Multiple sclerosis(MS)is the most common chronic disease of the central nervous system(CNS)in young adults and represents the first cause of severe handicap,originally non-traumatic(Oh et al.,2018).MS is chara cterized by the infiltration of auto reactive lymphocytes specific to myelin through the blood-brain barrier,which results in the appearance of inflammatory demyelinating lesions caused by the death of the central nervous system myelinating cells,oligodendrocytes(Oh et al.,2018).There is a prevalence sexual with a ratio of three times more affected women than men.

Resilience has become a cornerstone for risk management and disaster ***,it has evolved extensively both etymologically and conceptually in time and across scientific *** concept has been(re)shaped by the evolution of research and practice *** the opposite of vulnerability for a long time,resilience was first defined as the ability to resist,bounce back,cope with,and recover quickly from the impacts of *** avoid the possible return to conditions of vulnerability and exposure to hazards,the notions of post-disaster development,transformation,and adaptation(build back better)and anticipation,innovation,and proactivity(bounce forward)were then ***,resilience is characterized by a multitude of components and several *** present a selection of 25 components used to define resilience,and an interesting linkage emerges between these components and the dimensions of risk management(prevention,preparedness,response,and recovery),offering a perspective to strengthen resilience through the development of *** its potential,resilience is subject to challenges regarding its operationalization,effectiveness,measurement,credibility,equity,and even its ***,it offers applicability and opportunities for local communities as well as an interdisciplinary look at global challenges.

In this study,a hydrophobic synthetic zeolite,namely ZSM-5 is chosen as an adsorbent/catalyst for toluene *** results showed that toluene adsorption onto ZSM-5 was favourable,following a Langmuir adsorption isotherm ***-5 zeolite was regenerated using gaseous ozone at low *** toluene was oxidised,releasing mainly CO_2 and H_*** of oxidation by-products such as acetic acid and acetaldehyde were formed and rema.ned adsorbed after the oxidativate regeneration with *** four successive cycles of adsorption/ozonation,the adsorption efficiency was not affected（92%-99%）.These results showed that volatile organic compound（VOC）removal by adsorption onto ZSM-5 zeolite followed by ozone regeneration could be used as a promising hybrid process for the control of VOC emissions in terms of efficiency.

Dispersal and its evolution play a key role for population persistence in fragmented landscapes where habitat loss and fragmentation increase the cost of between-habitat *** such contexts,it is important to know how variation in dispersal and other traits is structured,and whether responses to landscape fragmentation are aligned with underlying dispersal-trait correlations,or dispersal ***,therefore,studied trait variation in Erigone longipalpis,a European spider species specialist of(often patchy)salt *** collected spiders in two salt-marsh landscapes differing in habitat *** then reared lab-born spiders for two generations in controlled conditions,and measured dispersal and its association with various key *** longipalpis population densities were lower in the more fragmented *** this,we found no evidence of differences in dispersal,or any other trait we studied,between the two *** a dispersal syndrome was present at the among-individual level(dispersers were more fecund and faster growing,among others),there was no indication it was genetically driven:among-family differences in dispersal were not correlated with differences in other ***,we showed that the observed phenotypic covariations were mostly due to within-family *** hypothesize that the dispersal syndrome is the result of asymmetric food access among siblings,leading to variation in development rates and carrying over to adult *** results show we need to better understand the sources of dispersal variation and syndromes,especially when dispersal may evolve rapidly in response to environmental change.

Different forest fires causing different degrees of effects occur in fire-sensitive forests due to various reasons such as climate *** as well as harmful aspects of forest fires are a multi-disciplinary research *** information systems(GIS)and remote sensing(RS)methods offer a number of benefits for researchers and operators in the field of forest fire *** present study analyses timber pricing based on forest contractor demands of post-salvage logging *** effect of timber obta.ned from compartment units on producers’pricing policy was *** forest fire area(2500 ha)located in Antalya in Turkey was selected as the main study *** parameters(aspect,slope and slope position),stand types(diameter class and crown closure),and burn severity were analyzed together using GIS and R software packages.A multi-linear regression model(R^(2)=0.752)demonstrated that factors that had the most impact on pricing were slope position,aspect,stand age,crown closure and burn *** model can be used to estimate salvage logging prices in Calabrian pine(Pinus brutia Ten.)stands with similar *** administrators and contractors may readily address the unit price of timber by estimating approximate costs in a given forest area for which they are going to *** will help reduce operational planning times of harvesting procedures in burned stands.

