Garden pea productivity and qualities are hampered in zinc(Zn),boron(B),and molybdenum(Mo)deficient soil.Thus,the combination of micronutrients(i.e.,Zn,B,and Mo)and rhizobium is necessary to increase the productivity and quality of garden peas,since this management for garden peas is neglected in Bangladesh.Therefore,the present study was made to assess the effectiveness of rhizobium inoculant singly or in combination with the micronutrients(i.e.,Zn,B,and Mo)on growth,yield,nutrient uptake,and quality of garden peas.Treatments were:T_(1)=Control,T_(2)=Rhizobium inoculation at 50 g/kg seed,T_(3)=T_(2)+Zn_(3)Mo1,T_(4)=T_(2)+B_(2)Mo1,T_(5)=T_(2)+Zn_(3)B_(2),T_(6)=T_(2)+Zn_(3)B_(2)Mo1 and T_(7)=Zn_(3)B_(2)Mo1.All treatments were arranged in a randomized complete block design and repeated all treatments in three times.The application of 3 kg Zn,2 kg B,and 1 kg Mo ha^(−1)with inoculation of Rhizobium at 50 g kg^(−1)seed(T_(6))facilitated to increase of 44.8%in the green pod and 29.7%seed yield over control.The same treatment contributed to attaining the maximum nodulation(25.3 plant^(−1)),Vitamin C(43.5 mg 100 g^(−1)),protein content(22.2%),and nutrient uptake as well as accumulation in garden peas.Among all treatment combinations,treatment T_(6)was found superior to others based on microbial activities,soil fertility,and profitability.The results of the study found that the application of 3 kg Zn,2 kg B,and 1 kg Mo ha^(−1)in combination with Rhizobium inoculation(50 g kg^(−1)seed)can improve the yield and quality of garden peas.The results of the study have the potential for the areas,where there is no use of Rhizobium inoculant or Zn,B,and Mo fertilizer for cultivation of garden pea.

The generation of photovoltaic(PV)solar energy is increasing continuously because it is renewable,unlimited,and clean energy.In the past,generation systems depended on non-renewable sources such as oil,coal,and gas.Therefore,this paper assesses the performance of a 51 kW PV solar power plant connected to a low-voltage grid to feed an administrative building in the 6th of October City,Egypt.The performance analysis of the considered grid-connected PV system is carried out using power system simulator for Engineering(PSS/E)software.Where the PSS/E program,monitors and uses the power analyzer that displays the parameters and measures some parameters such as current,voltage,total power,power factor,frequency,and current and voltage harmonics,the used inverter from the type of grid inverter for the considered system.The results conclude that when the maximum solar radiation is reached,the maximum current can be obtained from the solar panels,thus obtaining the maximum power and power factor.Decreasing total voltage harmonic distortion,a current harmonic distortion within permissible limits using active harmonic distortion because this type is fast in processing up to 300 microseconds.The connection between solar stations and the national grid makes the system more efficient.

Clinical profile,etiology,management and outcome of empyema thoracis associated with COVID-19 infection:A systematic review of published case reports

Objective:To explore the clinical features,diagnosis,etiology,treatment,and outcomes of COVID-19 related empyema.Methods:Using PRISMA statement,a systematic search of relevant case reports published between December 2019 and April 2023 was performed through seven databases.The collected data included demographics,clinical manifestations,diagnostic findings,treatment,and outcomes.Results:Thirty-six case reports were identified with 43 cases of empyema.The included cases had a median age of 55 years(range:12-78 years)and 79.1%(34/43)were males.The majority of cases presented during hospitalization for management of acute COVID-19 infection(29/43,67.4%)and Charlson comorbidity index<3(40/43,93.0%).Pseudomonas aeruginosa was the most commonly isolated microorganism from the pleural fluid(9/43,20.9%)and 16.3%of the cases(7/43)had polymicrobial infections.Chest drainage was performed in all cases while surgery was indicated in 24 cases(55.8%).The most common complication of COVID-19-related empyema was broncho-pleural fistula(2/43,4.7%).The mortality rate was 23.3%(10/43).Sepsis and/or multi-organ failure were the most commonly reported causes of death.On univariate analysis,no statistically significant risk factor for mortality was identified.Conclusions:COVID-19-associated empyema has a variety of predisposing factors,time of presentation,clinical features,and causative organisms.Invasive or minimally invasive surgical procedures are performed more frequently than isolated chest drainage.Empyema in COVID-19 patients worsens their prognosis and can lead to serious complications.

