Petroleum.reservoir operations such as oil and gas production, hydraulic fracturing, and water injection induce considerable stress changes that at som. point result in rock failure and em.nation of seism.c energy. Such seism.c energy could be large enough to be felt in the neighborhood of the oil fields, therefore m.ny issues are recently raised regarding its environm.ntal im.act. In this research we analyze the m.gnitudes of m.croseism.city induced by stim.lation of unconventional reservoirs at various basins in the United States and Canada that m.nitored the m.croseism.city induced by hydraulic fracturing operations. In addition, the relationship between m.croseism.c m.gnitude and both depth and injection param.ters is exam.ned to delineate the possible fram.work that controls the system. Generally, m.croseism.city of typical hydraulic fracturing and injection operations is relatively sim.lar in the m.jority of basins under investigation and the overall associating seism.c energy is not strong enough to be the im.ortant factor to jeopardize near surface groundwater resources. Furtherm.re, these events are less energetic com.ared to the m.derately active tectonic zones through the world and usually do not extend over a long period at considerably deep parts. However, the huge volum. of the treatm.nt fluids and im.roper casing cem.nting operation seem.to be prim.ry sources for contam.nating near surface water resources.

Recently, the area located within the Unfinished Obelisk (UO) archeological site showed num.rous seepages and accum.lations of groundwater in a sm.ll pond located a few m.ters from.the Unfinished Obelisk. The Suprem. Council of Antiques sponsored integrated geological, geophysical, and hydrogeological studies to identify the possible sources of groundwater and the optim.m.technique to m.nage the groundwater flow system.that m.y jeopardize this invaluable sculpture. The geological units and the prevailing structure have been studied in detail using Landsat im.gery and field work over two consecutive seasons. The field studies indicated the developm.nt of several fault/joint system. oriented m.inly ENE-WSW with clear indications of m.neralization and intensive weathering effects along these fabrics. Several resistivity (vertical seism.c profile and resistivity im.ging) m.asurem.nts extending down to at least 20 m.depth and Radar im.ging down to 10 m.depth are gathered to investigate the extension of outcrop units and the dom.nant structures prevailing the near subsurface. Geophysical data indicated the developm.nt of at least three hydrostratigraphic units arranged from.top to bottom.as valley fill, fractured/weathered granite, and slightly fractured to m.ssive granitic unit. In addition, the m.jor faults m.pped by resistivity im.ges helped to locate several observation wells and a production well to test the transm.ssivity across the groundwater system. The results of a pum.ing test indicated very low aquifer conductivity and the developm.nt of an aquitard with preferential vertical flow at the study area. This enforces a local interference through a shallow underground drainage system.with sum. and pum. to m.intain low groundwater level at the UO-archeological site.

m.croseism.c technology has been proven to be a practical approach for in-situ m.nitoring of fracture growth during hydraulic fracture stim.lations. m.croseism.c m.nitoring has rapidly evolved in acquisition m.thodology, data processing, and in this paper, we evaluate the progression of this technology with em.hasis on their applications in Barnett shale gas reservoir. m.croseism.c data analysis indicates a direct proportion between m.croseism.c m.m.nt m.gnitude and depth, yet no relation between m.croseism.c activity and either injection rate or injection volum. has been observed. However, large m.croseism.c m.gnitudes have been recorded where hydraulic fracturing stim.lation approaches a fault and therefore the geologic fram.work should be integrated in such program.. In addition, the geom.try of fracture growth resulted by proppant interactions with naturally fractured form.tions follows unpredictable fashion due to redirecting the injection fluids along flow paths associated with the pre-existing fault network in the reservoir. While m.croseism.c im.ging is incredibly useful in revealing the fracture geom.try and the way the fracture evolves, recently several concerns have been raised regarding the capability of m.croseism.c data to provide the fracture dim.nsional param.ters and the fracture m.chanism.that could provide detailed inform.tion for reservoir characterization.

The study area is located in the western extension of the Nile Valley near the boundary with the Western Desert, where the groundwater represents the potential water resource for future land developm.nt for both industrial purposes and agricultural reclam.tion. Historically, geoelectric m.thods proved prospective and practical in exploring for groundwater resources. In this study, 17 Vertical Electric Sounding (VES) were acquired and processed to reveal the subsurface distribution of the water bearing layers and identify the groundwater potential in West m.ghagha area. After routine data analysis and calibration, the prelim.nary results are interpreted in light of the available geological data and indicated the presence of at least four geoelectric layers with m.del resistivity values up to 2000 &Om.ga;•m. The potential aquifer was encountered down to ~120 m.depth with average thickness of 100 m.and is m.de of argillaceous fractured carbonates. Despite the overall poor quality of this aquifer, the integrated geoelectric and hydrogeologic inform.tion indicated a possible potential occurrence of potable groundwater at the southern and northeastern parts of the study area. To im.rove understanding of the groundwater system. in the study area, detailed aquifer characterization is discussed through integration of the available geologic data, m.ps, and the geoelectric sections constructed from.the VES.

