Assessment of Endometrial Carcinoma Markers and Hormone Receptors Profile before and after Bariatric Surgery: A Clinico-Pathological-Immunohistochemical Study

Background: Obesity is a major risk factor for endometrial carcinoma, and we aim to assess markers of carcinogenesis including PTEN and Ki-67 and hormone receptors profile including ER, PR and AR before and after bariatric surgery to find out its effects in reducing endometrial carcinoma risk in morbid obese females. Patients and methods: The study included 80 females with morbid obesity (BMI > 40 Kg/m2) who underwent bariatric surgery. All were sampled by Pipelle biopsy at baseline and 12 months after operation and examined histopathologically and immunohistochemically for Ki-67, PTEN, ER, PR and AR. Results: Sixty two out of 80 (62/80) females showed no pathological abnormalities;4 had polyps;7 had simple endometrial hyperplasia;4 had atypical endometrial hyperplasia and 3 had endometrial carcinoma. In total, 34 females underwent gastric bypass operation (42.5%) and 46 underwent a sleeve gastrectomy operation (57.5%). There was a statistically significant difference between baseline weight and BMI before and after surgery (p eline biopsies were glandular PTEN null, including 9/15 of the women with baseline endometrial abnormalities, of whom 5/15 regained glandular PTEN expression as their endometrial abnormalities resolved. There was a significant reduction in ER score after surgery (p ely (p = 0.193). AR H-scores were higher significantly in pre-operative biopsies than post-operative ones (p < 0.001). Conclusion: Females with morbid obesity have a higher risk of harboring endometrial abnormalities even if asymptomatic. Effects of Transportation Stress during the Hot-Dry Season on Some Haematological and Physiological Parameters in Moroccan Dromedary Camels （Camelus dromedarius）

The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of road transportation under heat conditions on some haematological [Ht （haematocrit）, blood cells count and EOF （erythrocytes osmotic fragility）] and physiological [Tr （rectal temperature）, HR （heart） and RR （respiratory rates）, and circulating levels of Cor （cortisol）, Glu （glucose） and minerals] parameters in Moroccan dromedary camels. The animals were subjected to road transportation stressor for 2 h by truck during the hot-dry season. Blood samples were collected before loading and transport, and at the end of transport. Transportation induced a significant increase （P 〈 0.05） of erythrocytes count, Ht, EOF, Tr, HR and RR by comparison to values observed before transportation. The same stress conditions induced a significant increase （P 〈 0.05） of plasma Cor （ng/mL） and blood Glu （mM）（220 ± 30 vs. 137 ± 20, 9.7 ± 1.2 vs. 6.4 ± 1. 1 respectively） and a significant decrease （P 〈 0.05） of plasma magnesium （mM）（0.5 ± 0.1 vs. 0.9 ± 0.1） comparatively to pre-transportation values. These results indicate that road transportation associated to heat may be considered as a potent stressor which is able to induce several cellular alterations in camels. Further studies of an eventual protective role of vitamin C against haemolysis induced by transportation stress in camel are needed.

Ultra-Wideband Log Periodic Dipole Antenna (LPDA) for Wireless Communication Applications

This paper proposes a printed log-periodic dipole antenna (LPDA) for ultra wide bandwidth (UWB) applications. The antenna comprises of cascading four U shaped elements of different line lengths with balun circuit to improve the antenna impedance matching. The proposed antenna dimensions are 50 × 50 mm2 with FR4 substrate thickness 0.8 mm. Full-wave EM solver HFSS (High Frequency Structure Simulator) is used for modeling the proposed antenna. The pulse distortion is verified by the measured the proposed antenna performance with virtually steady group delay. The simulation and experimental results show that the proposed antenna exhibits good impedance matching, stable radiation patterns throughout the whole operating frequency bands, acceptable gain and stable group delay over the entire operating band. An UWB extended from 1.85 GHz to 11 GHz is obtained, and the average antenna gain is about 5.5 dBi over the operating band with peak gain around 6.5 dBi and 70% average radiation efficiency.

Radiation therapy after conservative breast surgery is an integral part of the treatment of early breast cancer. The aim of radiotherapy is to achieve the best coverage of the Planning Target Volume (PTV), while reducing the dose to the Organs at Risk (OAR). The Prevalence of Human Metapneumovirus among Children with Acute Respiratory Tract Infection in North Kordofan State, Sudan

Objective: To determine the prevalence of human metapneumovirus (hMPV) among children with acute respiratory tract infection and the correlation between (hMPV) and age group. Methods: This prospective, descriptive cross-sectional hospital-based study is carried out from January to May 2019 among children from under five years old who were admitted to el-Obeid pediatric teaching Hospital, North kordofan, Sudan with acute respiratory tract infection. Results: Fifty hospitalized children with acute respiratory tract infection were enrolled in the study. Two of these (4%) were tested positive for (hMPV) in the age group (7 months - 2 years) old. Moreover, the study showed no significant correlation between infection with (hMPV) and age.

