Geochemistry of island arc assemblage in the Eastern Desert of Egypt and the role of Pan-African magmatism in crustal growth of the Arabian–Nubian Shield:A review

Neoproterozoic island arc assemblage of the Arabian–Nubian Shield(ANS)in the Eastern Desert(ED)of Egypt comprises juvenile suites of metavolcanics(mV),large amounts of meta-sedimentary rocks(mS),and voluminous metagabbros-diorites(mGD)and syn-tectonic intrusions of older granitoids(OG).We report here the updates of these four rock units in terms of classification,distribution,chemical characteristics,geodynamic evolution,metamorphism,and ages.In addition,we discuss these integrated data to elucidate a reasonable and reliable model for crustal evolution in the ANS.The main features of these rock units indicate their relation to each other and the geodynamic environment dominated by early immature oceanic island arcs to primitive continental arcs.Integrated information of the island arc metavolcanic and plutonic rocks(gabbros,diorites,tonalites,and granodiorites)furnish evidence of the genetic relationships.These include proximity and a coeval nature in the field;all protolith magmas are subalkaline in nature following calc-alkaline series with minor tholeiitic affinities;common geochemical signature of the arc rocks and subduction-related magmatism;their similar enrichment in LREEs;and similar major element compositions with mafic melts derived from metasomatized mantle wedge.The volcano-sedimentary and the OG rocks underwent multiphase deformation events whereas the mGD complexes deformed slightly.Based on the magmatic,sedimentological,and metamorphic evolutions constrained by geochronological data as well as the progressive evolutionary trend from extensional to compressional regimes,a possible gradual decrease in the subducted slab dip angle is the most infl uential in any geodynamic model for arc assemblage in the ED of Egypt.

Petrology and Geochemistry of Some Ophiolitic metaperidotites from the Eastern Desert of Egypt:Insights into Geodynamic Evolution and metasomatic Processes

Ophiolitic peridotites exposed in the Eastern Desert(ED)of Egypt record multiple stages of evolution,including different degrees of partial melting and melt extraction,serpentinization,carbonatization and metamorphism.The present study deals with metaperidotites at two selected localities in the central and southern ED,namely Wadi El-Nabáand Wadi Ghadir,respectively.They represent residual mantle sections of a Neoproterozoic dismembered ophiolite that tectonically emplaced over a volcano-sedimentary succession that represents island–arc assemblages.The studied metaperidotites are serpentinized,with the development of talc-carbonate and quartz-carbonate rocks,especially along shear and fault planes.Fresh relics of primary minerals(olivine,orthopyroxene and Cr-spinel)are preserved in a few samples of partiallyserpentinized peridotite.most of the Cr-spinel crystals have fresh cores followed by outer zones of ferritchromite and Crmagnetite,which indicates that melt extraction from the mantle protolith took place under oxidizing conditions.The protoliths of the studied metaperidotites were dominated by harzburgites,which is supported by the abundance of mesh and bastite textures in addition to some evidence from mineral and whole-rock chemical compositions.The high Cr#(0.62–0.69;Av.0.66)and low TiO_(2)(mary olivine relics,together with the high mg#(0.91–0.93;Av.91)and low CaO,Al2 O3 and TiO_(2)of the orthopyroxene relics,are all comparable with depleted to highly depleted forearc harzburgite from a suprasubduction zone setting.The investigated peridotites have suffered subsequent phases of metasomatism,from oceanfloor hydrothermal alteration(serpentinization)to magmatic hydrothermal alteration.The enrichment of the studied samples in light rare earth elements(LREEs)relative to the heavy ones(HREEs)is attributed to most probably be due to the contamination of their mantle source with granitic source hydr