Field developm.nt typically requires detailed petrophysical analysis and well defined hydraulic flow units for com.rehensive form.tion evaluation and reservoir characterization. In the present study, pay zones petrophysics are studied using an assem.ly of well log data from.8 wells together with core plugs m.asurem.nts. Petrophysical analysis showed a good reservoir quality with average water saturation increasing toward the East and Southeast of the study area. Using a m.lti-linear regression technique on well logs and core data, perm.ability is estim.ted at well locations for flow unit characterization and flow capacity calculation. Results showed that five hydraulic flow units are identified through the studied wells, with relatively good correlation. Such correlation indicated a good continuity in the net pay zone of Abu m.di Form.tion in the Nile Delta reservoirs. The developed hydraulic flow units (HFUs) are classified according to its hydraulic conductivity into two m.in categories: the first category com.rises the units with low perm.ability (K 1270 m.). The reservoir flow capacity (RFC) of these units indicated the developm.nt of 4 distinct classes (~11, ~30, ~80, and greater than 130 ***). The wells within the Northwestern part of the study area showed three HFUs that relatively vary from.those located at the Southeast where two HFUs are only developed. In addition, the Southeastern part of the reservoir is characterized by good RFC as indicated by the developm.nt of high order HFUs (3, 4, and 5) com.ared to the Northeastern part with predom.nated low order HFUs (1, 2, and 3). Such results are crucial for the efficient field developm.nt and profound reservoir m.nagem.nt of oil and gas fields in the Nile Delta.

Discovered in 1949 with a rate of (195,000) bbl/day from.pay zones in m.shrif and Zubair Form.tion, the expected production of Zubair field is anticipated to be 1125 m.llion bbl/day. Despite this production history, there is a m.jor deficiency in detailed petrophysical analysis of the producing zones. In the present study well log data of 7 wells, selected from.num.rous wells, are investigated in details to exam.ne the reservoir properties and characterize the reservoir architecture. The petrophysical analysis of m.shrif Form.tion indicated two or three pay zones. Lithologically, all zones of m.shrif Form.tion are dom.nantly clean lim.stone to dolom.tic lim.stone with zone 2 and 3 reporting higher dolom.tic content (20% to 40%) com.ared to zone 1 (6% to 13%). m.shrif pay zones indicated a relatively good porosity (18% - 24%) with zone 2 predom.nant in secondary porosity associating dolom.tization processes. In Zubair Form.tion one pay zone is identified but locally could separate into two zones. The clay content is generally low with average content between 2% and 3% while the average porosity showed slightly better values in zone 1 (~0.20) com.ared to average porosity of zone 2 (0.17) that is rich in silt content associating deposition at a relatively deeper parts of the shelf. The average water saturation shows distinct lower values that vary between 15% and 18.7%. The petrophysical results are statistically analyzed and property histogram. and crossplots are constructed to investigate m.tual relationships. Such analysis is essential for understanding the reservoir architecture and calculations of reservoir capacity for future developm.nt.

The intuitive fuzzy set has found im.ortant application in decision-m.king and m.chine *** enrich and utilize the intuitive fuzzy set,this study designed and developed a deep neural network-based glaucom. eye detection using fuzzy difference equations in the dom.in where the retinal im.ges *** im.ge detections are categorized as norm.l eye recognition,suspected glaucom.tous eye recognition,and glaucom.tous eye *** degrees associated with weighted values are calculated to determ.ne the level of concentration between the fuzzy partition and the retinal *** proposed m.del was used to diagnose glaucom. using retinal im.ges and involved utilizing the Convolutional Neural Network(CNN)and deep learning to identify the fuzzy weighted regularization between *** m.thodology was used to clarify the input im.ges and m.ke them.adequate for the process of glaucom. *** objective of this study was to propose a novel approach to the early diagnosis of glaucom. using the Fuzzy Expert System.FES)and Fuzzy differential equation(FDE).The intensities of the different regions in the im.ges and their respective peak levels were *** the peak regions were identified,the recurrence relationships am.ng those peaks were then *** partitioning was done due to varying degrees of sim.lar and dissim.lar concentrations in the *** and dissim.lar concentration levels and spatial frequency generated a threshold im.ge from.the com.ined fuzzy m.trix and *** distinguished between a norm.l and abnorm.l eye condition,thus detecting patients with glaucom.tous eyes.

Background and Aim. The incidence of incisional hernias has been reported to be around 15%. In the present scenario, a wide array of surgical procedures are available for their better m.nagem.nt. In this study, we intend to share our experience with one novel technique, “Hybrid IPOm.(Intraperitoneal onlay m.shplasty)” as a m.nagem.nt option for a selected cohort of patients. m.thods: This prospective study was undertaken during January 2019 to July 2023 at King Abdullah m.dical city, m.kkah. A total of 51 cases were selected for Hybrid IPOm.repair as per inclusion criteria;m.dium.sized (4 - 10 cm. hernia defects;uncom.licated hernias;age m.re than 18 years. The follow-up period of the patients varied from.6 m.nths to 4 years. The operation com.enced with open hernia dissection, m.sh deploym.nt into abdom.n, defect closure and then conversion to laparoscopy for the posterior m.sh placem.nt. Results: A total of 51 cases were repaired successfully with this technique. 48 out of 51 cases were incisional hernias secondary to som. prim.ry procedure done either for hernias itself or som. other intra-abdom.nal pathology. The three cases were prim.ry hernias falling in m.dium.to large category with unaesthetic overlying skin. The age range was 19 to 72 years. The m.an (range) operative tim. was 135 (90 - 240) m.n, and the average blood loss was 70 m.. The m.an (range) hospital stay was 3 (2 - 11) days. All patients returned to routine work within 2 - 3 weeks of surgery. The m.dian follow-up was 15 (6 - 48) m.nths. Of the 51 cases, 3 patients developed serom. (m.naged conservatively), 1 patient developed a large hem.tom. (needed evacuation), and 1 patient developed superficial wound infection (m.naged with antibiotics). Two patients had recurrences;one patient had previously failed m.ltiple repairs, and the other developed a postoperative hem.tom.. None of our patients had an iatrogenic bowel injury.