The multi-gate transistors such as Fin-FETs, Tri-gate FETs, and Gate-all-around (GAA) FETs are remarkable breakthrough in the electronic industry. 3D Transistor is taking the place of the conventional 2D planar transistor for many reasons. 3D transistors afford more scalability, energy efficient performance than planar transistors and increase the control on the channel region to reduce the short channel effect, which enables us to extend Moore"s law to further extent. In this paper, we will present a review about their structure, operation, types and fabrication.

Dammam City is one of the gorgeous coastal areas in the Arabian Gulf of Saudi Arabia.The present study aimed to ex-amine one of the copepod species infecting the rosy goatfish that represents a highly consumed fish species by the local population in the Arabian Gulf.The copepod species isolated from the infected fish specimens belong to the family Taeniacanthidae and was iden-tified as Irodes parupenei Ho and Lin(2007),primarily based on its morphological,morphometric,and ultrastructural characteris-tics,especially the structures of the dorsal cephalic area,segmentation of the first antenna,the absence of the maxilliped claw in the fe-male specimens,and the setation and spinulation of the legs 2-4 for the adult females are of great significance in the taxonomic iden-tification.The 18S rRNA gene sequence was analyzed to ensure the precise identity and exact taxonomic status of the copepod species.The result showed that this copepod species belong to Taenicanthidae and closely related to Irodes sauridi(gb|JF781550.1)in the same taxon.More details on the specificity of the goatfish for Irodes species and identifying these parasitic taxa using molecular analysis are given in the present study.

Effective Control of Smart Hybrid Power Systems:Cooperation of Robust LFC and Virtual Inertia Control Systems

A modern power system is expected to consist primarily of renewables,which either lack or have less rotating masses(i.e.,source of inertia)compared to the traditional generation sources.However,the growth of renewables generation,based on power electronics,can substantially decrease the inertia levels of renewable power grids,which can create several frequency stability issues,resulting in power system degradation.To address this issue,this paper presents a recent virtual inertia scheme predicated on electric vehicles(EVs)to mimic the necessary inertia power in low-inertia smart hybrid power systems(SHPSs),thus regulating the system frequency and avoiding system instability.Moreover,to guarantee robust performance and more stability for SHPSs against multiple perturbations,system uncertainties,and physical constraints,this paper also proposes a robust control strategy relying on a coefficient diagram method(CDM)for the load frequency control(LFC)of SHPSs considering high renewables penetration and EVs.The efficacy of the proposed system(i.e.,robust LFC with the proposed VIC strategy)is validated by comparison with a conventional LFC with/without the proposed VIC system.In addition,the simulation outcomes show that the proposed system can considerably support smart low-inertia hybrid power systems for many different contingencies.

A new perspective is needed for positive selection of germinal center B cells with higher-affinity B cell receptors

In a recent issue of Nature Immunology,Chen et al.identified differential expression signatures of metabolic programs within the germinal center(GC)compartment to distinguish GC B cells from different zones[1].Furthermore,they identified an important role of oxidative phosphorylation(OXPHOS)in the process of positive selection of B cells with higher-affinity B cell receptors(BCRs)in GCs.GCs are inducible secondary lymphoid microanatomical structures that provide niches for B cells to capture and present antigens in the light zone(LZ)and to undergo clonal expansion and BCR somatic hypermutation(SHM)in the dark zone(DZ)Fig.1.Alternating migration of activated GC B cells between the LZ and DZ is assumed to result in positive selection of clones with higher-affinity B cell antigen receptors.These clones are characterized by accelerated cell division,suggesting a genomic program activated by BCR and CD40 signaling[2].

