Fluvial reservoir characterization through channel belt dimension and petrophysical analysis

The dimensions and connectivity of fluvial reservoirs vary greatly, making it challenging to characterize them using conventional approaches. In this study integrated channel belt dimension analysis from seismic geomorphology and empirical equations, well log facies, and petrophysical analysis were performed to characterize the fluvial reservoirs. The study interval consists of fluvial deposits and is divided into three reservoir zones, which are defined by four key regional markers (B, D, K, O). In these intervals, six (6) fluvial facies have been identified. Based on the log facies proportions and their stacking relationships, it is interpreted that the reservoirs in zone 1 (B to D) were deposited in a proximal reach of a meandering system, zone 2 (D to K) in a marginal marine setting, and zone 3 (K) in a distal reach of a meandering system. The dimensions of fluvial channels and channel belts were determined using empirical equations. The results were compared with the observed dimensions of fluvial channels and channel belts from the seismic horizon and stratal slices of the same intervals. Zones 1 and 3 are characterized by broad meander belts (1000–4000 m) compared to zone 2 (600–1300 m). Petrophysical analysis showed zones 1 and 3 have the better petrophysical properties compared to zone 2. Though zone 3 has the most well-developed sand bodies, the best reservoir interval is zone 1 because of its higher porosity. Although channel belt dimensions have a significant influence on reservoir connectivity, they do not seem to have control on reservoir properties. The channel belt dimensions obtained from the empirical equations and interpreted from the seismic geomorphology analysis were found to be strikingly similar. Since three-dimensional seismic data is not available everywhere and seismic imaging quality decreases with depth, empirical equations can be used to analyze fluvial reservoir parameters and their connectivity at greater depths.

Demand-controlled ventilation(DCV)is commonly implemented to provide variable amounts of outdoor air according to an internal ventilation *** objective of the present study is to investigate the applicability and the performance of occupancy-based DCV schemes in comparison with time-based and CO_(2)-based DCV *** do this,we apply the occupancy estimation method by the Bayes theorem to control the ventilation rate of an office building in *** investigated six cases in total(two cases for each control scheme).Experiments were conducted in a small office room with controllable ventilation equipment and relevant *** observed results indicated that the occupancy-based schemes relying on Bayes theorem could be applied successfully to perform continuous control of ventilation rates without causing recursive ***,we discussed the time delays associated with the control procedure,including dispersion time,sensor-response time,and data processing ***,we compared the performance of the proposed approach in six DCV cases in terms of a resultant indoor CO_(2) level and the total ventilation-air *** concluded that DCV control based on both occupancy and floor area provided the best conformity to the ASHRAE standard among the analyzed schemes.

Background: The 8 th edition of the American Joint Committee on Cancer(AJCC) staging system for pancreatic exocrine adenocarcinoma has been released. The current study seeks to assess the 7 th and 8 th editions among patients registered within the surveillance, epidemiology and end results(SEER) ***: SEER database(2010–2013) has been accessed through SEER*Stat program and AJCC 8 th edition stages were reconstructed utilizing the collaborative stage descriptions. Kaplan–Meier analysis of overall survival and pancreatic cancer-specific survival analyses(according to both 7 th and 8 th editions and according to whether pathological or clinical staging were conducted) has been performed. Multivariate analysis of factors affecting pancreatic cancer-specific survival was also conducted through a Cox proportional hazard ***: A total of 18 948 patients with pancreatic adenocarcinoma were identified in the period from 2010–2013. Pancreatic cancer-specific survival among pathologically staged patients and according to the 8 th edition showed significant differences for all pair wise comparisons among different stages(P < 0.0001) except for the comparison between stage IA and stage IB(P = 0.307) and the comparison between stage IB and stage IIA(P = 0.116). Moreover, P value for stage IA vs IIA was 0.014; while pancreatic cancer-specific survival according to the 7 th edition among pathologically staged patients showed significant differences for all pair wise comparisons among different stages(P < 0.0001) except for the comparison between IA and IB(P = 0.072), the comparison between stage IIA and stage IIB(P = 0.065), the comparison between stage IIA and stage Ⅲ(P = 0.059) and the comparison between IIB and Ⅲ(P = 0.595).Among clinically staged patients(i.e. those who did not undergo initial radical surgery), the prognostic performance of both 7 th and 8 th stages for both overall survival and pancreatic cancer-specific survival was ***: Th

In this study,the sensitivity of a novel dehumidification requirement model(DehumReq)is analyzed to evaluate the effect of the predominant factors on the dehumidification needs of the *** hourly dehumidification demand and sensitivity coefficient(SC)are estimated for three different seasons:warm(July),mild(May),and cold(November),by using the local sensitivity analysis *** on SC values,the solar radiation,air exchange,leaf area index(LAI),and indoor setpoints(temperature,relative humidity(RH),and water vapor partial pressure(WVPP))have significant impact on the dehumidifi-cation needs,and the impact varies from season to *** parameters have a higher SC in summer,whereas solar radiation and LAI have a higher SC in mild *** dehumidification load increases 4 times of its base value with increasing solar radiation by 200 W/m^(2),and the highest LAI(10)caused 5 times increment of the *** changing of WVPP from its base value(1.5 kPa)to maximum(2.9 kPa)reduces the load 70%in *** exchange was found to be the most crucial parameter because it is the main dehumidification approach that has a large range and is easily adjustable for any *** air exchange by ventilation or infiltration will reduce the dehumidification load to zero in May and November and minimizes it to only nighttime load in *** the other parameters,higher ambient air RH and indoor air speed will result in higher the dehumidification load;whereas higher inner surface condensation will result in lower dehumidifi-cation *** result of this study will assist in the selection of the most efficient moisture control strategies and techniques for greenhouse humidity control.

