BACKGROUND:Studies looking at the effect of hospital teaching status on septic shock related in-hospital mortality are *** aim of this study was to examine the effect of hospital teaching status on mortality in septic shock patients in the United ***:This was a retrospective observational study,using the Nationwide Emergency Department Sample Database(released in 2018).All patients with septic shock were *** sample logistic regression was performed to assess the impact of hospital teaching status on patient ***:A total of 388,552 septic shock patients were included in the *** average age was 66.93 years and 51.7%were *** of the patients presented to metropolitan teaching hospitals(68.2%)and 31.8%presented to metropolitan non-teaching *** shock patients presenting to teaching hospitals were found to have a higher percentage of medical comorbidities,were more likely to be intubated and placed on mechanical ventilation(50.5%vs.46.9%)and had a longer average length of hospital stay(12.47 d vs.10.20 d).Septic shock patients presenting to teaching hospitals had greater odds of in-hospital mortality compared to those presenting to metropolitan non-teaching hospitals(adjusted odd ratio[OR]=1.295,95%confidence interval[CI]:1.256-1.335).CONCLUSION:Septic shock patients presenting to metropolitan teaching hospitals had significantly higher risks of mortality than those presenting to metropolitan non-teaching *** also had higher rates of intubation and mechanical ventilation as well as longer lengths of hospital stay than those in non-teaching hospitals.

The global automotive industry demands world-class levels of product quality, productivity, and competitiveness as well as continual improvement. To achieve this goal,?many vehicle manufacturers companies use?quality control tools to improve the quality of the product with zero defects and highly satisfied to the customer. Nowadays, there are a lot of quality tools applied to solve the problem quickly but it’s still the fact to find out good and efficient solving way. The study emphasizes the identification of potential failure which failures may have encountered in the production process and it will lead to car scrap, rework and influence of the internal production and quality target. After the complete study of the manufacturing process and production data-failure causes, failure rate and data etc. FMEA discover the weak processes in the form of higher risk priority number in the manufacturing of the car painting process, which required reducing by identifying and implementing of the defects and this will improve the process quality of the painting surface of the car. To analysis, the improvement of the car surface defects SPC (Statistical Process Control) tools are more efficient where can easily visible the defects trends. SPC chart is chronological graphs of process data that are used in manufactures industries to help understand, control and improve the process and that although based on statistical theory area easy for practitioners to use and interpret. In order to orient goal of zero defects of the car, surface uses the PFMEA technique to prioritize?the defects and statistically analyze the roots cause of the defect and control the defects through continues improvements process.

Mobile ad hoc networks have a wide range of application usage today, due to its great services, easy installation and configuration, and its other distinctive characteristics. In contrast, the attackers also have developed their own way to disrupt MANET normal operations. Many techniques, approaches and protocols have proposed to support Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) survivability in adversarial environment. Survivable of routing operations is the key aspects of the challenge in MANETs because most of destructive attacks classified as active attacks and all are intent to attack MANET routing operation to prevent it from providing it services in a right time. In this paper, we will discuss the most effective and practical initiatives have designed to keep MANET survive in an adversarial environment and how it supporting MANET availability.

In the modern world,the increasing prevalence of driving poses a risk to road safety and necessitates the development and implementation of effective monitoring *** study aims to enhance road safety by proposing a dual-modal solution for detecting driver drowsiness,which combines heart rate monitoring and face recognition *** research objectives include developing a non-contact method for detecting driver drowsiness,training and assessing the proposed system using pre-trained machine learning models,and implementing a real-time alert feature to trigger warnings when drowsiness is *** learning models based on convolutional neural networks(CNNs),including ResNet and DenseNet,were trained and *** CNN model emerged as the top performer compared to ResNet50,ResNet152v2,and *** tests,employing different camera angles using Logitech BRIO 4K Ultra HD Pro Stream webcam produces accurate face recognition and heart rate ***-world vehicle tests involved six participants and showcased the system’s stability in calculating heart rates and its ability to correlate lower heart rates with *** incorporation of heart rate and face recognition technologies underscores the effectiveness of the proposed system in enhancing road safety and mitigating the risks associated with drowsy driving.

Voltage security assessment of power system is an important and all-inclusive aspect of power system operation and preventive control actions. Fast and accurate detection of critical components of the power system is one essential approach for preventing the occurrence of voltage collapse phenomenon. Over the years, several approaches for voltage collapse point identification and prevention have been widely studied using the continuous power flow approach, minimum singular value of eigenvalues, Jacobian matrices, and power transfer concept. In this work, critical node (bus) identification based on power system network structure is proposed. In this approach, the power system is treated as a multidimensional graph with several nodes (buses) linked together by the transmission lines. An improved line voltage stability margin estimator which is based on active and reactive power changes in a power system is used as the weight of each transmission line and an adaptation of the degree of centrality approach is used to determine the criticality of the system buses. A comparative analysis with other bus voltage stability indices is presented to test the suitability of the proposed approach using the IEEE 14, 30, 57 and 118 bus test systems.

