Estimation of the Stress-Strength reliability for Exponentiated Pareto Distribution Using Median and ranked Set Sampling Methods

In reliability analysis,the stress-strength model is often used to describe the life of a component which has a.random strength(X)and is subjected to a.random stress(Y).In this paper,we considered the problem of estimating the reliability𝑅𝑅=P[Yributions of both stress and strength are independent and follow exponentiated Pareto *** maximum likelihood estimator of the stress strength reliability is calculated under simple random sample,ranked set sampling and median ranked set sampling *** different reliability estimators under median ranked set sampling are *** estimators are obtained when both strength and stress have an odd or an even set *** two other estimators are obtained when the strength has an odd size and the stress has an even set size and vice *** performances of the suggested estimators are compared with their competitors under simple random sample via a simulation *** simulation study revealed that the stress strength reliability estimates based on ranked set sampling and median ranked set sampling are more efficient than their competitors via simple random *** general,the stress strength reliability estimates based on median ranked set sampling are smaller than the corresponding estimates under ranked set sampling and simple random sample ***:Stress-Strength model,ranked set sampling,median ranked set sampling,maximum likelihood estimation,mean square *** estimates under ranked set sampling and simple random sample methods.

Background Takotsubo syndrome （TS） is an important cardiac disease that affects predominantly postmenopausal women. This study was conducted to determine the impact of age on the short- and long-term outcome of TS patients. Methods ＆ results The data from a collective of 114 TS patients with a mean follow-up of 1591 ：E 1079 days was retrospectively analysed. The study population was divided into two groups （≤ 65 and 〉 65 years） so as to evaluate the impact of age on the short- and long-term mortality of TS patients. In-hospital eventslike life-threatening a.rhythmias （14.58% vs. 9.09%; P = 0.036）, need for mechanical respiratory support （41.66% vs. 28.78%; P = 0.15） as well as inotropic agent use （22.91% vs. 15.15%; P = 0.29）, although not reaching the statistical cut-of, tended to occur more often in the younger group. Heart failure was more common in the elderly age group （P = 0.03）. The use of multivariate analysis ruled out age as a significant marker of long term mortality （Hr： 1.0; 95% CI： 0.9-1.0; P = 0.60）. Conclusions Age does not influence the clinical course of TS in terms of the short- as well as long-term outcome. The study revealed a higher incidence of life threatening a.rhythmias in the younger patient age-group and a higher incidence of heart failure among the older group of patients.

A transformation-induced plasticity phenomenon in Fe65(CoCrMnNi)35 medium-entropy alloy was *** to the X-ray diffraction patterns,the as-cast specimen contains a single-phase face-centered cubic(fcc),while low-temperature annealing at 500℃and 600℃leads to the introduction of a body-centered cubic(bcc)phase as a secondary *** increment of the annealing temperature to above 700℃eliminates the bcc phase,and the microstructure was found to contain a single-phase *** 20%true strain,an fcc-to-bcc phase transformation is observed;whereas,at 28%true strain,an fccto-hcp phase transformation takes place as an additional deformation *** strain-induced phase transformation phenomenon leads to improved tensile properties of this alloy.

