Fermentation, formulation and evaluation of PGPR Bacillus subtilis isolate as a bioagent for reducing occurrence of peanut soil-borne diseases

Four isolates of Bacillus subtilis coded,B4,B7,B8 and B10 were examined as biocontrol agents for their abilities and antagonistic effect on the in vitro growth of certain phytopathogenic fungi of peanut,Rhizoctonia solani and Sclerotium *** subtilis isolate B4(GenBank accession ***150884)was the highly effective one for inhibiting the fungal mycelial *** fermentation of *** isolate B4 was carried out and the maximum biomass achieved was 4.53 g L-1 at 11 *** subtilis isolate B4 was formulated and evaluated as a biofungicide to reduce peanut soil-borne diseases under greenhouse and field conditions at the side of Rizolex-T(fungicide)as *** by formulated plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria(PGPR)*** B4 and Rizolex-T in a soil infested with ***,*** and mixture of them were more effective in decreasing percentage of damping-off,root and pod rot disease incidence(%)in greenhouse and open field environment during the two seasons 2015 and *** by PGPR gave highly dry weight and number of healthy pods compared to control of fungi treatment which was nearby to dry weights of healthy pods achieved by treatments by Rizolex-T in a soil infested with ***,*** and mixture of *** PGPR *** B4 gave higher increasing of yield percentage than treatment by Rizolex-T in the two evaluated seasons 2015 and *** can conclude that the produced bioforumlated agent was more efficient as fungicide when compared with the other chemical synthesized fungicides,safe for human and the environment and economy.

Correlation between structural phase transition and physical properties of Co^(2+)/Gd^(3+)co-substituted copper ferrite

The doping of the spinel ferrites with selective cations usually improves the properties of the parent *** effect of Co^(2+)/Gd^(3+)co-substitution on the microstructure,optical,and magnetic properties of Cu1-xCoxFe2-xGdxO4 prepared by the citrate-nitrate auto-combustion synthesis was *** of the samples was performed with powder X-ray diffraction(XRD),Raman and Fouriertransform infrared(FTIR)spectroscopy,field-emission scanning electron microscopy,X-ray energydispersive spectroscopy,UV-Vis spectroscopy,and a vibrating sample *** results of XRD,Raman,and FTIR analysis show a gradual structural phase transition from a tetragonal(I41/amd)structure to a cubic(Fd3m)*** bandgap energy of the studied samples is in a range of 1.57-1.75 eV with a minimum in sample x=0.06 and then *** investigations show that the presence of Co^(2+)/Gd^(3+)cations in an octahedral site of the copper ferrite structure could increase saturation magnetization and coercive field from 567.9 Oe and 23.62 emu/g to 929.4 Oe and 28.27 emu/g,respectively.

Geochemistry of island arc assemblage in the Eastern Desert of Egypt and the role of Pan-African magmatism in crustal growth of the Arabian–Nubian Shield:A review

Neoproterozoic island arc assemblage of the Arabian–Nubian Shield(ANS)in the Eastern Desert(ED)of Egypt comprises juvenile suites of metavolcanics(mV),large amounts of meta-sedimentary rocks(mS),and voluminous metagabbros-diorites(mGD)and syn-tectonic intrusions of older granitoids(OG).We report here the updates of these four rock units in terms of classification,distribution,chemical characteristics,geodynamic evolution,metamorphism,and *** addition,we discuss these integrated data to elucidate a reasonable and reliable model for crustal evolution in the *** main features of these rock units indicate their relation to each other and the geodynamic environment dominated by early immature oceanic island arcs to primitive continental *** information of the island arc metavolcanic and plutonic rocks(gabbros,diorites,tonalites,and granodiorites)furnish evidence of the genetic *** include proximity and a coeval nature in the field;all protolith magmas are subalkaline in nature following calc-alkaline series with minor tholeiitic affinities;common geochemical signature of the arc rocks and subduction-related magmatism;their similar enrichment in LREEs;and similar major element compositions with mafic melts derived from metasomatized mantle *** volcano-sedimentary and the OG rocks underwent multiphase deformation events whereas the mGD complexes deformed *** on the magmatic,sedimentological,and metamorphic evolutions constrained by geochronological data as well as the progressive evolutionary trend from extensional to compressional regimes,a possible gradual decrease in the subducted slab dip angle is the most infl uential in any geodynamic model for arc assemblage in the ED of Egypt.