The Role of Serum Ceruloplasmin and Oxidative Stress Markers in Primary Open Angle Glaucoma

Purpose: The study aimed at evaluation of the role of ceruloplasmin (A protein involved in iron homeostasis and can inactivate free radicals) and other oxidative stress markers as superoxide dismutase (SOD), malondialdehyde (MDA) and catalase activity (CAT) in primary open angle glaucoma (POAG). Methods: This observational case control study included 90 persons divided into 3 equal groups: group A of 30 normal persons as a control group, group B of 30 patients of untreated (POAG) (firstly diagnosed) by the clinical characters including measuring intraocular pressure (IOP), optic disc cupping and visual field changes and group C of 30 patients of POAG under medical treatment by topical anti-glaucomatous drugs. Serum ceruloplasmin, superoxide dismutase, malondialdehyde and catalase activity were measured in all groups, statistical analysis of the data was performed. Results: In a comparison to group A of control, serum ceruloplasmin decreased significantly in group B of untreated POAG (20.95 ± 6.01) mg-dl and in group C of POAG under treatment (22.15 ± 6.14) mg-dl (P 0.05). Also, serum superoxide dismutase increased significantly in group B (2.23 ± 0.4) and in group C (2.19 ± 0.38) U-ml (P 0.05). Serum malondialdehyde increased significantly in group B (3.82 ± 0.74) nmol-ml and in group C (3.55 ± 0.73) nmol-ml (P 0.05). Serum catalase decreased significantly in group B (17.97 ± 2.75) U-ml and in group C (18.75 ± 2.33) U-ml in a comparison to the control group A (22.67 ± 3.05) U-ml (P 0.05). Conclusions: Serum ceruloplasmin level and the antioxidant (CAT) activity significantly decreased, while serum levels of SOD, MDA significantly increased in cases of POAG. This may indicate the need for addition of anti-oxidative stress therapy in combination with the anti-glaucomatous drugs. Monitoring these markers can be considered good indicators for determination of the oxidative stress condition in such cases.

Health literacy (HL) is essential to access, comprehend, assess and use health data allowing patients to make better health and quality of life decisions. To assess the health literacy level of hemodialysis Egyptian patients, a cross-sectional study from March to September 2020 was conducted at 4 hemodialysis (HD) units on 439 patients. A translated questionnaire including demographic characteristics and health literacy components was conducted. This study adapted Nutbeam’s model incorporating critical health literacy, interactive health literacy, and functional health literacy. Health literacy of hemodialysis patients was satisfactory among 35.5% of the studied patients. The average total score of health literacy questionnaire was (15.53 ± 4.32) distributed as (2.90 ± 1.26) for functional literacy, (3.10 ± 1.26) for basic health knowledge, (1.65 ± 1.21) for communicative literacy, (2.53 ± 0.70) for interactive literacy, (1.75 ± 1.30) for advanced health knowledge, (1.74 ± 0.48) for critical literacy, and (1.83 ± 0.93) for patient safety. It was found that poor health literacy was associated with low income (OR = 2.54, CI 95%: 1.66_3.89, p p p y transplant (OR = 4.19 CI 95%: 1.12_15.62, p = 0.033). There was a prevalent low health literacy among the studied regular hemodialysis patients which was affected by education, age and income and in turn it affected the adherence to treatment. Understanding the linkage between HL and self-care attitudes should enhance efforts to improve hemodialysis outcomes.

From September 26 to October 5, 2024, the Riyadh International Book Fair was held at King Saud University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. As one of the most influential and highest-grossing book fairs in the Arab world, this year's event attracted over 2,000 publishers from over 30 countries and regions, making it the largest fair to date. Domestic publishing institutions, including the China Intercontinental Press, collectively showcased over 1,000 China-themed books in Arabic, English and *** the book fair, the China-Arab Translation Book Zone featured representative works by renowned Chinese and Arab authors, including Xu Zechen, Liu Zhenyun, and Saudi Arabia's abdul Hadi Haller, presented in both Chinese and Arabic editions. This exhibition highlighted the remarkable achievements of China-Arab book exchanges and cooperation, fostering deeper emotional and cultural ties between the peoples of both nations through the bridge of literature. Seizing this opportunity, China News Release invited Ahmed sayed, president of Egypt's Bayt Al-Hekma Cultural Group, a publishing house mainly devoted to the Arabic translation of Chinese books, as well as Chinese language learning books and courses, to share his story with Chinese literature.

Introduction: Thyroglossal duct cyst is a well-recognized congenital midline neck swelling observed in early childhood and rarely in adults. It may reveal itself as a painless cyst, abscess, or as fistula. Several studies have been conducted across the world, but the literature is scarce on its presentation and complications in the Middle East. This indexing study aims to report a 10-year experience with thyroglossal duct cyst (TGDC) presentation, excision, and recurrence at a teaching hospital in Saudi Arabia (KSA). Methods: A retrospective chart review was conducted at the Armed Forces Hospital Southern Region, KSA from December 2008 to December 2018. Data were retrieved from the electronic medical record system of the hospital and validated with the histopathology records. A total of 48 patients diagnosed as TGDC, sinus or fistula were identified. Stata ver. 16.1 was used to analyze the data and results formulated using regression model and Pearson’s chi-square test. Results: The majority of our patients were female (60.4%), and the most common presentation was a midline neck swelling which moved with tongue protrusion. Surgical excision via Complete Sistrunk procedure was the operation of choice in 60.5% followed by excision of the cyst with tract and sinus tract. Previous infection and surgical history contributed to complications in our patients, but no association of age or gender was observed. Patients presenting with infected and discharging cysts were found to be much more likely to develop a recurrence (9 patients). Cysts deep to the hyoid showed more recurrence [n = 7 (78%)] compared to superficial cysts [n = 2 (22%)] and posterior and multi-tract lesions also showed significant recurrence. Conclusion: Despite being a common cause of neck swelling, thyroglossal duct cyst is often missed on physical exams. To reduce complications, timely diagnosis and treatment are necessary.