Total Hip Replacement in Young Adults Less Than Fifty Year Old: Our Experience

Background: We report a retrospective study of 47 total prosthesis of hip put in place among the young adult of less than fifty years in the service of Traumatology and Orthopedics at the Wing IV of the CHU Ibn Rochd of Casablanca, over a period from January 2008 to March 2014, with an average rate of decline of 42 months. Results: The deliberate group of 43 patients (47 hips including 4 bilateral) consisted of 26 women, either 60, 47% and 17 men, either 39, 53%. The average age of our patients was 36 years. In our series, the predominant etiology has been conducted for the indication of the hip replacement was the aseptic osteonecrosis of the femoral head which has represented 31.91%. With regards to the choice of implants, 85% of PTH were non-cemented, the cemented PTH has been used in 15% of cases. The Friction Torque metal/polyethylene was used in all cases. The functional outcome was appreciated by the rating of Merle of Aubigne before and after arthroplasty. The average rate of decline of 42 months, and the results were generally satisfactory. They were excellent in 27.78% of cases, very good in 19.44% of cases and good in 44.44% of cases. The results on the Pain were remarkable: the rating of the pain going 2.8 in pre-operative at 5.6 at the latest decline. The results on the walking and mobility were also good. It was noted as a complication: 4 cases of prosthetic dislocation, 1 case of aseptic descellement bipolar, 2 cases of early sepsis on hardware, 3 cases of paralysis of the sciatic external popliteal and 4 cases of periprothetiques ossification. In total, 5 total prosthesis of hip were occasions. The young age does not seem to be an obstacle to the prosthetic surgery. Conclusion: However, a major question remains concerning the distant future of these prostheses in young active subjects, because they will be submitted for many years in a job which can cause the descellement of prosthetic parts.

electrical resistivity measurements by utilizing the Schlumberger array were accomplished at the Western Amman Catchment Basin in Jordan. The objective of this work was to study the groundwater potential in order to clarify the subsurface geology of the study area, and finally to locate productive borehole sites. Thirteen vertical electrical sounding (VES) were conducted by IRIS resistivity instrument in 1999. The AB/2 spacing for VES is 500m. The VES curves obtained were interpreted by using master curves and software modeling techniques. Results of the quantitative interpretation indicate that there are four groups of resistivity values in the study area, corresponding to four geological layers. Besides, two subsurface faults were also detected.

Indentation Creep Behavior and Microstructure of Cu-Ge Ferrites

Cu-Ge ferrite was prepared using the standard ceramic method. The creep rate of polycrystalline Cu1+xGexFe2-2xO4 ferrite has been measured as a function of time at room temperature. It is found that the indentation length increases with the increase of both time and applied load. A regime of individual creep curves is observed for the first and second stages. It is not possible to record the third stage of the curve as usually happened in an ordinary creep test, because fracture of the samples does not occur. The slope is found to increase with increasing germanium and copper content in the steady state region. The high value of n (stress exponent factor) indicates that the dislocation creep is the dominate mechanism. The porosity arrangements developed within the specimens were examined using optical microscope. The results are discussed with regard to models describing the role of the steady state creep rate of metals. The morphology of the samples shows that the porosity is increased by increasing both copper and germanium ions.

Approaches for Evaluating the Groundwater Suitability for Domestic and Agricultural Uses in Guenniche Plain, Northern Tunisia

In add and semi-add regions groundwater is often the only natural resource for water supply. Suitability of groundwater for domestic and irrigation purposes as well as its hydrochemical characteristics was estimated in the aquifer of Guenniche plain in Northern Tunisia. Samples, collected in March and July 2007, were analysed for a range of chemical parameters （pH, conductivity, TDS, calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium, sulphate, chloride, carbonate and bicarbonate）. The mean concentration of cations （mg.L-~） indicated that Na＋〉 Ca2＋〉 Mg2＋〉 K＋. Similarly, the mean concentration of anions （mg.L-1） displayed the following decreasing trend： Cl-〉 SO42〉 HCO3〉 CO32-. A comparison of groundwater quality parameters in relation to specified limits for drinking water showed that the concentrations of EC, TDS, Ca2＋, Na＋, Cl-, SO42 and total hardness exceeded the desirable limits in many water samples. Majority of the samples were not suitable for drinking purposes. Furthermore, suitability of groundwater for irrigation was evaluated based on sodium absorption ratio, sodium percent, permeability index, residual sodium carbonate, magnesium hazard and Kelly＇s ratio. All these quality parameters revealed that the groundwater is of good to suitable category for irrigation.