Extensive gene expression analysis was carried out after a 0, 4, 36, 72, 96 h short interval successive partial hepatectomy (SISPH) was performed. A total of 185 elements were identified as differing by more than two-fold in their expression levels at one or more time points. Of these 185 elements, 103 were up-regulated, 82 were down-regulated and 86 elements were unreported genes. Quite a few genes were previously unknown to be involved in liver regenera-tion (LR). Using cluster and general analysis, we found that the genes at five time points of the SISPH share eight different types of different expression profiles and eight distinct temporal in-duction or suppression patterns. A comparison of the gene expression in SISPH with that after PH found that 41 genes were specifically altered in SISPH, and 144 genes were simultaneously up-regulated or down-regulated in SISPH and after PH, but they were present in different amounts at the different time points. The conclusions are that (i) microarrays combined with suppressive subtractive hybridization (SSH) can effectively identify genes involved in LR on a large scale; (ii) more genes were up-regulated than down-regulated; (iii) there are fewer abun-dantly expressed genes than those with increased levels of 2-5 fold.

Impact of industrial effluent on growth and yield of rice(Oryza sativa L.) in silty clay loam soil

Degradation of soil and water from discharge of untreated industrial effluent is alarming in Bangladesh. Therefore, buildup of heavy metals in soil from contaminated effluent, their entry into the food chain and effects on rice yield were quantified in a pot experiment. The treatments were comprised of 0, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% industrial effluents applied as irrigation water. Effluents, initial soil, different parts of rice plants and post-harvest pot soil were analyzed for various elements, including heavy metals. Application of elevated levels of effluent contributed to increased heavy metals in pot soils and rice roots due to translocation effects, which were transferred to rice straw and grain. The results indicated that heavy metal toxicity may develop in soil because of contaminated effluent *** metals are not biodegradable, rather they accumulate in soils, and transfer of these metals from effluent to soil and plant cells was found to reduce the growth and development of rice plants and thereby contributed to lower yield. Moreover, a higher concentration of effluent caused heavy metal toxicity as well as reduction of growth and yield of rice, and in the long run a more aggravated situation may threaten human lives,which emphasizes the obligatory adoption of effluent treatment before its release to the environment, and regular monitoring by government agencies needs to be ensured.

Spring frost can severely damage or even kill rapeseed/canola(Brassica napus L.) seedlings. A protocol for large scale screening of rapeseed germplasm under frost-simulating conditions has not yet been developed. Accordingly, the present study was conducted to develop a protocol for screening rapeseed germplasm under artificial frost-simulation conditions in a plant growth chamber and in a greenhouse. Nine rapeseed varieties, including three commercial hybrids, three spring types, and three winter types were used. Cold acclimation at 4 °C was applied for 0, 7, or 14 days to two-week old seedlings. The seedlings were treated with four freezing temperatures(- 4 °C,- 8 °C,- 12 °C, and- 16 °C). The length of the freezing period was 16 h, including the ramping of temperature down from 4 °C and up from the respective freezing temperature to 4 °C. Plants were allowed to recover at 4 °C for24 h before they were moved back to the greenhouse. Frost damage was scored on a 0–5scale, where 0 denotes completely dead and 5 denotes no damage. Seedling survival from the freezing treatment increased from the non-acclimation to the cold acclimation treatment. However, no significant differences(P < 0.05) were found between 7 and14 days of acclimation. Frost treatment at- 4 °C resulted in significant differences in seedling damage relative to the other three temperatures, with the- 16 °C treatment resulting in the highest overall seedling damage. Significant differences were found between the spring type and the other two types(hybrid and winter). However, no significant differences were found between the hybrid and winter types. The suggested protocol for the assessment of frost tolerance is acclimation of two-week old seedlings for7 days at 4 °C followed by frost treatment at- 4 °C for 16 h.

This paper demonstrates empirical research on using convolutional neural networks(CNN)of deep learning techniques to classify X-rays of COVID-19 patients versus normal patients by feature *** extraction is one of the most significant phases for classifying medical X-rays radiography that requires inclusive domain *** this study,CNN architectures such as VGG-16,VGG-19,RestNet50,RestNet18 are compared,and an optimized model for feature extraction in X-ray images from various domains invol-ving several classes is *** X-ray radiography classifier with TensorFlow GPU is created executing CNN architectures and our proposed optimized model for classifying COVID-19(Negative or Positive).Then,2,134 X-rays of normal patients and COVID-19 patients generated by an existing open-source online dataset were labeled to train the optimized *** those,the optimized model architecture classifier technique achieves higher accuracy(0.97)than four other models,specifically VGG-16,VGG-19,RestNet18,and RestNet50(0.96,0.72,0.91,and 0.93,respectively).Therefore,this study will enable radiol-ogists to more efficiently and effectively classify a patient’s coronavirus disease.
