The chemical composition of PM_(2.5) at two sites in Lebanon,a country in the East Mediterranean-Middle East region,is investigated in the spring and summer *** average PM_(2.5) concentrations were of(29±16)μg/m 3 for Beirut urban site and(32±14)μg/m 3 for Beirut suburban *** study showed that the geographic location of the East Mediterranean region,such as its proximity to the Mediterranean Sea and the dust storm intrusion are a significant contributor to the high PM levels from natural sources,which cannot be mitigated,rendering the PM_(2.5) WHO annual Air Quality guideline unattainable due to high natural background,which also applies to the entire Middle East *** and Eastern Europe are the dominant origin of air masses throughout our sampling days,suggesting the long-range transport as an important potential contributor to the high observed concentrations of V,Ni,and sulfate in this region most probably in other East Mediterranean countries than Lebanon *** local sources determined through the chemical speciation including organics are road transport,resuspension of dust and diesel private generators.A health risk assessment of airborne metals was performed and the carcinogenic risk for all the metals exceeded by 42(adults)and 14(children)times the acceptable risk level(10^(-6))at both *** was the predominant carcinogenic metal,emphasizing the need to replace energy production with cleaner energy on a regional level and highlighting the severe impact of air pollution on the health of inhabitants in this region’s main cities.

Pramipexole is a dopamine agonist used in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease and Restless legs syndrome. Although off-label, the use of Pramipexole as an adjunct therapy in treatment resistant depression has recently been documented in the literature with promising results. We present a 75-year-old male with MDD who has failed trials of SSRis, SNRis, TCAs, SGA, TMS, Ketamine, and ECT who was initiated on Pramipexole. We discuss, based on existing literature, the probability of a favorable long-term response to Pramipexole and the potential side effects for our patient. We also highlight the need for future studies designed to test the efficacy of Pramipexole in geriatric patients with TRD.

in this paper, under the hypothesis that y is upper bounded, we construct a Lyapunov functional for the multidimensional isentropic compressible magnetohydrodynamic equations and show that the weak solutions decay exponentially to the equilibrium state in L2 norm. Our result verifies that the method of Daoyuan Fang, Ruizhao Zi and Ting Zhang i1] can be adapted to magnetohydrodynamic equations.

Wireless sensor network (WSN) has been widely used due to its vastrange of applications. The energy problem is one of the important problems influencingthe complete application. Sensor nodes use very small batteries as a powersource and replacing them is not an easy task. With this restriction, the sensornodes must conserve their energy and extend the network lifetime as long as ***, these limits motivate much of the research to suggest solutions in alllayers of the protocol stack to save energy. So, energy management efficiencybecomes a key requirement in WSN design. The efficiency of these networks ishighly dependent on routing protocols directly affecting the network *** is one of the most popular techniques preferred in routing *** this work we propose a novel energy-efficient protocol for WSN based on a batalgorithm called ECO-BAT (Energy Consumption Optimization with BAT algorithmfor WSN) to prolong the network lifetime. We use an objective function thatgenerates an optimal number of sensor clusters with cluster heads (CH) to minimizeenergy consumption. The performance of the proposed approach is comparedwith Low-Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy (LEACH) and EnergyEfficient cluster formation in wireless sensor networks based on the Multi-Objective Bat algorithm (EEMOB) protocols. The results obtained are interestingin terms of energy-saving and prolongation of the network lifetime.

Atmospheric concentrations of radon（^（222）Rn） gas and its short-lived progenies^（218）Po,^（214）Pb, and^（214）Po were continuously monitored every four hours at the ground level in Jeddah city, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The measurements were performed three times every week, starting from November 2014 to October 2015. A method of electrostatic precipitation of positively charged^（218）Po and ^（214）Po by a positive voltage was applied for determining^（222）Rn gas concentration. The short-lived^（222）Rn progeny concentration was determined by using a filter holder connected with the alpha-spectrometric technique. The meteorological parameters（relative air humidity, air temperature, and wind speed） were determined during the measurements of^（222）Rn and its progeny concentrations.^（222）Rn gas as well as its short-lived progeny concentration display a daily and seasonal variation with high values in the night and early morning hours as compared to low values at noon and in the afternoon. The observed monthly atmospheric concentrations showed a seasonal trend with the highest values in the autumn/winter season and the lowest values in the spring/summer season. Moreover, and in parallel with alphaspectrometric measurements, a single filter-holder was used to collect air samples. The deposited activities of^（214）Pb and the long-lived^（222）Rn daughter ^（210）Pb on the filter were measured with the gamma spectrometric technique. The measured activity concentrations of^（214）Pb by both techniques were found to be relatively equal largely. The highest mean seasonally activity concentrations of ^（210）Pb were observed in the autumn/winter season while the lowest mean were observed in the spring/summer season. The mean residence time（MRT） of aerosol particles in the atmospheric air could be estimated from the activity ratios of ^（210）Pb/^（214）Pb.

in this paper, we propose an algorithm for solving inequality constrained mini-max optimization problem. in this algorithm, an active set strategy is used together with mul- tiplier method to convert the inequality constrained mini-max optimization problem into unconstrained optimization problem. A trust-region method is a well-accepted technique in constrained optimization to assure global convergence and is more robust when they deal with rounding errors. One of the advantages of trust-region method is that it does not require the objective function of the model to be convex. A global convergence analysis for the proposed algorithm is presented under some conditions. To show the efficiency of the algorithm numerical results for a number of test problems are reported.
