The objective of this investigation is to assess the effect of obstacles on numerical heat transfer and fluid flow momentum in a rectangular microchannel(MC).Two distinct configurations were studied:one without obstacles and the other with alternating obstacles placed on the upper and lower *** research utilized the thermal lattice Boltzmann method(LBM),which solves the energy and momentum equations of fluids with the BGK approximation,implemented in a Python coding *** jump and slip velocity conditions were utilized in the simulation for the MC and extended to all obstacle *** study aims to analyze the rarefaction effect,with Knudsen numbers(Kn)of 0.012,0.02,and *** outcomes indicate that rarefaction has a significant impact on the velocity and temperature *** presence of nine obstacles led to slower fluid movement inside the microchannel MC,resulting in faster cooling at the *** MCs with obstacles,the rarefaction effect plays a crucial role in decreasing the Nusselt number(Nu)and skin friction coefficient(Cf).Furthermore,the study demonstrated that the obstacles played a crucial role in boosting fluid flow and heat transfer in the *** findings suggest that the examined configurations could have potential applications as cooling technologies in micro-electro-mechanical systems and microdevice applications.

Ameliorative Effects of Syzygium aromaticumEssential Oil on Fertility in Male Rats Exposed to Manganese

Introduction: Several substances were likely to cause the decline in male fertility which could go up to the complete sterility. The aim of this study was to assess the effects of Syzygium aromaticum essential oil on fertility in male rats exposed to manganese. Materials and Methods: Twenty four male rats, 6 months old, were divided into 2 groups;12 rats in one group received, by oral route, a water containing manganese chloride tetrahydrate (MnCl2·4H2O) is at the dose of 4.79 mg·ml-1 for 12 weeks. The group of control male rats received a distilled water in the same conditions. After a period of experimentation, each group was divided into two subgroups of 6 rats which received daily, by intraperitoneal way, a 0.1 mg/kg body weight, of Syzygium aromaticum essential oil. Results: After a chronic exposure, microscopic examination of the testes showed degeneration of the seminiferous tubules and the gremlin cell. Seminal parameters indicated a decrease in the sperm levels (21.3 × 106 cells/ml) and a rise of morphological abnormalities (66.1%). However, intraperitoneal administration of essential oil extracted from the flower buds of Syzygium aromaticum, during 3 weeks, to the rats previously intoxicated with Mn, showed a significant rising of sperm concentration (61.2 × 106 cells/ml) and a reduction of morphological abnormalities (10.8%). These changes were associated with a significant regeneration of seminiferous tubules and interstitial cells. Conclusion: This study revealed an ameliorative effect of essential oil Syzygium aromaticum in testicular tissue and the sperm quality.

Semi-Blind Reception Using Joint Channel Estimation in IDMA Systems

In this paper a bi-directional system based on linear channel estimation and data detection using turbo detection algorithm is proposed. By combining channel estimation with an iterative chip-by-chip detection process (inner loop) in an iterative way (outer loop), communications performance can be further increased. We present results on blind reception in case of Interleave Division Multiple Access (IDMA) system when the channel coefficients are unknown. We develop a low-complexity iterative joint channel/code estimation method. The philosophy of the turbo processing is the iterative exchange of related information which yields a substantial improvement of the overall system performance. We analyze the achievable performance of the iterative system proposed. Simulation results demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed algorithms.

Assessment of Marine Pollution at Bay of Oran, Algeria

This work aims to the assessment of marine pollution in the Bay of Oran, including zinc, copper, iron and lead. These toxic elements represent a real danger to living organisms. Many factors have increased the marine pollution and marine traffic including the transport of hydrocarbons, industrial and domestic discharges and fishing activities, etc. This study shows essentially the bioconcentration of heavy metals in the species Mytilus galloprovincialis, these filter bivalves have a broad geographical distribution in our study area, so they allow us to better estimate the degree of pollution at the Bay of Oran. The study of changes in metal concentrations has marked some important points for, the four metallic elements are present in the flesh of mussels analyzed at the port of Oran. This study is part of assessment of pollution at the coast of western Algeria to protect the marine environment.