Community Detection Applications in Mobile Networks:Towards Data-Driven Design for Next Generation Cellular Networks

The existing radio access network(RAN)is facing many challenges to meet the very strict speed and latency requirements by different mobile applications in addition to the increasing pressure to reduce operating cost.Innovation and development in RAN have been accelerated to tackle these challenges and to define how next generation mobile networks should look like.The role of machine learning(ML)and artificial intelligence(AI)driven innovations within the RAN domain is strengthening and attracting lots of attention to tackle many of the challenging problems.In this paper we surveyed RAN network base stations(BSs)clustering and its applications in the literature.The paper also demonstrates how to leverage community detection algorithms to understand underlying community structures within RAN.Tracking areas(TAs)novel framework was developed by adapting existing community detection algorithm to solve the problem of statically partitioning a set of BSs into TA according to mobility patterns.Finally,live network dataset in dense urban part of Cairo is used to assess how the developed framework is used to partition this part of the network more efficiently compared to other clustering techniques.Results obtained showed that the new methodology saved up to 34.6%of inter TA signaling overhead and surpassing other conventional clustering algorithms.

Every breeding program that aims to create new and improved cultivars with desired traits mostly relies on information related to genetic diversity.Therefore,molecular characterization of germplasms is important to obtain target cultivars with desirable traits.Sweet potato[Ipomoea batatas(L.)Lam]is widely considered the world’s most important crop,with great diversity in morphological and phenotypic traits.The genetic diversity of 20 sweet potato germplasms originating from Bangladesh,CIP,Philippines,Taiwan,and Malaysia were compared,which was accomplished by genetic diversity analysis by exploring 20 microsatellite DNA markers for germplasm characterization and utilization.This information was effective in differentiating or clustering the sweet potato genotypes.A total of 64 alleles were generated using the 20 primers throughout the 20 germplasm samples,with locus IBS97 having the highest number of alleles(5),whereas locus IbU33 had the fewest alleles(2).The alleles varied in size from 105(IbU31)to 213 base pairs(IBS34).The Polymorphism Information Content(PIC)values for the loci IbL46 and IBS97 varied from 0.445 to 0.730.IBS97 has the highest number of effective alleles(3.704),compared to an average of 2.520.The average Shannon’s diversity index(H)was 1.003,ranging from 0.673 in IbU3 to 1.432 in IBS97.The value of gene flow(Nm)varied between 0.000 and 0.005,with an average of 0.003,whereas genetic differentiation(FST-values)ranged between 0.901 and 1.000.The sweet potato germplasm included in this study had a broad genetic base.SP1 vs.SP9 and SP12 vs.SP18 germplasm pairings had the greatest genetic distance(GD=0.965),while SP1 vs.SP2 germplasm couples had the least genetic diversity(GD=0.093).Twenty genotypes were classified into two groups in the UPGMA dendrogram,with 16 genotypes classified as group“A”and the remaining four genotypes,SP10,SP18,SP19,and SP20,classified as group“B.”According to cluster analysis,the anticipated heterozygosity(gene diversity)of Nei(1973)was 0.591 on average.In summary,SSR marker

LOX upregulates FAK phosphorylation to promote metastasis in osteosarcoma

Osteosarcoma is a malignant bone tumor that commonly occurs in the pediatric population.Despite the use of chemotherapy and surgery,metastasis remains to be the leading cause of death in patients with osteosarcoma.We have previously reported that cytoplasmic mislocalization of p27 is associated with a poor outcome in osteosarcoma.In this study,we further show that lysyl oxidase(LOx)expression was associated with p27 mislocalization.Lox is an enigmatic molecule that acts as a tumor suppressor or a metastatic promoter;however,its role in osteosarcoma is still unclear.Hence,we performed both in vitro and in vivo analyses to dissect the role of Lox in osteosarcoma.The result of our survival analysis indicated that Lox expression significantly correlated with a poor outcome in osteosarcoma with or without controlling for the initial metastasis status(P<0.05).Functionally,we found that higher LoX expression promoted osteosarcoma cell proliferation,migration,and invasiveness in vitro and produced a higher number of mice with pulmonary metastases in an orthotopic xenograft mouse model.Mechanistically,phospho-FAK was increased in osteosarcoma cells with high LOX expression.Our results further showed that FAK inhibition significantly reduced tumor cell proliferation and migration in vitro as well as LoX-mediated metastasis in mice.Together,our findings suggest that there is a novel link between p27 mislocalization and LOX expression.LOX plays a pivotal role in osteosarcoma metastasis by upregulating FAK phosphorylation.FAK inhibition may constitute a promising therapeutic strategy to reduce the development of metastasis in osteosarcoma with Lox overexpression.