Enhancing the security of Wireless Sensor Networks(WSNs)improves the usability of their ***,finding solutions to various attacks,such as the blackhole attack,is crucial for the success of WSN *** paper proposes an enhanced version of the AODV(Ad Hoc On-Demand Distance Vector)protocol capable of detecting blackholes and malfunctioning benign nodes in WSNs,thereby avoiding them when delivering *** proposed version employs a network-based reputation system to select the best and most secure path to a *** achieve this goal,the proposed version utilizes the Watchdogs/Pathrater mechanisms in AODV to gather and broadcast reputations to all network nodes to build the network-based reputation *** minimize the network overhead of the proposed approach,the paper uses reputation aggregator nodes only for forwarding reputation ***,to reduce the overhead of updating reputation tables,the paper proposes three mechanisms,which are the prompt broadcast,the regular broadcast,and the light broadcast *** proposed enhanced version has been designed to perform effectively in dynamic environments such as mobile WSNs where nodes,including blackholes,move continuously,which is considered a challenge for other *** the proposed enhanced protocol,a node evaluates the security of different routes to a destination and can select the most secure routing *** paper provides an algorithm that explains the proposed protocol in detail and demonstrates a case study that shows the operations of calculating and updating reputation values when nodes move across different ***,the paper discusses the proposed approach’s overhead analysis to prove the proposed enhancement’s correctness and applicability.

Intra-tumor heterogeneity is now arguably one of the most-studied topics in tumor biology,as it represents a major obstacle to effective cancer *** tumor cells are highly diverse at genetic,epigenetic,and phenotypic levels,intra-tumor heterogeneity can be assumed as an important contributing factor to the nullification of chemotherapeutic effects,and recurrence of the *** on the role of heterogeneous subpopulations of cancer cells with varying cell-cycle dynamics and behavior during cancer progression and treatment;herein,we aim to establish a comprehensive definition for adaptation of neoplastic cells against *** discuss two parallel and yet distinct subpopulations of tumor cells that play pivotal roles in reducing the effects of chemotherapy:"resistant"and"tolerant"***,this review also highlights the impact of the quiescent phase of the cell cycle as a survival mechanism for cancer *** understanding the mechanisms under-lying the quiescence,it provides an insightful perspective on cancer stem cells(CsCs)and their dual and intertwined functions based on their cell cycle state in response to ***-over,CSCs,epithelial-mesenchymal transformed cells,circulating tumor cells(CTCs),and disseminated tumor cells(DTCs),which are mostly in a quiescent state of the cell cycle are proved to have multiple biological links and can be implicated in our viewpoint of cell cycle heterogeneity in ***,increasing our knowledge of cell cycle heterogeneity is a key to identifying new therapeutic solutions,and this emerging concept may provide us with new opportunities to prevent the dreadful cancer recurrence.

Unraveling the nature of sensing in electrostatic mEmS gas sensors

This paper investigates the fundamental sensing mechanism of electrostatic mEmS gas *** compares among the responsivities of a set of mEmS isopropanol sensors before and after functionalization,and in the presence and absence of electrostatic fields when operated in static and dynamic detection *** the static mode,we found that the sensors do not exhibit a measurable change in displacement due to added *** the other hand,bare sensors showed a clear change in displacement in response to isopropanol *** the dynamic mode,functionalized sensors showed a measurable frequency shift due to the added mass of isopropanol *** the presence of strong electrostatic fields,the measured frequency shift was found to be threefold larger than that in their absence in response to the same concentration of isopropanol *** enhanced responsivity of dynamic detection allows the sensors to measure the vapor mass captured by the functional material,which is not the case for static *** detection of isopropanol by bare sensors in static mode shows that change in the medium permittivity is the primary sensing *** enhanced responsivity of dynamic mode sensors when operated in strong electrostatic fields shows that their sensing mechanism is a combination of a weaker added mass effect and a stronger permittivity *** findings show that electrostatic mEmS gas sensors are independent of the direction of the gravitational field and are,thus,robust to changes in *** is erroneous to refer to them as‘gravimetric’sensors.

