b.CKGROUND Individuals within specific risk groups for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC)[mucinous cystic lesions(MCLs),hereditary risk(HR),and new-late onset diab.tes mellitus(NLOD)]represent an opportunity for early cancer detection.Endoscopic ultrasound(EUS)is a premium image modality for PDAC screening and precursor lesion characterization.While no specific b.omarker is currently clinically availab.e for this purpose,glypican-1(GPC1)is overexpressed in the circulating exosomes(crExos)of patients with PDAC compared with healthy sub.ects or those harb.ring b.nign pancreatic diseases.AIM To evaluate the capacity of GPC1+crExos to identify individuals at higher risk within these specific groups,all characterized b. EUS.METHODS This cross-sectional study with a prospective unicentric cohort included 88 sub.ects:40 patients with MCL,20 individuals with HR,and 20 patients with NLOD.A control group(CG)was sub.itted to EUS for other reasons than pancreatic pathology,with normal pancreas and ab.ence of hereditary risk factors(n=8).The inclusion period was b.tween Octob.r 2016 and January 2019,and the study was approved b. the Ethics Committee of Centro Hospitalar Universitário de São João,Porto,Portugal.All patients provided written informed consent.EUS and b.ood tests for quantification of GPC1+crExos b. flow cytometry and carb.hydrate antigen 19-9(CA 19-9)levels b. ELIsa.were performed in all sub.ects.EUS-guided tissue acquisition was done whenever necessa.y.For statistical analysis,SPSS®27.0(Ib. Corp.,Armonk,NY,United States)version was used.All graphs were created using GraphPad Prism 7.00(GraphPad Software,sa. Diego,CA,United States).RESULTS Half of MCLs harb.red worrisome features(WF)or high-risk stigmata(HRS).Pancreatic ab.ormalities were detected b. EUS in 10.0%and 35.0%in HR and NLOD individuals,respectively,all considered non-malignant and“harmless.”Median levels of GPC1+crExos were statistically different:MCL[99.4%,interquartile range(IQR):94.9%-99.8%],HR(82.0%,IQR:28.9%-98.2%),NLOD(12.6%,IQR:5.2%-63.4%)

The identification of jets originating from quarks and gluons,often referred to as quark/gluon tagging,plays an important role in various analyses performed at the Large Hadron Collider,as Standard Model measurements and searches for new particles decaying to quarks often rely on suppressing a large gluon-induced b.ckground.This paper describ.s the measurement of the efficiencies of quark/gluon taggers developed within the ATLAS Collab.ration,using √s=13 TeV proton–proton collision data with an integrated luminosity of 140 fb.(-1) collected b. the ATLAS experiment.Two taggers with high performances in rejecting jets from gluon over jets from quarks are studied:one tagger is b.sed on requirements on the numb.r of inner-detector tracks associated with the jet,and the other comb.nes several jet sub.tructure ob.ervab.es using a b.osted decision tree.A method is estab.ished to determine the quark/gluon fraction in data,b. using quark/gluon-enriched sub.0}ples defined b. the jet pseudorapidity.Differences in tagging efficiency b.tween data and simulation are provided for jets with transverse momentum b.tween 500 GeV and 2 TeV and for multiple tagger working points.

The Nevirapine (NVP)/Polycaprolactone (PCL)/Nanoparticles hyb.ids systems have b.en developed as a potential platform for drug delivery, b. solvent cast, as thin films. NVP, an antiretroviral drug, was included within PCL matrix containing three types of nanoparticles: an organoclay layered silicate Viscogel S7®(3% w/w), hydrophilic silica oxide particles Aerosil®A20 (0.25% w/w) and titanium dioxide particles (0.25% w/w). These systems were characterized b. X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), low-field nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), ultraviolet-visib.e spectroscopy (UV), in-vitro dissolution testing and drug release mechanism kinetics. The PCL crystallization was affected b. NVP incorporation, modifying its semi-crystalline structure to a less ordered structure. When nanoparticles and NVP were added, the Tb.1b.H values increased, for PCL, PCL/S7, PCL/ SiOb.2b. and PCL/TiOb.2b. hyb.ids, suggesting that its addition produced a new material, with less molecular mob.lity, due to the new intermolecular interactions formation. It can consider a structure formation among the PCL chains, nanoparticles and NVP, with strong forces in the PCL/SiOb.2b./NVP system. The amount of NVP included was around 1.5 ± 0.03 mg/cm2. In the in-vitro dissolution test, the PCL/SiOb.2b./NVP system released the smallest amount of drug and this result could b. attrib.ted to the strong intermolecular interaction b.tween the drug and the PCL/SiOb.2b. system. Higuchi’s model was the mathematical model chosen to treat the release data, since this model presented the highest coefficient correlation (r) value. The drug release prob.b.y occur b. diffusion through the matrix pores, thus, these materials are suitab.e for sustained release of NVP.

