, whereas t. castaneum were the least susceptible beetles to DEs. Protect-It and Dryacide were the most efficient DE formulations and can be used effectively in a stored grain integrated pest management program.

We use magnetic field data observed by the Swarm mission from 2014 to 2020 to construct,for the first time,a two-dimensional(2 D)lithospheric magnetic anomaly model of Egypt and its surrounding *** data during quiet geomagnetic conditions has been expanded in terms of the Legendre polynomial in harmonic terms N=*** damped least square method has been used to estimate the model coefficients based on the lithospheric magnetic *** data at two different altitudes(438-448 km and 503-511 km)were compared with the CHAOS *** exhibit that the 2 D model is superior to the CHAOS model in the capability of extracting more information about small-scale crustal anomaly *** low altitudes(438-448 km),the strength of the anomaly field increases,but the noise of the external fields has greatly reduced at high altitudes(503-511 km).Besides,the magnetic anomaly field at low altitudes has illuminated short-scale anomalies that didn’t appear at high *** the total and vertical magnetic anomaly vectors showed their ability to reveal tectonic structures compared with Moho depth map and the geological maps.

A series of new 2,5-disubstituted-l,3,4-oxadiazole and 1,2,4-triazole derivatives were synthesized by hetero- cyclization of acid hydrazide I and thiosemicarbazide derivative 2. Furthermore, the acyclic C-nucleoside analogs were prepared by cyclization of their corresponding sugar hydrazones by reaction with acetic anhydride. the antimicrobial activity of the prepared compounds was evaluated and some of the synthesized compounds revealed good activities against fungi.

Extruded corn snacks are accepted by all human ages especially children, but they have low functional value. therefore, corn extruded snacks contain rich nutraceuticals dried herbs including Laurus nobilis (t1), Curcuma longa (t2), Zingiber officinale Roscoe (t3), and the mixture of these herbs (t4) were manufactured and analyzed. the results declared that all the herbal extruded corn snacks had significantly higher ash, fibers, minerals, and vitamins A and B6. For minerals, the highest percent of increase compared to control was achieved by Fe, K, Ca, Zn content in order, being the highest in t4. the contents of Vitamin A and B6 were ranged from 283 to 445 IU/100 g and from 0.01 to 0.08 mg/100 g for the herbal extrudates, respectively. the increased percent in herbal corn snacks relative to control ranged from 743 to 452%, 188 to 17.6%, and from 313 to 99% for total phenolics, flavonoids, and antioxidant activity. Besides, the highest number of phenolic compounds was recorded in t4. Despite the fact that approximately all herbal extruded products had good texture and color characteristics, the best formulation was t2 and t4 corn snacks. Furthermore, the extruded products were microbiologically safe for up to 9 months. the formulation of herbal-corn snacks could fulfill consumers’ requirement for ready-to-eat-healthy foods with acceptable sensory attributes and also economically suitable for the food industry.

Citrus tristeza Virus(CtV),usually occurs in nature as a mixture of *** naturally infected citrus(Citrus sinensis)trees grafted on sour orange rootstock were collected from three citrus growing governorates in Egypt(Sharqia,Qalyubia and Garbia).In this study,Rt-PCR,Single-Strand Conformation Polymorphism(SSCP)and nucleotide sequence analysis were used for four independent CtV genomic regions(p65,p18,p20,and p23)to detect and assess the sequence and genetic variabilities among CtV Egyptian *** products(650 bp)for the CtV p23 gene obtained from the selected isolates were used for the SSCP analysis and DNA *** patterns of p23 gene for individual isolates yielded different complex haplotype *** sequence analysis of p23 region amplified from six isolates under study revealed that p23 shared high nucleotide identity 98.7%with t36 isolate from USA,*** analysis of p23 gene indicated a close evolutionary relationship between all examined isolates and Qaha isolate(t36 isolate group),suggesting that they may have originated from closely related *** sequence analysis of the three genes located on CtV 3′-coterminal overhang,p18,p20 and p65,amplified from isolate A3,Sharqia governorate,revealed that the p18,p65,and p20 genes were related to the t3-KB isolate from South Africa with 99%–100%sequence *** relationship analysis for p65,p18 and p20 ORFs clustered the current A3 isolate with t3 genotype *** recombination analysis identified three of six isolates from Sharqia,and Garbia as potential recombinant for p23 *** isolates t36 and t3 were identified as major donors for recombination events in isolate *** results concluded that p23 ORF likely to be as a hotspot region for recombination and originated through recombination *** current study indicated that recombination is an important factor for the origin of CtV strains in Egypt.