Evaluation of hand infections in the emergency department using point-of-care ultrasound

BACKGROUND:We aimed to evaluate the utility of point-of-care ultrasound(POCUS)in the assessment of hand infections that present to the emergency department(ED)and its impact on medical decision making and patient ***:We conducted a retrospective review of patients who presented to two urban academic EDs with clinical presentations concerning for skin and soft tissue infections(SSTI)of the hand between December 2015 and December *** trained POCUS fellowship physicians reviewed an ED POCUS database for POCUS examinations of the *** then reviewed patients’electronic health records(EHR)for demographic characteristics,history,physical examination findings,ED course,additional imaging studies,consultations,impact of POCUS on patient care and final ***:We included a total of 50 cases(28 male,22 female)in the final *** most common presenting symptoms and exam findings were pain(100%),swelling(90%),and erythema(74%).The most common sonographic findings were edema(76%),soft tissue swelling(78%),and fluid surrounding the tendon(57%).POCUS was used in medical decision making 68%of the time(n=34),with the use of POCUS leading to changes in management 38%of the time(n=19).POCUS use led to early antibiotic use(11/19),early consultation(10/19),and led to the performance of a required procedure(8/19).The POCUS diagnosis was consistent with the discharge diagnosis of flexor tenosynovitis 8/12 times,abscess 12/16 times,and cellulitis 14/20 ***:POCUS is beneficial for evaluating of hand infections that present to the ED and can be used as an important part of medical decision making to expedite patient care.

Artificial Intelligence Prediction of One-Part Geopolymer Compressive Strength for Sustainable Concrete

Alkali-activated materials/geopolymer(AAms),due to their low carbon emission content,have been the focus of recent studies on ecological *** terms of performance,fly ash and slag are preferredmaterials for precursors for developing a one-part ***,determining the optimum content of the input parameters to obtain adequate performance is quite challenging and scarcely ***,in this study,machine learning methods such as artificial neural networks(ANN)and gene expression programming(GEP)models were developed usingmATLAB and GeneXprotools,respectively,for the prediction of compressive strength under variable input materials and content for fly ash and slag-based one-part *** database for this study contains 171 points extracted from literature with input parameters:fly ash concentration,slag content,calcium hydroxide content,sodium oxide dose,water binder ratio,and curing *** performance of the two models was evaluated under various statistical indices,namely correlation coefficient(R),mean absolute error(mAE),and rootmean square error(RmSE).In terms of the strength prediction efficacy of a one-part geopolymer,ANN outperformed *** and parametric analysis were also performed to identify the significant contributor to *** to a sensitivity analysis,the activator and slag contents had the most effects on the compressive strength at 28 *** water binder ratio was shown to be directly connected to activator percentage,slag percentage,and calcium hydroxide percentage and inversely related to compressive strength at 28 days and curing temperature.

The combined effects of farm yard manure and boron application on growth,and oil quality of Canola grown under newly reclaimed soils

Two field experiments were conducted during the main seasons of 2021/2022 at the Research and Production Station of National Research Centre in Egypt to investigate the effects of farmyard manure(FYm)and boron on Canola growth,yield,oil yield,and *** results unequivocally demonstrated that the combined application of FYm at a rate of 14.4 ton ha^(-1)with a foliar spray of boron at 100 ppm positively influenced plant characteristics,leading to enhanced growth rates and higher yields compared to the control ***,this integrated approach significantly improved nutrient content by enhancing levels of oil content,carbohydrates,proteins,phenolics,flavonoids,and total soluble *** findings provide compelling evidence that utilizing farm manure along with boron can effectively enhance Canola properties in newly reclaimed soils while promoting sustainable agricultural practices.
