Artificial Intelligence(AI)and Computer Vision(CV)advancements have led to many useful methodologies in recent years,particularly to help visually-challenged *** detection includes a variety of challenges,for example,handlingmultiple class images,images that get augmented when captured by a camera and so *** test images include all these variants as *** detection models alert them about their surroundings when they want to walk *** study compares four CNN-based pre-trainedmodels:ResidualNetwork(ResNet-50),Inception v3,DenseConvolutional Network(DenseNet-121),and SqueezeNet,predominantly used in image recognition *** on the analysis performed on these test images,the study infers that Inception V3 outperformed other pre-trained models in terms of accuracy and *** further improve the performance of the Inception v3 model,the thermal exchange optimization(TEO)algorithm is applied to tune the hyperparameters(number of epochs,batch size,and learning rate)showing the novelty of the *** accuracy was achieved owing to the inclusion of an auxiliary classifier as a regularizer,hyperparameter optimizer,and factorization ***,Inception V3 can handle images of different *** makes Inception V3 the optimum model for assisting visually challenged people in real-world communication when integrated with Internet of Things(IoT)-based devices.

An Exploratory Investigation of Difficulties in Applying Functional Behavior Assessment and Implementing Behavioral Intervention Plans in ADHD Programs in Saudi Arabia

Functional behavior assessment(FBA)and behavioral intervention plans(BIPs)can be effective for students with attention deﬁcit hyperactivity disorder(ADHD);however,teachers may face difﬁculties when implementing FBA procedures and,in turn,BIPs because of lack of time,insufﬁcient training,and multiplicity of ***,it is important to identify the difﬁculties teachers may face and the obstacles that can deter them from implementing intervention *** is a worthwhile endeavor because nearly all classrooms will have students with behavioral problems who will beneﬁt from speciﬁcally designed educational *** study aimed to identify the difﬁculties in applying FBA and the barriers in implementing BIPs among Saudi teachers in specialized ADHD *** the descriptive-analytical approach,a questionnaire targeting difﬁculties and barriers was admi-nistered to 209 public school teachers from specialized ADHD programs in Saudi *** results revealed that the difﬁculty level of applying FBA in ADHD programs was *** level of barriers in implementing BIPs was ***,the study indicated that barriers in implementing BIPs could be predicted by the difﬁculties of applying *** results suggest the importance ofﬁnding better practices,restructuring the provision of ADHD programs,training teachers,improving assessment tool availability,and ensuring cooperation between school administrators and teachers.

Mining Patterns from Change Logs to Support Reuse-Driven Evolution of Software Architectures

Modern software systems are subject to a continuous evolution under frequently varying requirements andchanges in systems＇ operational environments. Lehman＇s law of continuing change demands for long-living and continuouslyevolving software to prolong its productive life and economic value by accommodating changes in existing software. Reusableknowledge and practices have proven to be successful for continuous development and evolution of the software effectivelyand efficiently. However, challenges such as empirical acquisition and systematic application of the reusable knowledge andpractices must be addressed to enable or enhance software evolution. We investigate architecture change logs -- mininghistories of architecture-centric software evolution -- to discover change patterns that 1） support reusability of architecturalchanges and 2） enhance the efficiency of the architecture evolution process. We model architecture change logs as a graphand apply graph-based formalism （i.e., graph mining techniques） to discover software architecture change patterns. Wehave developed a prototype that enables tool-driven automation and user decision support during software evolution. Wehave used the ISO-IEC-9126 model to qualitatively evaluate the proposed solution. The evaluation results suggest that theproposed solution 1） enables the reusability of frequent architectural changes and 2） enhances the efficiency of architecture-centric software evolution process. The proposed solution promotes research efforts to exploit the history of architecturalchanges to empirically discover knowledge that can guide architecture-centric software evolution.

