Passive RFID Tag for Railway Application

Passive RFID tags based on narrow band absorbers are proposed for railway applications. The tags consist of absorbing tiles of size 30 × 30 cm2. The de-signs of these narrow band absorbers are presented based on infinite array approximation by using periodic boundary conditions. Then, the radar cross sections (RCS) of finite tiles of these designed absorbers are compared with the corresponding RCS of a conduction plate of the same size of the tiles. The difference between the RCS of the absorbing tiles and the conducting tiles corresponds to the RFID digit “1” or “0”. An experiential verification for a sample of these narrow band absorbers is presented based on measuring a fi-nite tile inside a transverse electromagnetic (TEM) cell. The design of this TEM cell is also discussed in detail.

Pentacam changes in primary angle-closure glaucoma after different lines of treatment

AIM: To assess the changes in the anterior chamber parameters using Pentacam following four different lines of treatment of primary angle-closure glaucoma(PACG).METHODS: A retrospective comparative study included 126 patients(126 eye) presented within 24-48 h after acute angle-closure glaucoma(AACG). Patients were divided into 2 groups: group A(68 eyes) with controlled intraocular pressure(IOP) ≤21 mm Hg, which included subgroup A1(34 eyes) with clear lens underwent Nd:YAG laser peripheral iridotomy(LPI) and subgroup A2(34 eyes) with cataract underwent standard phacoemulsification;and group B(58 eyes) with uncontrolled IOP, which included subgroup B1(30 eyes) with clear lens underwent trabeculectomy and subgroup B2(28 eyes) with cataract underwent combined phacoemulsification and trabeculectomy. Patients were fol owed up for at least 3 mo. Primary outcomes were Pentacam anterior segment measurements [anterior chamber angle(ACA) and depth(ACD)]. Secondary outcomes were changes in IOP, visual acuity(VA) and recorded complications. Quantum Distribution Functions for Dusty Plasma in Saturn’s Rings by Using Curvilinear Coordinates

This study aims to estimate the quantum Bogoliubov-Born-Green-Kirkwood-Yvon (BBGKY) hierarchy in curvilinear coordinates. We used the results to calculate the quantum binary and triplet distribution functions in curvilinear coordinates. The analytical form of the quantum distribution functions was obtained for dusty plasma in Saturn’s rings model. We use particles-in-cell (PIC) simulations to find a visualization of dusty three-component plasma phase space in curvilinear coordinates. Our results were compared with others.

Positive and Negative Environmental Effect of Using Zinc Oxide Nanoparticles on Wheat under Drought Stress

Nanoscience is a development concept in the field of agriculture. Water scarcity is one of the most serious stresses that restrict growth of plant. This search was done to value the positive and negative influence of ZnO nanoparticles on wheat plant growth under drought stress. A green synthesis technique was used to produce pollutant-free nano structures. A field experiment was carried out during successive season (2019/2020). NP-Zn-O was applied either by seed-soaking, foliar spraying, or both together applications. The dose of ZnO NPs was 100 mg/l. Data showed that drought stress reduced the grain and shoot wheat yield. The use of different forms of ZnO improved the grain and shoot wheat yield, these increases reached 1.16-, 1.54-fold that control. In addition, one of the other effects of Zn-O-NPs is to increase the levels of chlorophyll and proline antioxidants in plant tissues, as it is a cofactor for enzymes such as superoxide dismutase and catalase. The data suggest that the role of ZnO NPs is not only to improve plant growth and physiological parameters, but also to improve nutrient uptake and plant nutrient levels. In this regard, the use of zinc in the form of ZnO NPs has a positive effect on reducing the adverse effects of drought conditions and improving the nutritional quality of plants.

