Hazard maps are essential tools to aid decision makers in land-use planning,sustainable infrastructure development,and emergency *** the availability of historical data,there has been no attempt to produce hazard maps for *** cooperation with the World Bank,this study investigated the natural and anthropogenic hazards that affect *** objective was to assess the hazards that face Kuwait and map the hazards of most *** maps depicting the spatial distribution of hazard-prone areas are discussed in this *** assessment maps were generated using multiple datasets and techniques,including meteorological data,satellite imagery,and *** profiling identified a total of 25 hazards,of which five“priority”hazards were explored in detail:(1)surface water flooding;(2)dust storms and sand encroachment;(3)drought;(4)air pollution;and(5)oil *** results of this study can aid decision makers in targeting the hazards of most *** developed maps are valuable tools for emergency response and hazard mitigation.

BACKGROUND Direct acting antivirals(DAAs)are a very effective treatment for hepatitis C virus(HCV).However,brand DAAs are *** licensing of cheaper generic DAAs may address this issue,but there is a lack of clinical studies comparing the efficacy of generic vs brand DAA *** To compare the efficacy and safety of generic against brand DAAs for chronic hepatitis C treatment in *** This was a retrospective observational study involving 289 patients with chronic HCV infection during 2016 to *** were 149 patients who were treated with brand DAAs,while 140 patients were treated with generic *** used DAAs were Ombitasvir/Paritaprevir/Ritonavir±Dasabuvir±Ribavirin,and Sofosbuvir/Daclatasvir±*** at 12 wk post treatment was the main outcome *** Overall,87 patients(30.1%)had cirrhosis and 68.2%had genotype 1 HCV *** 12 wk post treatment,SVR was achieved by 271(93.8%)of the *** patients who were treated with generic medications,134(95.7%)achieved SVR at 12 wk post treatment,compared to 137(91.9%)among those treated with brand medications(P=0.19).Having cirrhosis[odds ratio(OR):9.41,95%confidence interval(CI):2.47–35.84]and having HCV genotype 3(OR:3.56,95%CI:1.03–12.38)were significant independent predictors of not achieving *** transaminase,gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase,and total bilirubin levels decreased significantly following therapy with both generic and brand *** Generic and brand DAAs demonstrate comparable effectiveness in the treatment of chronic hepatitis C *** are safe and equally effective in improving biochemical markers of hepatic inflammation.

Encryption algorithms are one of the methods to protect dataduring its transmission through an unsafe transmission medium. But encryptionmethods need a lot of time during encryption and decryption, so itis necessary to find encryption algorithms that consume little time whilepreserving the security of the data. In this paper, more than one algorithmwas combined to obtain high security with a short implementation time. Achaotic system, DNA computing, and Salsa20 were combined. A proposed5D chaos system was used to generate more robust keys in a Salsa algorithmand DNA computing. also, the confusion is performed using a new *** proposed chaos system achieves three positive Lyapunov *** results demonstrate of the proposed scheme has a sufficient peak signalto-noise ratio, a low correlation, and a large key space. These factors makeit more efficient than its classical counterpart and can resist statistical anddifferential attacks. The number of changing pixel rates (NPCR) and theunified averaged changed intensity (UACI) values were 0.99710 and UACI33.68. The entropy oscillates from 7.9965 to 7.9982 for the tested encryptedimages. The suggested approach is resistant to heavy attacks and takes lesstime to execute than previously discussed methods, making it an efficient,lightweight image encryption scheme. The method provides lower correlationcoefficients than other methods, another indicator of an efficient imageencryption system. Even though the proposed scheme has useful applicationsin image transmission, it still requires profound improvement in implementingthe high-intelligence scheme and verifying its feasibility on devices with theInternet of Things (IoT) enabled.

Vehicular ad hoc networks(VANETs)provide intelligent navigation and efficient route management,resulting in time savings and cost reductions in the transportation ***,the exchange of beacons and messages over public channels among vehicles and roadside units renders these networks vulnerable to numerous attacks and privacy *** address these challenges,several privacy and security preservation protocols based on blockchain and public key cryptography have been proposed ***,most of these schemes are limited by a long execution time and massive communication costs,which make them inefficient for on-board units(OBUs).Additionally,some of them are still susceptible to many *** such,this study presents a novel protocol based on the fusion of elliptic curve cryptography(ECC)and bilinear pairing(BP)*** formal security analysis is accomplished using the Burrows–Abadi–Needham(BAN)logic,demonstrating that our scheme is verifiably *** proposed scheme’s informal security assessment also shows that it provides salient security features,such as non-repudiation,anonymity,and ***,the scheme is shown to be resilient against attacks,such as packet replays,forgeries,message falsifications,and *** the performance perspective,this protocol yields a 37.88%reduction in communication overheads and a 44.44%improvement in the supported security ***,the proposed scheme can be deployed in VANETs to provide robust security at low overheads.

