spinel ferrite Co1-2 xNixMnxFe2-yCeyO4(0.0≤x=y≤0.3) nanoparticles(NPs) were prepared by sol-gel auto-combustion *** synthesized NPs were examined using several techniques such as X-ray diffraction(XRD),field emission scanning electron microscopy(FE-sEM) coupled with EDX and elemental mapping,transmission electron microscopy(TEM),Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR),and a vibrating sample magnetometer(VsM).The analysis of the crystal structure and the phase identification of samples indicates the formation of spinel cubic phase with the occurrence of CeO2 as secondary phase when the content of Ce substitution element *** addition,all produced samples exhibit cubic symmetry with space group *** confirms the presence of two phases,i.e.,the cubic spinel ferrite and the cubic cerium oxide(CeO2).The characteristics of hysteresis loops reveal the soft ferrimagnetic nature of the different synthesized *** saturation(Ms) and remanent(Mr) magnetizations fall on increasing the content of substituting *** with pure CoFe2O4 NPs,the value of coercive field(Hc) slightly increases for x=y=0.1 and x=y=0,2 ***,Hc reduces with further increasing the x and y *** squareness ratio is found to be in the 0.528-0.400 interval,indicating the single domain NPs with uniaxial anisotropy for the different produced *** magneto crystalline anisotropy constant(Keff),anisotropy field(Ha),magneton number(nB) and the demagnetizing field(N) were also determined and discussed.

It is well known that shear wave propagates slower across than parallel to a fracture, and as a result, a travelling shear wave splits into two directions when it encounters a fracture. shear wave splitting and permeability of porous rock core samples having single fracture were experimentally investigated using a high-pressure triaxial cell, which can measure seismic shear wave velocities in two directions mutually perpendicular to the sample axis in addition to the longitudinal compressive wave velocity. A single fracture was created in the samples using a modified Brazilian split test device, where the cylindrical sample edges were loaded on two diametrically opposite lines by sharp guillotines along the sample length. Based on tilt tests and fracture surface profilometry, the method of artificially induced tensile fracture in the sample was found to create repeatable fracture surfaces and morphologies. seismic velocities of the fractured samples were determined under different levels of stress confinement and fracture shear displacement or mismatch. The effective confining stress was varied from 0.5 MPa to55 MPa, while the fractures were mismatched by 0 mm, 0.45 mm and 1 mm. The degree of matching of the fracture surfaces in the core samples was evaluated using the joint matching coefficient(JMC). shear wave splitting, as measured by the difference in the magnitudes of shear wave velocities parallel(V_(s1))and perpendicular(V_(s2)) to the fracture, is found to be insensitive to the degree of mismatching of the fracture joint surfaces at 2 MPa, and decreased and approached zero as the effective stress was *** models for the stress-and JMC-dependent shear wave splitting and fractured rock permeability were developed based on the experimental observations. In present investigation,organic manure was produced and characterized from liquorice residues using activated Effective Microoganism(AEM).The liquorice waste residues were fermented for the period of 6 months in the presence of activated AEM at the rate of 2.5%and 5%of total fermented ***(62.5 g)was used per 10 kg of liquorice and moister was maintained at 55–60%during *** AEM manure production efficiency was evaluated on the basis of pH,C/N ratio,electrical conductivity(EC)and mineral *** final pH of organic manure was 6.2,C/N ratio reduced from 13.5 to 6.5,EC and the mineral contents were increased of composted *** revealed that the AEM are effective to produce organic manure from agricultural waste matter since the organic manure physico-chemical properties were within the permissible limit and AEM could be used for the production of compost ***,this technique can also be extended to other agricultural waste materials for the production of organic manure.

The Definition of Non-Urgent Visits to the Emergency Department and Validation of Criteria for Referrals