Changing paradigms in lower extremity reconstruction in war-related injuries

Background: Ballistic high-energy trauma has substantially increased the severity of non-fatal extremity injuries incurred in modern warfare. Expedient medical care, refinement in surgical techniques, and soft tissue coverage have brought about a paradigm shift in the management of lower extremity wounds during the last decade with an increased emphasis on limb ***: A literature-based study was conducted to analyze reconstructive modalities based on the location, depth, and severity of wounds, as well as mechanism of injury, concomitant vascular injuries and open fractures, choice of flap, timing of definitive reconstruction, and ***: Extremity injuries account for over 60% of injuries in the recent conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan, with the majority secondary to explosive devices. The severity of these injuries is profound compared with civilian registries, and conventional injury scoring systems have failed to accurately predict outcomes in combat trauma. The mainstay of treatment is serial debridement, negative pressure therapy, fracture stabilization, and treatment of concomitant injuries by the forward medical teams with subsequent definitive reconstruction after transport to an advanced military treatment facility. Autologous reconstruction with free tissue transfer and pedicled flaps remains the primary modality for soft tissue coverage in limb salvage. Adjunct innovative modalities, such as external tissue expansion, dermal substitutes, and regenerative ma.rices, have also been successfully utilized for limb ***: Lower extremity injuries account for the vast majority of injuries in modern warzones. Explosive devices represent the most common mechanism of injury, with blast impact leading to extensive soft tissue injuries necessitating complex reconstructive strategies. In recent times,the evolution of blockchain technology has got huge attention from the research community due to its versatile applications and unique security *** IoT has shown wide adoption in various applications including smart cities,healthcare,trade,business,*** these applications,fitness applications have been widely considered for smart fitness *** users of the fitness system are increasing at a high rate thus the gym providers are constantly extending the fitness ***,scheduling such a huge number of requests for fitness exercise is a big ***,the user fitness data is critical thus securing the user fitness data from unauthorized access is also *** overcome these issues,this work proposed a blockchain-based load-balanced task scheduling approach.A thorough analysis has been performed to investigate the applications of IoT in the fitness industry and various scheduling *** proposed scheduling approach aims to schedule the requests of the fitness users in a load-balanced way that maximize the acceptance rate of the users’requests and improve resource *** performance of the proposed task scheduling approach is compared with the state-of-the-art approaches concerning the average resource utilization and task rejection *** obtained results confirm the efficiency of the proposed scheduling *** investigating the performance of the blockchain,various experiments are performed using the Hyperledger Caliper concerning latency,throughput,resource *** Solo approach has shown an improvement of 32%and 26%in throughput as compared to raft and Solo-raft approaches *** obtained results assert that the proposed architecture is applicable for resource-constrained IoT applications and is extensible for different IoT applications.

The optimum conditions for methanol conversion to dimethyl ether over modified sulfated zirconia catalysts prepared by different methods

Sulfated zirconia(SZ)and two promoted 1% Mn/SZ catalysts which have been prepared via sol gel(Mn/SZ-S)and impregnation(Mn/SZ-I)methods were *** morphology of the catalysts was characterized by XrD,BET,NH3-TPD,ICP,SEM and FT-Ir *** conversion of methanol to dimethyl ether and hydrocarbons was ca.ried out in the temperature range of 120−300℃.The Mn/SZ-S showed the highest activity due to the high surface area with suitable *** optimum condition of Mn/SZ-S catalyst was investigated at 200℃ and LHSV of 0.02 h^−1 in a time range from 30 to 210 *** was found that the total conversion decreased from 80.18% to 53.26% at 210 *** reusability of this catalyst was studied at the optimum condition up till four cycles for 1 *** characterization of the reused catalyst showed a significant change in the structure and surface acidity due to the blockage of the surface acid sited by carbonaceous materials.

Kinetic and product studies of the reactions of NO3 with a series of unsaturated organic compounds

rate coefficients for the reaction of N03 radicals with 6 unsaturated volatile organic compounds(VOCs) in a 7300 L simulation chamber at ambient temperature and pressure have been determined by the relative rate *** resulting rate coefficients were determined for isoprene,2-carene,3-carene,methyl vinyl ketone(MVK),metha.rolein(Ma.r)and crotonaldehyde(CA),as(6.6±0.8)×10-13,(1.8±0.6)×10-11,(8.7±0.5)×10-12,(1.24±1.04)×10-16,(3.3±0.9)×10-15 and(5.7±1.2)×10-15 cm3/(molecule·sec),*** experiments indicate that NO3 radical reactions with all the studied unsaturated VOGs proceed through addition to the olefinic bond,however,it indicates that the introduction of a carbonyl group into unsaturated VOGs can deactivate the neighboring olefinic bond towards reaction with the NO3 radical,which is to be expected since the presence of these electronwithdrawing substituents will reduce the electron density in the π orbitals of the alkenes,and will therefore reduce the rate coefficient of these electrophilic addition *** addition,we investigated the product formation from the reactions of 2-carene and 3-carene with the NO3 *** identification of an epoxide(C10H16OH+),caronaldehyde(C10H16O2 H+) and nitrooxy-ketone(C10H16O4 NH+) was achieved using a proton transfer reaction time-of-flight mass spectrometer(PTr-TOF-MS) and a.reaction mechanism is proposed.