Taxi plays an important role in providing passenger mobility. Taxi services are among the most frequently used passenger transport services in many cities in the world. Taxis are an integral part of a city’s image. In a recent IRU/EU report taxis are considered as part of the collective public transport chain. In this context taxis role is a complementary mobility option to public transport rather than a competitive one. In the growing city of Dubai taxis are utilized by many local and foreign residences as well as by tourists and visitors. The annual number of taxi trips reached 104 million trips in 2016, while the fleet is growing currently at 9613 and is expected to reach around 12,765 by 2020. Riding a taxi in Dubai is known to be pleasant, comfortable, convenient and relatively affordable experience. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is the Dubai government authority responsible for the planning and governance of the taxi sector in Dubai. The RTA through its agency namely the Public Transport Agency (PTA) exercises such roles. This research is meant to provide a system analysis and structured assessment of the taxi sector in Dubai with the objective of identifying strengths and gaps as well as reviewing the literature and conducting stakeholder consultation hence culminating on developing a comprehensive taxi strategy in Dubai. Such strategy would be targeted to achieve customer satisfaction leading eventually to customer happiness. all in all this is expected to provide an added value and benefit to the business planning for PTA as well as for the overall strategic and futuristic planning by RTA.

Renal transplant patients receive several immunosuppressive drug regimens that are potentially nephrotoxic for *** creatinine is the standard for monitoring kidney function;however,cystatin C(Cys C)and kidney injury molecule-1(KIM-1)have been found to indicate kidney injury earlier than serum creatinine and provide a better reflection of kidney ***,we assessed Cys C and KIM-1 serum levels in renal transplant patients receiving mycophenolate mofetil,tacrolimus,sirolimus,everolimus,or cyclosporine to evaluate kidney *** used both the Chronic Kidney Disease Epidemiology Collaboration(CKD-EPI)2021 equation,which is based on creatinine and combined creatinine with Cys C,and the CKD-EPI 2012 equation,which is based on Cys C alone,to estimate glomerular filtration rate(GFR).Then,we assessed the association between serum KIM-1 and GFRal serum *** estimated GFRs based on creatinine were significantly higher than those based on the other equations,while a significant positive correlation was observed among all *** KIM-1 levels were negatively correlated with the estimated GFRs by the CKD-EPI Cys C and the combined creatinine with Cys C equations.A serum KIM-1 level above 0.71 ng/mL is likely to indicate GFRal transplant ***,serum KIM-1 may be used to monitor renal function when using potentially nephrotoxic drugs in renal transplants.

A Novel Coating Method for Create Filter Media Capable to Remove Phosphate from Wastewater Effectively

Filtration materials coating with metallic oxides represented a good method for phosphate sorption. However, most of the researchers utilize chemicals as a source of metallic oxides and heating process to set the chemicals over the filtration materials. This study is aimed to introduce the furnace bottom ash FBA as a source of metallic oxides;it is available free because it is dumped as a waste material from power generation plants. The method of creating new filter media involves coating the limestone and sand by FBA, and the ordinary Portland cement OPC utilized as binder to binding the mixture materials. The water is the factor which is responsible for activating the OPC. all factors such as mixed materials ratio, water content and age of reaction have subjected to optimization process. The results revealed that the optimal mixture for phosphate removal consists of 40% FBA, 5% OPC from dry weight of supporting material, 35% water ratio from the total weight of FBA and OPC, and 14 days are enough to complete the materials reaction. Limestone-furnace bottom ash LFBA indicated high capacity for phosphate sorption and possibility of efficiency regenerate. This study demonstrates a new method for coating the filtration materials more convenient with sustainability approach.

AIM： To evaluate the effect of punctal occlusion using thermosensitive（smart plug） versus silicone plug for management of aqueous deficient dry eye on cornea sensitivity, ocular surface health and tear film ***： A comparative prospective interventiona case study included 45 patients with bilateral severe form of aqueous deficient dry eye. In each patient, the smar plug was inserted in the lower punctum of the right eye which was considered as study group 1 and silicone plug was inserted in the lower punctum of the left eye o the same patient which was considered as study group2. all patients were subjected to careful history taking and questionnaire for subjective assessment of severity of symptoms. Corneal sensitivity, corneal fluorescein rose bengal staining, Schirmer＇s I test, tear film break up time and conjunctival impression cytology were performed pre and 1, 3 and 6mo post plug ***： A statistically significant improvement in subjective and objective manifestations occurred following treatment with both types of plugs（P 〈0.01）The thermosensitive plug caused significant overal improvement, decrease in frequency of application o tear substitutes and improvement of conjunctiva impression cytology parameters in the inserted side（P 〈0.01）. Canaliculitis was reported in two eyes（4.4% following punctal occlusion using thermosensitive plug（study group 1）. Spontaneous plug loss occurred in 21eyes（46.6%） in the silicone plug group（study group 2）.CONCLUSION： Improvement of subjective and objective manifestations of aqueous deficient dry eye occurs following punctal plug occlusion. Thermosensitive plug has good patient＇s compliance with fewer complications and lower rates of loss compared to the silicone plug.
