In the present study,the spatial-temporal distribution of b-value along the five faults area(the Judi fault,Thaple fault,Kathmandu fault,Motihari-Gauri Shanker fault,and Motihari-Everest fault)was investigated after the Gorkha earthquake(M7.8).The earthquake catalog of 10,500 events was prepared by compiling the published *** study area is bounded in the central Himalaya from 26.5°to 29°in latitude direction and 84°to 87°in longitude *** frequency magnitude distribution shows the variation of the b-value along with fault areas from 0.45 to 0.69,indicating a common characteristic of aftershock *** particular,the Judi fault area,Thaple fault area,and Motihari-Everest fault area are characterized by the low b-values of 0.45±0.02,0.48±0.02,and 0.55±0.04,*** regions could be the source region for future *** low b-value observed for fault areas are also consistent with the thrust faulting pattern in the region as indicated by the focal mechanism of mainshock and major *** temporal variation of b-value shows inevitable fluctuations during25 April to 12 May *** the area selected,the Motihari-Everest fault area is in critical strain(mechanically locked)conditions,as indicated by the stepwise energy release pattern.

In the state Meghalaya,northeast India,>80%of the forest lands are owned by local communities and managed by traditional *** forests are under severe threats due to a number of human *** present study was conducted to assess the plant diversity and identify the community forests for priority conservation in Khasi Hills of *** explorations carried out in the 87 forests reveals the presence of 1300 plant species of which 400 are either rare,endemic or *** the different forest categories,reserve forests had the highest number of species(1190),followed by sacred forests(987 species)and village forests(786 species).Majority of the forests(56)had high-species richness,irreplaceability level(42 forests)and vulnerability level(54).In terms of area,13.8%(1666.8 ha)fall under low risk while 1855 ha under high risk *** risk zone was mostly represented by village *** area of 7661.56 ha of community forests falls under high priority category and hence calls for immediate conservation *** conservation priority map generated in the present study will help to concentrate the protection strategy to the demarcated and adjoining areas and help conservationists and planners to evolve effective strategies for conservation of the community forests.

Partitional clustering techniques such as K-Means(KM),Fuzzy C-Means(FCM),and Rough K-Means(RKM)are very simple and effective techniques for image ***,because their initial cluster centers are randomly determined,it is often seen that certain clusters converge to local *** addition to that,pathology image segmentation is also problematic due to uneven lighting,stain,and camera settings during the microscopic image capturing ***,this study proposes an Improved Slime Mould Algorithm(ISMA)based on opposition based learning and differential evolution’s mutation strategy to perform illumination-free White Blood Cell(WBC)*** ISMA helps to overcome the local optima trapping problem of the partitional clustering techniques to some *** paper also performs a depth analysis by considering only color components of many well-known color spaces for clustering to find the effect of illumination over color pathology image *** and visual results encourage the utilization of illumination-free or color component-based clustering approaches for image ***-KM and“ab”color channels of CIELab color space provide best results with above-99%accuracy for only nucleus ***,for entire WBC segmentation,ISMA-KM and the“CbCr”color component of YCbCr color space provide the best results with an accuracy of above 99%.Furthermore,ISMA-KM and ISMA-RKM have the lowest and highest execution times,*** the other hand,ISMA provides competitive outcomes over CEC2019 benchmark test functions compared to recent well-established and efficient Nature-Inspired Optimization Algorithms(NIOAs).

Amidst the rapid urbanization in the country,the importance of urban public transport has been realized by the *** transport is vital to the city's economy and ensures social *** Rapid Transit System(BRTS)has emerged as an exciting way to decongest the cities,enhancing and increasing mobility and accessi-bility and promoting transit-oriented ***'s longest BRTS,Janmarg,was created with similar ***,the system faces reduced ridership and inhibited growth because of its hidden *** research aims to identify all the factors affecting ridership,accessibility,and inhibiting the system's growth even after having sufficient *** also aims to quantitatively determine whether Janmarg could achieve its establishment's objectives on the city transportation system after thirteen years of the successful implementation of the *** research methodology used in this work combines primary and secondary *** factors are responsible for preventing Janmarg from achieving its objectives and utilizing its full potential are determined and recommended ways to utilize adversities *** show that this study endorses reducing ambiguities and a way forward for making a sustainable transportation system.