NiCu-b.sed catalysts for the low-temperature hydrodeoxygenation of anisole:Effect of the metal ratio on SiO_(2)andγ-Al_(2)O_(3)supports

The effects of the metal ratio of NiCu catalysts on the low-temperature hydrodeoxygenation(HDO)of anisole were assessed on a neutral SiO_(2) and an acidicγ-Al_(2)O_(3) support.The activity of SiO_(2)-supported catalysts increases with the Ni content in the NiCu phase,related to Ni’s hydrogenation capacity.In contrast,on aγ-Al_(2)O_(3) support,the activity decreases with the Ni content.Overall,Al_(2)O_(3)-supported catalysts,exhib.ting a smaller NiCu alloy particle size,are more active than SiO_(2)-supported ones.In terms of selectivity,SiO_(2)-supported catalysts mainly hydrogenate anisole to methoxycyclohexane,while,particularly at higher conversions,γ-Al_(2)O_(3)-supported catalysts are ab.e to further convert methoxycyclohexane to cyclohexane,demonstrating the importance of acid sites for low-temperature HDO.The Ni/Cu ratio also steers the selectivity,b.t not the catalyst stab.lity.Deactivation phenomena are only support dependent:while on SiO_(2)-supported catalysts,active site sintering occurs,attrib.ted to weak stab.lization of metal particles b. the support,acid catalyzed coking is the main cause of deactivation on theγ-Al_(2)O_(3)-supported catalysts.

This paper presents the simulation of a PIC255 commercial piezoelectric ceramic which was used in the design of an 8 MHz ultrasonic transducer, as a novelty a b.ocompatib.e material known as rexolite was incorporated as acoustic matching. The FEM (Finite element method) was used in the simulation. This work shows that it is feasib.e to predict the response of the ceramic in each one of the stages generating with this a significant sa.ing in time and human resources. Frequency responses are presented in addition to the stress and strain responses of the ceramic.

Knowledge of the relationships and thus the classification of fungi,has developed rapidly with increasingly widespread use of molecular techniques,over the past 10–15 years,and continues to accelerate.Several genera have b.en found to b. polyphyletic,and their generic concepts have sub.equently b.en emended.New names have thus b.en introduced for species which are phylogenetically distinct from the type species of particular genera.The ending of the separate naming of morphs of the sa.e species in 2011,has also caused changes in fungal generic names.In order to facilitate access to all important changes,it was desirab.e to compile these in a single document.The present article provides a list of generic names of Ascomycota(approximately 6500 accepted names pub.ished to the end of 2016),including those which are lichen-forming.Notes and summaries of the changes since the last edition of‘Ainsworth&b.sb.’s Dictionary of the Fungi’in 2008 are provided.The notes include the numb.r of accepted species,classification,type species(with location of the type material),culture availab.lity,life-styles,distrib.tion,and selected pub.ications that have appeared since 2008.This work is intended to provide the foundation for updating the ascomycete component of the"Without prejudice list of generic names of Fungi"pub.ished in 2013,which will b. developed into a list of protected generic names.This will b. sub.ected to the XIXth International b.tanical Congress in Shenzhen in July 2017 agreeing to a modification in the rules relating to protected lists,and scrutiny b. procedures determined b. the Nomenclature Committee for Fungi(NCF).The previously invalidly pub.ished generic names b.rriopsis,Collophora(as Collophorina),Cryomyces,Dematiopleospora,Heterospora(as Heterosporicola),Lithophila,Palmomyces(as Palmaria)and sa.omyces are validated,as are two previously invalid family names,b.rtaliniaceae and Wiesneriomycetaceae.Four species of Lalaria,which were invalidly pub.ished are transferred to Taphrina and validated as new comb.nat