As the extensive use of cloud computing raises questions about the security of any personal data stored there,cryptography is being used more frequently as a security tool to protect data confidentiality and privacy in the cloud environment.A hypervisor is a virtualization software used in cloud hosting to divide and allocate resources on various pieces of hardware.The choice of hypervisor can significantly impact the performance of cryptographic operations in the cloud environment.An important issue that must be carefully examined is that no hypervisor is completely superior in terms of performance;Each hypervisor should be examined to meet specific needs.The main objective of this study is to provide accurate results to compare the performance of Hyper-V and Kernel-based Virtual machine(KVm)while implementing different cryptographic algorithms to guide cloud service providers and end users in choosing the most suitable hypervisor for their cryptographic needs.This study evaluated the efficiency of two hypervisors,Hyper-V and KVm,in implementing six cryptographic algorithms:Rivest,Shamir,Adleman(RSA),Advanced Encryption Standard(AES),Triple Data Encryption Standard(TripleDES),Carlisle Adams and Stafford Tavares(CAST-128),BLOWFISH,and TwoFish.The study’s findings show that KVm outperforms Hyper-V,with 12.2%less Central Processing Unit(CPU)use and 12.95%less time overall for encryption and decryption operations with various file sizes.The study’s findings emphasize how crucial it is to pick a hypervisor that is appropriate for cryptographic needs in a cloud environment,which could assist both cloud service providers and end users.Future research may focus more on how various hypervisors perform while handling cryptographic workloads.

Entrepreneurship training:its influences on innovation potentials among nursing students

Objective:To evaluate the influences of entrepreneurship training on the innovation potential among nursing students.methods:A quasi-experimental design was utilized to conduct this study.The study was conducted in the classroom at the faculty of nursing,and the“i Hub”center at Ain Shams University(ASU)in Cairo,Egypt.A purposive sample of 42 nursing students who participated in the“Ain Shams University-innovate”competition from the Faculty of Nursing of ASU were included in this study.Data collection tools included(1)Nursing students'innovation skills assessment questionnaire and(2)Innovative projects evaluation tool.Results:There was a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of nursing students'total innovation skills pre-and post-implementation of entrepreneurship training,where P-valuemplementation of entrepreneurship training positively affects nursing students'innovation potential.Developing entrepreneurship education in nursing and integrating it into nursing programs will stimulate creativity,innovation,and entrepreneurship among nursing students and health care services.

Novel design of a compact tunable dual band wireless power transfer(TDB-WPT)system for multiple WPT applications

In this study we present the design and realization of a tunable dual band wireless power transfer(TDB-WPT)coupled resonator system.The frequency response of the tunable band can be controlled using a surface-mounted varactor.The transmitter(Tx)and the receiver(Rx)circuits are symmetric.The top layer contains a feed line with an impedance of 50Ω.Two identical half rings defected ground structures(HR-DGSs)are loaded on the bottom using a varactor diode.We propose a solution for restricted WPT systems working at a single band application according to the operating frequency.The effects of geometry,orientation,relative distance,and misalignments on the coupling coefficients were studied.To validate the simulation results,the proposed TDB-WPT system was fabricated and tested.The system occupied a space of 40 mm×40 mm.It can deliver power to the receiver with an average coupling efficiency of 98%at the tuned band from 817 to 1018 mHz and an efficiency of 95%at a fixed band of 1.6 GHz at a significant transmission distance of 22 mm.The results of the measurements accorded well with those of an equivalent model and the simulation.

The combined effects of farm yard manure and boron application on growth,and oil quality of Canola grown under newly reclaimed soils

Two field experiments were conducted during the main seasons of 2021/2022 at the Research and Production Station of National Research Centre in Egypt to investigate the effects of farmyard manure(FYm)and boron on Canola growth,yield,oil yield,and quality.The results unequivocally demonstrated that the combined application of FYm at a rate of 14.4 ton ha^(-1)with a foliar spray of boron at 100 ppm positively influenced plant characteristics,leading to enhanced growth rates and higher yields compared to the control group.moreover,this integrated approach significantly improved nutrient content by enhancing levels of oil content,carbohydrates,proteins,phenolics,flavonoids,and total soluble sugars.These findings provide compelling evidence that utilizing farm manure along with boron can effectively enhance Canola properties in newly reclaimed soils while promoting sustainable agricultural practices.