Separations of mixtures in fixed-bed adsorbers are influenced by factors such as(1)selectivity of adsorption,Sads,(2)diffusional time constants,Đi/rc 2,and(3)diffusion selectivity,Đ1/Đ*** synergistic separations,intracrystalline diffusion of guest molecules serves to enhance the selectivities dictated by thermodynamics of mixture *** antisynergistic separations,intracrystalline diffusion serves to reverse the hierarchy of selectivities dictated by adsorption *** both scenarios,the productivities of the desired product in fixed-bed operations are crucially dependent on diffusional time constants,Đi/rc 2;these need to be sufficiently low in order for diffusional influences to be ***,the ratioĐ1/Đ2 should be large enough for manifestation of synergistic or antisynergistic *** synergistic and antisynergistic separations have two common,distinguishing ***,for transient uptake within crystals,the more mobile component attains supraequilibrium loadings during the initial stages of the *** overshoots,signifying uphill diffusion,are engendered by the cross-coefficientsΓij(i≠j)of thermodynamic correction ***,the component molar loadings,plotted in composition space,follow serpentine equilibration *** cross-coefficients are neglected,no overshoots in the loadings of the more mobile component are experienced,and the component loadings follow monotonous equilibration *** important takeaway message is that the modeling of mixture separations in fixed-bed adsorbers requires the use of the Maxwell−Stefan equations describing mixture diffusion employing chemical potential gradients as driving forces.

Developing advanced porous materials possessing both a high storage capacity and selectivity for acetylene(C_(2)H_(2))remains challenging but a sought-after *** we show a strategy involving synergic combination of spatial confinement and commensurate stacking for enhanced C_(2)H_(2)storage and capture via maximizing the host–guest and guest–guest *** ultramicroporous metal-organic frameworks(MOFs),MIL-160 and MOF-303 are elaborately constructed to exhibit ultrahigh C_(2)H_(2)uptakes of 235 and 195 cm^(3)·g^(−1),respectively,due to the confinement effect of the suitable pore sizes and periodically dispersed molecular recognition ***,C_(2)H_(2)capacity of MIL-160 sets a new benchmark for C_(2)H_(2)*** exceptional separation performances of two materials for C_(2)H_(2)over both CO_(2)and ethylene(C_(2)H_(4)),which is rarely observed,outperform most of the benchmark materials for C_(2)H_(2)*** scrutinized the origins of ultrahigh C_(2)H_(2)loading in the confined channels via theoretical *** superior separation efficiency for C_(2)H_(2)/CO_(2)and C_(2)H_(2)/C_(2)H_(4)mixtures with unprecedented C_(2)H_(2)trapping capacity(>200 L·kg^(−1))was further demonstrated by dynamic breakthrough experiments.

In this work,we have developed a fifth-order alternative mapped weighted essentially nonoscillatory(AWENO-M)finite volume scheme using non-linear weights of mapped WENO reconstruction scheme of Henrick et al.(***.,207(2005),pp.542-567)for solving hyperbolic conservation *** reconstruction of numerical flux is done using primitive variables instead of conservative *** present scheme results in less spurious oscillations near discontinuities and shows higher-order accuracy at critical points compared to the alternative WENO scheme(AWENO)based on traditional non-linear weights of Jiang and Shu(***.,228(1996),pp.202-228).The third-order Runge-Kutta method has been used for solution advancement in *** Harten-Lax-van Leer-Contact(HLLC)shock-capturing method is used to provide necessary upwinding into the *** performance of the present scheme is evaluated in terms of accuracy,computational cost,and resolution of discontinuities by using various one and two-dimensional test cases.

We experimentally demonstrate a novel quasi-bound state in the continuum(BIC) resonance in the mid-infrared wavelength region with the resonant electric field confined as a slot mode within a low-refractive-index medium sandwiched between high-index *** structures studied here comprise coupled amorphous germanium guided-mode resonance(GMR) structures with a top one-dimensional grating layer and bottom uniform layer separated by a low-index silicon nitride *** slot-mode profile within the silicon nitride layer with mode field confinement >30% is achieved as a solution to the electromagnetic wave propagation through the coupled GMR structure with the dominant field component being perpendicular to the *** quasi-BIC resonance in symmetric 1D grating structures can be observed even at normal incidence when considering a realistic excitation beam with finite angular *** measured transmission peak is found to redshift(remain almost unchanged)under classical(full-conical) mounting *** highest quality factor of ~400 is experimentally extracted at normal incidence under a classical mounting condition with a resonance peak at 3.41 μm *** slot-mode GMR structures with appropriately chosen low-index intermediate layers can find applications in resonantly enhanced sensing and active photonic devices.
