The Relationship between Implant Size and Success rate in Computer Guided Implant Surgery

Guided implant surgery gained acceptance and credit in implant dentistry. The aim of this study is to find out and evaluate the relationship between implant size and success rate following computed tomography scan guided implant surgery. Sixty-four (36 females, 28 males) completely and partially edentulous patients aged between 42 and 65 years old were participated and fulfilled the inclusion criteria of the study. Two hundred and seventeen dental implants (length: 10, 11.5, and 13 mm;Diameter: 3.3, 3.75, and 4.2 mm) were placed using computed tomography scan guided implant surgery, 117 implants were placed in the maxilla, while 100 implants were placed in the mandible. The implants were evaluated for clinical parameters at 2, 4, and 12 weeks intervals after installation. The overall success rate was 95.4%. Clinical stability of the implant size (Diameter 3.3 mm, Length 10 mm) was the least as compared to other dimensions (P ≤ 0.05). Medium and large size implants (Diameter 3.75 and 4.2 mm, Length 11.5 and 13 mm) were the highest success rate in implant surgery. Implants width (diameter 3.3 mm) and length (10 mm) are best avoided in guided computed tomography surgery as compared with other implant sizes especially in atrophic bony areas. Computer-guided implant surgery remains exciting. Watchful planning and precise stability of the surgical guide are mandatory for successful protocol. Further investigations should be performed to assess such technique among dental patients from satisfactory point of view. Intensive cooperation between dentists and software engineering discipline should be aimed to maximize the success of such technique.

Computer Based Assessment (CBA) is being a very popular method to evaluate students’ performance at the university level. This research aims to examine the constructs that affect students’ intention to use the CBA. The proposed model is based on previous technology models such as Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), and Unified Theory of Acceptance and Usage of Technology (TAUT). The proposed CBA model is based on nine variables: Goal Expectancy, Social Influence, Facilitating Conditions, Computer Self Efficacy, Content, Perceived Usefulness, Perceived Ease of Use, Perceived Playfulness, and Behavioral Intention. Data were collected using a survey questionnaire from 546 participants who had used the computer based exam system at the University of Jordan. Results indicate that Perceived Playfulness has a direct effect on CBA use. Perceived Ease of Use, Perceived Usefulness, Computer Self Efficacy, Social Influence, Facilitating Conditions, Content and Goal Expectancy have only indirect effects. The study concludes that a system is more likely to be used by students if it is playful and CBA is more likely to be playful when it is easy to use and useful. Finally, the studied acceptance model for computer based assessment explains approximately only 10% of the variance of behavioral intention to use CBA.

This study aims to optimize the influence of the inlet inclination angle on the Indoor Air Quality(IAQ),heat,and temperature distribution in mixed convection within a two-dimensional square cavityfilled with an air-CO_(2)*** air-CO_(2)mixture enters the cavity through two inlet openings positioned at the top wall,which is set at the ambient temperature(TC).Three values of the Reynolds numbers,ranging from 1000 to 2000,are considered,while the Prandtl number is kept constant(Pr=0.71).The temperature distribution and streamlines are shown for rayleigh number(ra)equal to 104,three inlet inclination anglesϕ(0,π/6 andπ/4)and three CO_(2)concentrations values(1500,2500,3500 ppm)applied at both hot vertical walls(maintained at a constant temperature TH).Afinite volume method is used under the assumption of two-dimensional laminarflow to solve the NavierStokes and energy *** results indicate that inlet inclination angle has an impact on the indoor air quality(IAQ),which,in turn,affects the heat transfer distribution and thermal comfort within the cavity.

A numerical study has been carried out to investigate the effect of aspect ratio on heat transfer by natural convection of nanofluid taking Cu nano particles and the water as based fluid. The flow is laminar, steady state, axisymmetric two-dimensional in a vertical cylindrical channel filled with porous media. Heat is generated uniformly along the center of the channel with its vertical surface remain with cooled constant wall temperature and insulated horizontal top and bottom surfaces. The governing equations which used are continuity, momentum and energy equations using Darcy law and Boussinesq＇s approximation which are transformed to dimensionless equations. The finite difference approach is used to obtain all the computational results using the MATLAB-7 program. The parameters affected on the system are rayleigh number ranging within （10≤ ra ≤ 103）, aspect ratio （1 ≤ As 〈 5） and the volume fraction （0 ≤0 〈 0.2）. The results obtained are presented graphically in the form of streamline and isotherm contour plots and the results show that as ~ increase from 0.01 to 0.2 the value of the mean Nusselt number increase 50.4% for ra = 1,000.

目的:固定矫治结束时,需要去除托槽和牙齿表面的粘结剂以便恢复牙齿的美观和健康。去除粘结剂时,一方面要尽可能地去除干净以恢复牙面的光洁,预防牙菌斑滞留,另一方面更要防止损伤牙釉质。因此,选择合适的车针以及有效评估去除效果具有一定的临床意义。本研究旨在应用放大镜对应用不同种类车针去除粘结剂的效果进行评价,以期对今后临床相关操作有所启示。方法:从中国医科大学附属口腔医院门诊收集因正畸需要拔除的前磨牙60颗,随机分为3组,每组n=20。TC组(用碳化钨车针去除粘结树脂)、SD组(用软盘车针去除粘结树脂)、DB组(用金刚石车针去除粘结树脂)。将每组各分为两个亚组(每亚组n=10),肉眼组(NTC、NSD、NDB)在肉眼直视下操作;放大镜组(MTC、MSD、MDB)借助放大镜进行操作。使用Transbond XT正畸粘结剂粘接金属托槽,24小时后用去托槽钳去除托槽,评估牙面粘结剂残余指数(ARI)。再分别使用不同的车针去除残余的粘结剂,以秒为单位记录去胶时间,最后均用矽粒子进行抛光。应用Mitutoyo SJ-210轮廓仪对每个亚组进行评估,以确定牙齿平均表面粗糙度(ra),在扫描电子显微镜(SEM)下确定牙釉质损伤指数(EDI)并评分。评估在三个时间点进行:粘接前(T0)、去除粘结剂后(T1)、抛光后(T2)。结果:Kruskal-Wallis检验显示各研究组ARI无统计学差异(P>0.05)。方差分析显示,与肉眼组相比,放大镜组去除粘结树脂所需的时间显著减少(Pra均值差异无统计学意义(P>0.05),T1、T2时ra均值差异有统计学意义(Pra值两两比较,除T1时NTC-NSD、NTC-MSD、NSD-MSD差异无统计学意义(P>0.05),其余各组间差异均有统计学意义(Pra值仍略高于其他亚组,其他亚组间差异无统计学意义(P>0.05)。T0、T1、T2的表面粗糙度两两比较显示,NDB和MDB在T1时的ra均值与T0、T2时比较,差异有统计学意义(Pra均值比较,差异无统计学意义(P>0.05)。而在NDB和MDB中,T0、T1、T2的表面粗糙度ra平均值差异有统计学意义(P0.05)。结论:1.低速碳化钨车针与软盘车针相当,可作为金刚石车针的替代品。2.金刚石车针在肉眼直视下操作会对牙釉质造成严重的损伤,而借助放大镜进行操作可以减轻对牙釉质的损伤。3.矽粒子抛光步骤可以使肉眼直视下操作的牙齿表面更光滑。4.无论使用哪种类型的车针去除粘结剂,借助放大镜进行操作都更好。