A new technique for fault diagnosis in transformer insulating oil based on infrared spectroscopy measurements

Condition monitoring of the insulating system within power transformers has a massive importance according to the electrical utilities.Dissolved gas analysis(DGA)is frequently used for this purpose.However,DGA lacks the necessary level of accuracy to identify all equipment faults,particularly in their initial stages of degradation.Also,it does not have the capability for real-time monitoring and relies on manual sampling and laboratory testing,causing potential delays in fault identification.Additionally,the interpretation of DGA data necessitates specialised expertise,which may pose difficulties for smaller entities that have limited access to resources.Therefore,the contribution of this research is to use infrared spectroscopy measurements as a new effective technique substituting the DGA method for fault diagnosis in insulating oil.The inception faults that were considered in this study were the electrical fault(discharges of high energy)and the thermal fault(300°Cmperaturemulation processes inside the laboratory for both types of inception faults.Subsequently,six samples of pure paraffinic mineral oil were taken to be degraded in the laboratory.Following that,all of them besides another sample that were not subjected to any kind of faults were taken to be examined by Fourier transform infrared(FTIR)spectroscopy to obtain an overview of the oil's behaviour in each fault case.After that,the FTIR analysis was initially verified utilising the DGA method.Then,for further affirmation,the dielectric dissipation factor(DDF)for all samples was measured.In the final analysis,the verification tests provide experimental evidence about the outperformance of this new optical technique in detecting the transformer's inception faults in addition to proving its potential for being a superior alternative to the well-known traditional diagnostic techniques.

Explainable Conformer Network for Detection of COVID-19 Pneumonia from Chest CT Scan: From Concepts toward Clinical Explainability

The early implementation of treatment therapies necessitates the swift and precise identification of COVID-19 pneumonia by the analysis of chest CT scans.This study aims to investigate the indispensable need for precise and interpretable diagnostic tools for improving clinical decision-making for COVID-19 diagnosis.This paper proposes a novel deep learning approach,called Conformer Network,for explainable discrimination of viral pneumonia depending on the lung Region of Infections(ROI)within a single modality radiographic CT scan.Firstly,an efficient U-shaped transformer network is integrated for lung image segmentation.Then,a robust transfer learning technique is introduced to design a robust feature extractor based on pre-trained lightweight Big Transfer(BiT-L)and finetuned on medical data to effectively learn the patterns of infection in the input image.Secondly,this work presents a visual explanation method to guarantee clinical explainability for decisions made by Conformer Network.Experimental evaluation of real-world CT data demonstrated that the diagnostic accuracy of ourmodel outperforms cutting-edge studies with statistical significance.The Conformer Network achieves 97.40% of detection accuracy under cross-validation settings.Our model not only achieves high sensitivity and specificity but also affords visualizations of salient features contributing to each classification decision,enhancing the overall transparency and trustworthiness of our model.The findings provide obvious implications for the ability of our model to empower clinical staff by generating transparent intuitions about the features driving diagnostic decisions.

Egyptian beach ilmenite occurs in a relatively high content in the naturally highly concentrated superficial black sand deposits at specific beach zones in the northern parts of the Nile Delta at Rosetta. microscopic study shows that the ilmenite occurs as fresh homogeneous black or heterogeneous multicoloured altered grains and exhibits three types （homogeneous, exsolved and altered） of ilmenite varieties. XRD data of ilmenite indicates their association with minor hematite and quartz, whereas leucoxene shows its association with Nb-rutUe, pseudorutile and hematite. Grain size distribution suggests a very fine sand size of 〉89% and 80% and a fine sand size of 10.5% and 18.3% for fresh and altered ilmenites, respectively. The density of fresh, altered ilmenite and leucoxene concentrates varies from 2.70, 2.50 to 2.40 ton/m^3, suggesting a gradual decrease from high grade fresh to leucoxene and consistent with variation in magnetic susceptibility as a consequence of the leaching of iron. mass magnetic susceptibility reveals 97.6% of ilmenite and 92% of the altered form are obtained at 0.20 and 0.48 ampere. Fresh iimenite exhibits variable TiO2 （47.18%） and Fe2O3^T （46.10%） with minor mnO, mgO and Cr2O3 （1.22, 1.10 and 0.51%）. The altered ilmenite is higher in TiO2 （76.16%） and SiO2 （4.68%） and lower in Fe2O3^T （14.45%）, mnO, mgO and Cr2O3 （0.39, 0.52 and 0.11%） compared with the fresh form. Three concentrates of ilmenites （G1, G2 and G3） were prepared from crude ore using a Reading cross belt magnetic separator under different conditions, revealing a gradual increase of TiO2, SiO2, Al2O3 and CaO accompanied by a decrease of Fe2O3^T, mgO and Cr2O3 with repetition of the separation processes. Several ore dressing techniques were carried out to upgrade the iimenite concentrate.