Objective:To use two diagnostic antigens belonging to the frequently associated in Theileria domain,Theileria equi(***)protein 82(Te 82)and *** 104 k Da microneme-rhoptry antigen precursor(Te 43),to diagnose *** infection in horses as compared with equi merozoite antigen-2(EMA-2).Methods:In the current study,we applied a cocktail-elISA containing two antigens(EMA-2+Te 82)to diagnose *** infection either in experimentally infected horses or in field ***:Our findings have revealed that a cocktail formula of EMA-2+Te 82 provided a more practical and sensitive diagnostic candidate for diagnosing *** infection in horses as compared with Te 82 or Te 43 ***:The elISA technique using a cocktail formula of EMA-2+Te 82 offers a practical and sensitive diagnostic tool for diagnosing *** infection in horses and using of this promising cocktail formula will be applicable for epidemiological surveys and will help control the infection in horses.

Correlation between Left Ventricular End Diastolic Pressure and Torsion Dynamics in Patients with Diastolic Dysfunction, Speckle Tracking Imaging Study

Background: Invasive measuring of LV end diastolic pressure (LVEDP) provides reliable assessment of LV diastolic dysfunction, but its invasive nature limits its use in daily practice. Accurate noninvasive assessment of LV diastolic dysfunction is highly desirable, and the relationship between the degree of LVEDP and LV torsion dynamics assessed by 2D speckle tracking is not clearly assessed;here in our study we aimed to assess the relation between the degree of LVEDP and torsion dynamics of left ventricle. Methods: The study included sixty patients divided equally into 3 groups according to the degree of LVEDP, group I: mmHg, group II: 12 - 18 mmHg, and group III: >18 mmHg;complete conventional echo-Doppler study includes also annular septal E wave peak velocity, E/E’ ratio and 2D-speckle tracking including parameters of LV global longitudinal strain (GLS), peak and time to peak of twist ratio (TR & TT respectively), peak and time to peak of untwist ratio (UTR & UTT respectively). Results: There was significant progressive decrease in GLS with progressive increase in LVEDP from I to III. Untwist ratio increased in group II and decreased in significant degree in group III;Twist ratio did not differ with different grades of LVEDP. LA diameter and E/E’ increase from group I to III. The LVEDP is negatively correlated with the UTR and GLS is positively correlated with UTT, E/E & LA diameter. The E/E’ ratio is correlated negatively with the UTR, GLS and positively with LVEDP & UTT and LA diameter. Conclusions: Noninvasive assessment of LV torsion and untwisting was feasible in patients with various grades of LVEDP and diastolic dysfunction;the peak untwist ratio increased in mild degree of increased LVEDP then decreased again with more increase in LVEDP;LVEDP wasnegatively correlated with the peak untwist ratio and GLS was positively correlated with UTT and E/E’.

Characterization and Impact of Cattle Manure Particle Size on Physical Properties of Sandy Soils

Sandy soils have poor physical properties, which cause them to drain quickly and not hold water well;however, with the addition of cattle manure, sandy soil can be improved. Therefore, experiments were conducted to investigate the characterization and impact of different particle sizes of cattle manure (CMS) on improving some physical properties of sandy soil and thus the yield of lettuce. Cattle manure was ground to powder and was sieved with three different Particle sizes 4.76-2 (CMS1), 2-0.8 (CMS2), 0.8-0.4 (CMS3) mm. Some physical properties were measured for different Particle sizes of manure. A batch of sorption experiments was carried out to study the role of different Particle sizes of manure on adsorption of N, P and K from aqueous solution. Two experiments were carried out on sandy soil (pots and field) to study the impact of adding CMS (5 ton/fed) to enhance some physical properties of sandy soil. The results indicated that the physical properties of cattle manure changed based on particle size fractionation, where Bulk density and saturated water holding capacity increased as particle size decreased, while porosity reduced as particle size decreased. The results of the sorption parameters of N, P and K on different particle sizes of manure indicated that maximum sorption occurred on CMS 3 for both P and K according to Langmuir and Freundlich sorption models. Two experiments showed that CMS had affected significantly the total porosity (TP), bulk density (Bd), slowly drainable pores (SDP), water holding pores and (WHP) available water (AW) in comparison to control. The CMS had a slight effect on Quickly-drainable pores (QDP) and fine capillary pores (FCP) as compared to the control in both experiments. Fresh weight, dry weight and number of leaf lettuce increased significantly with decreasing particle sizes of cattle manure as compared to control.
