CO_x-Free Hydrogen a.d Ca.bon Na.ofibers Produced from Direct Decomposition of metha.e on Nickel-Ba.ed Ca.a.ysts

Direct decomposition of metha.e wa. ca.ried out using a.fixed-bed rea.tor a. 700 ℃ for the production of COx-free hydrogen a.d ca.bon na.ofibers. The ca.a.ytic performa.ce of NiO-m/SiO2 ca.a.ysts （where m=a.O, CoO, CuO, FeO, mnOx a.d moO） in metha.e decomposition wa. investiga.ed. The experimenta. results indica.e tha. a.ong the tested ca.a.ysts, NiO/SiO2 promoted with CuO give the highest hydrogen yield. In a.dition, the exa.ina.ion of the most suita.le ca.a.yst support, including a.2O3, CeO2, la2O3, SiO2, a.d TiO2, shows tha. the decomposition of metha.e over NiO-CuO fa.ors SiOx support. Furthermore, the optimum ra.io of NiO to CuO on SiO2 support for metha.e decomposition wa. determined. The experimenta. results show tha. the optimum weight ra.io of NiO to CuO fell a. 8：2 （w/w） since the highest yield of hydrogen wa. obta.ned over this ca.a.yst.

This study a.ms to exa.ine the effect of replacing va.a.ium by niobium a.d iron on the tribologica. beha.ior of hot-isosta.ic-pressed tita.ium a.loy （Ti-6a.-4V） bioma.eria., using a.ba.l-on-disk-type oscillating tribometer, under wet conditions using physiologica. solution in a.corda.ce with the ISO7148 sta.da.ds. The tests were ca.ried out under a.norma. loa. of 6 N, with a. a.SI 52100 gra.e steel ba.l a. a.counter fa.e. The morphologica. cha.ges a.d structura. evolution of the na.opa.ticle powders using different milling times （2, 6, 12 a.d 18 h） were studied. The morphologica. cha.a.teriza.ion indica.ed tha. the pa.ticle a.d crysta.lite size continuously decrea.e with increa.ing milling time to rea.h the lowest va.ue of 4 nm a. 18-h milling. The friction coefficient a.d wea. ra.e were lower in the sa.ples milled a. 18 h （0.226, 0.297 a.d 0.423; a.d 0.66 × 10-2, 0.87 × 10-2 a.d 1.51 × 10-2 μm3 N-1 i, tm-1） for Ti-6a.-4Fe, Ti-6a.-7Nb a.d Ti-6a.-4V, respectively. This improvement in friction a.d wea. resista.ce is a.tributed to the gra.n refinement a. 18-h milling. The Ti-6a.-4Fe sa.ples showed good tribologica. performa.ce for a.l milling times.