AN EXTRACTION alGORITHM FOR A SET OF ELEMENTARY SIPHONS BASED ON MIXED-INTEGER PROGRAMMING

Elementary siphons are useful in the development of a deadlock prevention policy for a discrete event system modeled with Petri nets. This paper proposes an algorithm to iteratively extract a set of elementary siphons in a class of Petri nets, called system of simple sequential processes with resources （S3pR）. At each iteration, by a mixed-integer programming （MIP） method, the proposed algorithm finds a maximal unmarked siphon, classifies the places in it, extracts an elementary siphon from the classified places, and adds a new constraint in order to extract the next elementary siphon. This algorithm iteratively executes until no new unmarked siphons can be found. It finally obtains a unique set of elementary siphons and avoids a complete siphon enumeration. A theoretical analysis and examples are given to demonstrate its efficiency and practical potentials.

Exact Solution of Non-Newtonian Blood Flow with Nanoparticles through Porous Arteries:A Comparative Study

In this paper,the mathematical model describing the third-grade non-Newtonian blood flow suspended with nanoparticles through porous arteries is exactly *** present physical model was solved in the research literature via the optimal homotopy analysis method and the collocation method,where the obtained solution was compared with the numerical fourth-order Runge-Kutta ***,the present paper only introduces a new approach to obtain the exact solution of the concerned system and implements such exact solution as a reference to validate the published approximate *** remarks on the previously published results are observed and discussed in detail through tables and *** view of the present calculations,the obtained results in the literature by Ghasemi et al.[Ghasemi,Hatami,Sarokolaie et al.(2015)]may need ***,it is found that the obtained approximate results in the relevant literature agree with the current exact ones up to only two or three decimal places,at ***,the present approach along with the obtained results reflexes the effectiveness and efficiency of our analysis when compared with the corresponding study in the ***,the present results can be directly invested for similar future problems of the same constructions.

A Novel Cultural Crowd Model Toward Cognitive Artificial Intelligence

Existing literature shows cultural crowd management has unforeseen issues due to four dynamic elements;time,capacity,speed,and *** variations are increasing the complexity level because each mass and event have different characteristics and ***,no prior study has employed the six Hofstede Cultural Dimensions(HCD)for predicting crowd *** study aims to develop the Cultural Crowd-Artificial Neural Network(CC-ANN)learning model that considers crowd’s HCD to predict their physical(distance and speed)and social(collectivity and cohesion)*** model was developed towards a cognitive intelligent decision support tool where the predicted characteristics affect the estimated regulation plan’s time and *** designed the experiments as four groups to analyze the proposed model’s outcomes and extract the interrelations between the HCD of crowd’s grouped individuals and their physical and social ***,the extracted interrelations were verified with the dataset’s statistical correlation analysis with a P-valueal ***,analyzing outcomes identified the most influential HCD for predicting crowd *** results also show that the CC-ANN model improves the prediction and learning performance for the crowd behavior because the achieved accepted level of accuracy does not exceed 10 to 20 epochs in most ***,the performance improved by 90%,93%respectively in some ***,all prediction best cases were related to one or more cultural features with a low error of 0.048,0.117,0.010,and 0.014 mean squared error,indicating a novel cultural learning model.

Availability, Performance and Reliability Evaluation for PV Distributed Generation

Nowadays, renewable energy resources play an important role in replacing conventional energy resources such as fossil fuel by integrating solar, wind and geothermal energy. Photovoltaic energy is one?of?the very promising renewable energy resources which grew rapidly in the past few years, it can be used to produce electric energy through photovoltaic process. The primary objective of the research proposed in this paper is to facilitate the increasing penetration levels of PV systems in the electric distribution networks. In this work, the PV module electrical model is presented based on the mathematical equations and was implemented on MATLAB to simulate the non-linear characteristics I-V and P-V curves with variable input parameters which are irradiance and temperature based on Riyadh region. In addition, the reliability evaluation of distribution networks, including distributed generators of solar photovoltaic (PV) with varying output power capacity is presented also. The Monte Carlo simulation algorithm is applied to test the distribution network which is RBTS Bus 2 and the same has been conducted on the original case of distribution network substation 7029 which is located at KSA Riyadh. The two distribution networks have been modified to include the PV’s distributed generators. The distributed generators contribute to supply a part of the load during normal mode and supply the entire load during component failure or failure of grid operation supply. The PV stochastic models have been used to simulate the randomness of these resources. Moreover, the study shows that the implementation and integration of renewable resources as distributed generations have improved the reliability of the distribution networks.