Background: The centers of disease control and prevention define a non-urgent Emergency Department (NU-ED) visit as a medical condition requiring treatment within more than 24 hours. These visits constitute one of the main reasons for emergency department (ED) overcrowding, which greatly affects healthcare workers’ wellbeing, health costs, patients’ satisfaction and treatment outcomes. Currently, there is no solid definition of non-urgent emergency visits, which is the first step towards dealing and potentially solving this issue. Having that, the aim of the current study is to define and validate the criteria for NU-ED visits in Israel. Methods: This qualitative study included twelve senior physicians and nurses working in Emergency Department and/or Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs) across Israel. The study was performed using in-depth, semi-structured, open-ended interviews. Qualitative data analysis was performed by conventional content analysis. Results: The urgency of medical visits was defined based on these two questions: 1) Does the medical condition require an immediate treatment? 2) Is the emergency department the only place that can provide the required treatment at a certain timepoint? We found that non-urgent visits mostly occur during the nights and weekends, when medical treatments are not available in the HMOs. Visitors for non-urgent cases mostly complained about minor injuries or chronic conditions, fever, abdominal or chest pain. Most visits occurred based on referral from the family physician or the nurse from the call center. Participants reported a lack of awareness and knowledge about the roles of the EDs and the available options in the HMOs, which seem unable to provide patients with appropriate treatments. The usage of triage scales seems to ensure that patients are being treated based on the clinical urgency of their condition. Medical cases that score above 3 can be defined as non-urgent visits. Geological sequestration (Gs) of carbon dioxide (CO2) is considered as one of the most promising technologies to reduce the amount of anthropogenic CO2 emission in the atmosphere. To ensure success of CO2 Gs, monitoring is essential on ascertaining movement, volumes and locations of injected CO2 in the sequestration reservoir. One technique is to use time-lapsed seismic survey mapping to provide spatial distribution of seismic wave velocity as an indicator of CO2 migration and volumes in a storage reservoir with time. To examine the use of time-lapsed seismic survey mapping as a monitoring tool for CO2 sequestration, this paper presents mathematical and experimental studies of the effects of supercritical CO2 injection on the seismic velocity of sandstone initially saturated with saline water. The mathematical model is based on poroelasticity theory, particularly the application of the Biot-Gassmann substitution theory in the modeling of the acoustic velocity of porous rocks containing two-phase immiscible pore fluids. The experimental study uses a high pressure and high temperature triaxial cell to clarify the seismic response of a sample of Berea sandstone to supercritical CO2 injection under deep saline aquifer conditions. Measured ultrasonic wave velocity changes during CO2 injection in the sandstone sample show the effects of pore fluid distribution in the seismic velocity of porous rocks. CO2 injection was shown to decrease the P-wave velocity with increasing CO2 saturation whereas the s-wave velocity was almost constant. The results confirm that the Biot-Gassmann theory can be used to model the changes in the acoustic P-wave velocity of sandstone containing different mixtures of supercritical CO2 and saline water provided the distribution of the two fluids in the sandstone pore space is accounted for in the calculation of the pore fluid bulk modulus. Factors Influencing Patients to Decide to Discharge Themselves against Medical Advice at Tertiary Hospitals: A Cross-sectional study

Background: Discharged against medical advice (DAMA) is defined as any instance when a patient wants to leave the hospital against the managing physician’s decision. This study aimed to identify factors that influence patients to decide to be DAMA. Methods: A descriptive, cross-sectional study. The study was conducted in the emergency department (ED) of King Fahad Medical City (KFMC)-saudi Arabia-Riyadh city. A questionnaire in both Arabic and English was distributed to all participants to fill in either English or Arabic. Results: Between 1 March and 30 April 2021, 510 responses were collected. Most of the study participants (31.4%) were over the age of 54. Our findings showed that 12.5% of our participants had taken discharge against medical advice in the past. Results Regarding Factors That Influence Patients to Decide on DAMA showed: Regarding Inappropriate behavior and disrespect of the physician or staff to the patient and his relatives, 262 (51.4%) participants, 85 (16.7%) participants, and 163 (32%) participants agreed, neutral, and disagreed, respectively. Regarding the Lack of physicians’ and nurses’ attention to the patient and his relatives (emotionally), our result showed that 278 (54.5%) participants, 95 (18.6%) participants, and 137 (26.9%) participants agreed, neutral, and disagree, respectively. Regarding failure to inform the patient or his relatives of his condition, it showed that 257 (50.4%) participants, 95 (18.6%) participants, and 158 (31%) participants agreed, neutral, and disagreed, respectively. Regarding feeling better from DAMA, our result showed 226 (44.3%) participants, 119 (23.3%) participants, and 165 (32.4%) participants agreed, neutral, and disagreed, respectively. Regarding patients’ or their relative’s tiredness of hospital stay, the result showed that 166 (32.5%) participants, 104 (20.4%) participants, and 240 (47.1%) participants agreed, neutral, and disagreed, respectively.