Background:The Global Physical Activity Questionnaire(GPAQ)has been used to measure physical activity(PA)and sedentary time in France,but no study has assessed its psychometric *** study aimed to compare the reliability as well as criterion and concurrent validity of the French version of the GPAQ with the French International Physical Activity Questionnaire long form(IPAQ-LF)and use of an accelerometer in a general adult ***:We included 92 participants(students or staff)from the Medicine Campus at the University of Lorra.ne,Nancy(north-eastern France).The French GPAQ was completed twice,7 days apart,to study test-retest *** IPAQ-LF was used to assess concurrent validity of the GPAQ,and participants wore an accelerometer(ActiGraph GT3X+)for 7 days to study criterion *** as well as concurrent and criterion validity of the GPAQ were tested by the intraclass correlation coefficient(ICC),Spearman correlation coefficient for quantitative variables,and Kappa and Phi coefficients for qualitative *** concurrent and criterion validity of GPAQ were assessed by Bland-Altman ***:The GPAQ showed poor to good reliability(ICC=0.37-0.94;Kappa=0.50-0.62)and concurrent validity(Spearman r=0.41-0.86),but only poor criterion validity(Spearman r=-0.22-0.42).Limits of agreement for the GPAQ and accelerometer were wide,with differences between 286.5 min/week and 601.3 min/***:The French version of the GPAQ provides limited but acceptable reliability and validity for the measurement of PA and sedentary *** may be used for assessing PA and sedentary time in a French adult population.

Probabilistic techniques are widely used in the analysis of algorithms to estimate the computational complexity of algorithms or a computational ***,such analyses are performed using paper-and-pencil proofs and the results are sometimes validated using simulation *** techniques are informal and thus may result in an inaccurate *** this paper,we propose a formal technique for analyzing the expected time complexity of algorithms using higher-order-logic theorem *** approach calls for mathematically modeling the algorithm along with its inputs,using indicator random variables,in higher-order *** model is then used to formally reason about the expected time complexity of the underlying algorithm in a theorem *** paper includes the higher-order-logic formalization of indicator random variables,which are fundamental to the proposed *** order to illustrate the practical effiectiveness and utilization of the proposed infrastructure,the paper also includes the analysis of algorithms for three well-known problems,i.e.,the hat-check problem,the birthday paradox and the hiring problem.

Cadaveric liver transplantation for non-acetaminophen fulminant hepatic failure:A 20-year experience

AIM: To investigate the long-term results of liver transplantation (LT) for non-acetaminophen fulminant hepatic failure (FHF). METHODS: Over a 20-year period, 29 FHF patients underwent cadaveric whole LT. Most frequent causes of FHF were hepatitis B virus and drug-related (not acetaminophen) liver failure. All surviving patients were regularly controlled at the out-patient clinic and none was lost to follow-up. Mean follow-up was 101 mo. RESULTS: One month, one-, five- and ten-year patient survival was 79%, 72%, 68% and 68%, respectively. One month, one-, five- and ten-year graft survival was 69%, 65%, 51% and 38%, respectively. Six patients needed early (ne for early acute refractory rejection because of ABO blood group incompatibility, and one for a malignant tumor found in the donor. Two patients with hepatitis B FHF developed cerebral lesions peri-transplantion: One developed irreversible and extensive brain damage leading to death, and one suffered from deep deficits leading to continuous medical care in a specialized institution. CONCLUSION: Long-term outcome of patients transplanted for non-acetaminophen FHF may be excellent. As the quality of life of these patients is also particularly good, LT for FHF is clearly justified, despite lower graft survival compared with LT for other liver diseases.

Nickel or copper electroless metallization of polymers needs the grafting of a catalyst (palladium in the Pd(0) oxidation state) on the substrate surface to be coated. Our previous works on this topic [1-5] have allowed to develop a simple, tin-free method to attach Pd(+2) species from a palladium chloride (PdCl2) solution on any insulating surface and subsequently to reduce them, in the wet way, into the Pd(0) oxidation state. This Pd(0) state of the catalyst allows an instantaneous initiation of the Ni or Cu deposit by immersion in a plating bath. As palladium is an expensive chemical, it appears interesting to replace it by Ni(0) or Cu(0) species which are catalysts of their own ion reduction. Concerning the direct Ni electroless plating, the polymer surface (PI) was made catalytic for the electroless process by deposition (spin- coating or dipping) of an ultra-thin film of an organic nickel salt in an alcoholic solution. The chemical reduction of this salt, checked by XPS, was performed by chemical or photochemical ways and by plasma. Under these conditions, the initiation, by autocatalysis, of the Ni film deposition in an industrial plating bath was immediate i.e. without any initiation time.