Using the theory of weighted Sobolev spaces with variable exponent and the L1-version on Minty’s lemma, we investigate the existence of solutions for some nonhomogeneous Dirichlet problems generated by the Leray-Lions operator of divergence form, with right-hand side measure. Among the interest of this article is the given of a very important approach to ensure the existence of a weak solution of this type of problem and of generalization to a system with the minimum of conditions.

Xenopus transgenic to screen candidate molecules favoring myelin repair

To facilitate live imaging of demyelination and remyelination, we have generated a Xenopus laevis transgenic line, MBP-GFP-NTR, allowing conditional ablation of myelinating oligodendrocytes. In this line, the proximal portion of mouse myelin basic protein (MBP) regulatory sequence, specific to mature myelin-forming oligodendrocytes, drives the expression of a transgene protein formed by the GFP reporter fused to the Escherichia coli nitroreductase (NTR) selection enzyme. The NTR enzyme converts the innocuous prodrug metronidazole (MTZ) to a cytotoxin. The demyelination response of MBP-GFP-NTR tadpoles to MTZ is followed by spontaneous remyelination after cessation of MTZ treatment. Thanks to the transparency of tadpoles, these events can be monitored in vivo by two-photon imaging and easily quantified on a simple fluorescence macroscope. We have used the MBP-GFP-NTR model to screen in vivo molecules favoring remyelination. At the end of MTZ-induced demyelination, tadpoles were switched to water containing the compounds to be tested. After 3 days of treatment remyelination was assayed by counting the number of GFP+ oligodendrocytes per optic nerve. Using Crispr/Cas9 strategy, the target of the candidate molecule can be easily deleted in the MBPGFP-NTR line to examine the mechanism of action of the candidate molecule. Therefore the Xenopus laevis transgenic line, MBP-GFP-NTR, allowing conditional ablation of myelinating oligodendrocytes, constitutes a new medium-throughput screening platform for myelin repair therapeutics in demyelinating diseases.

Effects of Aqueous Extracts of Seeds of Peganum harmala L. （zygophyllaceae） on 5th Stage Larvae Locusta migratoria cinerascens （Fabricius, 1781）（ Orthoptera： Oedipodinae）

The study has for objective the determination of the efficiency of the aqueous extracts from seeds of Peganum harmala L. on the mortality of the larvas of 5th stage and on the fertility of the female adults of Locusta migratoria cinerascens. For that purpose, a breeding of to custs was realized in th e conditions of labor atories. At hatching, the larvae are fed daily basis lawn Stenotaphrum americanum and a pro tein supplement of wheat b ran. The extraction of the aqueous extract of the seeds of P. harmala is done after maceration in the ethanol, under magnetic stirring using a rotavapor. To determine larval mortality L5, two modes of treatment have been made, one by contact and another by ingestion, using for both treatment 4 doses in a geometric progression, 0.03 mg/mL, 0.06 mg/mL, 0.12 mg/mL and 24 mg/mL. The results showed that the mortality for the doses of 0.12 mg/mL and 0.24 mg/mL, reaches respectively 40% and 60% on the 3rd day, as well for the treatment by contact as by ingestion. But the LD50 for ingestion treatment is lower. It is 0.19 mg/mL contrary to that of the contact treatment （0.19 mg/mL）. The larvae that survived the treatment by ingestion, have suffered morphological changes as well as physiological which consist of a deformation of the wings, delayed of the larval molt, of 6 day s, b locking the fledg ing, the change of the pigmentation as well as an extension of the preoviposition. Fertility was also affected and females lay only twice, a small number of eggs, unlike untreated females which come to lay 3 times with an average of 62.7 eggs/female at first spawning against 50 eggs for the females treated.