BACKGROUND Insulin resistance is a risk factor for metabolic syndromes and is associated with a wide variety of metabolic illnesses,including obesity,type 2 diabetes,and cardiovascular *** To investigate and map global insulin resistance *** A bibliometric methodology was applied to the literature retrieved from the Scopus database and Reference Citation Analysis(https://***)by using a validated search *** study period was limited from 2002 to *** indicators and mapping were *** A total of 26808 articles on the topic of insulin resistance were included in the Scopus *** articles included research articles(n=21918;81.76%),review articles(n=2641;9.85%),and letters(n=653;2.44%).During the study period,136 countries contributed to the research on insulin *** highest number of articles was from the United States(n=7360;27.45%),followed by China(n=3713;13.85%),Japan(n=1730,6.45%),Italy(n=1545;5.54%),and the United Kingdom(n=1484;5.54%).The retrieved articles identified two main research themes:“inflammatory mechanisms in the regulation of insulin resistance”and“mechanisms linking obesity to insulin resistance”.CONCLUSION Our data show that insulin resistance has steadily gained interest from researchers,as evidenced by the number of citations and yearly *** have grown significantly in the last decade,while low-income countries with greater burdens continue to produce fewer publications in this *** approach might assist researchers in choosing new research areas and recognizing research hotspots and *** the future,perhaps high-quality clinical evidence will be acquired.

Safety of Dabigatran in Patients with Non-valvular Atrial Fibrillation： A Short-Term Registry

Dabigatran is a new oral anticoagulant that has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of patients with NVAF （non-valvular atrial fibrillation）. The paper is to retrospectively evaluate the safety of dabigatran in patients with NVAF. We performed a retrospective cohort analysis of our registries for patients using dabigatran. The clinical safety endpoints included major bleeding, stroke, death, and any other reported or documented adverse events. all other major and minor events were recorded and documented during the treatment period. Of the 80 patients included in the analysis, 26% of those receiving a dose of 150 mg experienced adverse events, including two cases of minor bleeding and one case of stroke, whereas 8% of those receiving a dose of 110 mg experienced adverse events, including one case of major gastric bleeding and one case of death. The most common adverse event was gastric distress. Moreover, we noted cases of minor urethral and optic nerve bleeding, major gastric bleeding, stroke, and death. Treatment with dabigatran is primarily successful in low-risk profile patients, without any major or minor events, whereas high-risk patients may require further evaluation before dabigatran treatment initiation and careful monitoring during the treatment period.

Waveguide Design Optimization for Long Wavelength Semiconductor Lasers with Low Threshold Current and Small Beam Divergence

Long wavelength GaSb-based quantum well lasers have been optimized for high coupling efficiency into an optical system. Two approaches were used to reduce the vertical far-field. In the first approach we showed the use of V-shaped Weaker Waveguide in the n-cladding layer dramatically reduces vertical beam divergence without any performance degradation compared to a conventional broad-waveguide laser structure. Starting from a broad waveguide laser structure design which gives low threshold current and a large vertical far-field (VFF), the structure was modified to decrease the VFF while maintaining a low threshold-current density. In a first step the combination of a narrow optical waveguide and reduced refractive index step between the waveguide and the cladding layers reduce the VFF from 67? to 42?. The threshold current density was kept low to a value of ~190 A/cm2 for 1000 × 100 μm2 devices by careful adjustment of the doping profile in the p-type cladding layer. The insertion of a V-Shaped Weaker Waveguide in the n-cladding layer is shown to allow for further reduction of the VFF to a value as low as 35? for better light-coupling efficiency into an optical system without any degradation of the device performance. In the second approach, we showed that the use of a depressed cladding structure design also allows for the reduction of the VFF while maintaining low the threshold current density (210 A/cm2), slightly higher value compare to the first design.
