Glanzm.nn throm.asthenia (GT) is a rare and often underdiagnosed congenital bleeding disorder caused by m.tations in the genes encoding glycoproteins GPIIb or GPIIIa, resulting in platelet dysfunction. Inherited in an autosom.l recessive m.nner, GT is characterized by the inability of platelets to aggregate. Clinically, it presents with m.cocutaneous bleeding, such as easy and extensive bruising, severe epistaxis, m.norrhagia, gingival bleeding, postpartum.hem.rrhage, and unexpected bleeding following procedures, despite a norm.l platelet count. We present a case involving a 6-year-old m.le patient who experienced spontaneous gingival bleeding for the past 4 weeks due to the eruption of his first perm.nent m.lars. The bleeding was particularly severe at night, disrupting the child’s sleep. The patient had been diagnosed with GT at the age of 16 m.nths. Dental m.nagem.nt was pursued, and the use of tranexam.c acid m.uthwash, com.ined with m.ticulous oral hygiene, resulted in an excellent response.

The determ.nation of the ethanol content in food products is of fundam.ntal im.ortance for HALAL certification. In this work, an analytical m.thod for the determ.nation of ethanol in water by headspace gas chrom.tography with flam. ionization detector (HS-GC-FID) has been developed and validated for the use in characterization of ethanol reference m.terials. The validation study was carried out in the linear calibration range 100 - 1500 m./kg using the NIST SRm.2900, nom.nal 95.6%. The studied perform.nce characteristics of the m.thod were the lim.t of detection, LOD, the lim.t of quantification LOQ, selectivity, linearity, precision, recovery and bias. The validation results showed that the m.thod is selective, precise, accurate and free from.any significant bias. The LOD and LOQ were 1.27 and 3.86 m./kg respectively and the estim.ted expanded uncertainty was 2% indicating that the m.thod is fit for the purpose of certification of ethanol in water reference m.terials.

The use of antibiotics in hum.ns and anim.ls has been m.rked as a significant step in health due to their effectiveness in controlling and treating bacterial infections. The m.suse and overuse of antibiotics have been identified as risk factors for bacterial resistance since m.croorganism. adapt and develop m.chanism. to defend against antibiotics. According to the Centers for Disease Protection and Control (CDC), around 23,000 individuals die every year in the United States due to antibiotic resistance com.lications. As a result, a dem.nd for alternative treatm.nts has been a goal for scientists as the m.crobes adapt to selective pressure. The aim.of this study is to test the antibacterial activity of leaf extracts of Peganum.harm.la and Haloxylon salicornicum.on both Gram.positive and Gram.negative bacteria on various m.dium.. The results of the study showed that both P. harm.la and H. salicornicum.inhibited the bacterial growth in two different m.dia. The results were also com.ared with different com.on antibiotics used in both hum.n’s and anim.l’s fields and showed a prom.sing outcom. as alternative antibiotics.

In the m.dern era of a growing population, it is arduous for hum.ns to m.nitor every aspect of sports, events occurring around us, and scenarios or conditions. This recognition of different types of sports and events has increasingly incorporated the use of m.chine learning and artificial intelligence. This research focuses on detecting and recognizing events in sequential photos characterized by several factors, including the size, location, and position of people’s body parts in those pictures, and the influence around those people. Com.on approaches utilized, here are feature descriptors such as m.ER (m.xim.lly Stable Extrem.l Regions), SIFT (Scale-Invariant Feature Transform., and DOF (degree of freedom. between the joint points are applied to the skeleton points. m.reover, for the sam. purposes, other features such as BRISK (Binary Robust Invariant Scalable Keypoints), ORB (Oriented FAST and Rotated BRIEF), and HOG (Histogram.of Oriented Gradients) are applied on full body or silhouettes. The integration of these techniques increases the discrim.native nature of characteristics retrieved in the identification process of the event, hence im.roving the efficiency and reliability of the entire procedure. These extracted features are passed to the early fusion and DBscan for feature fusion and optim.zation. Then deep belief, network is em.loyed for recognition. Experim.ntal results dem.nstrate a separate experim.nt’s detection average recognition rate of 87% in the Hm.B51 video database and 89% in the YouTube database, showing a better perspective than the current m.thods in sports and event identification. © 2024 The Authors.
