Small incision combined with laparoscopy for ureteropelvic junction obstruction： comparison with retroperitoneal laparoscopic pyeloplasty

Background Laparoscopic dismembered pyeloplasty is technically feasible for ureteropelvic junction （UP j） obstruction although it is still challenged by its technical difficulty and time-consuming. In this study, we compared the initial results of retroperitoneal laparoscopic pyeloplasty versus a combined laparoscopic dissection and open reconstruction through a small incision in the trea.ment of UPj obstruction.Methods Sixty-four patients with primary UPj obstruction underwent pyeloplasty： 32 patients underwent laparoscopic procedure and 32 patients underwent open assisted laparoscopic surgery including two steps, ie, laparoscopic dissection of the UPj transperitoneally and then pyeloplasty via an extended small incision. The demographic data and intraoDerative, postoperative and follow-up conditions of patients were compared between the two groups.Results Preoperative data were comparable in the patients of the two groups. The operative time was shorter （60.9 minutes vs 157.7 minutes, P 〈0.0001） and the complication rate was lower （9.4% vs 31.3%, P 〈0,05） in the open assisted group than in the laparoscopic group. The estimated blood loss （42.3 ml vs 47.8 ml）, time to have normal diet （37.6 hours vs 33.8 hours）, and hospital stay （6.7 days vs 6.2 days） were equivalent, The operative success rate was 97% for the open assisted group and 91% for the laparoscopic group. Conclusions The procedure of combined small incision with laparoscopy for UPj obstruction is technically easy, and the results are promising. It can be used as an alternative to conventional procedures.

Soils provide the structural support, water andnutrients for plants in nature and are considered to be thefoundation of agriculture production. Improving soilquality and soil health has been advocated as the goal ofsoil management toward sustainable agricultural intensifi-cation. There have been renewed efforts to define andquantify soil quality and soil health but establishing aconsensus on the key indicators remains difficult. It isargued that such difficulties are due to the former ways ofthinking in soil management which largely focus on soilproperties alone. A systems approach that treats soils as akey component of agricultural production systems ispromoted. It is argued that soil quality must be quantifiedin terms of crop productivity and impacts on ecosystemsservices that are also strongly driven by climate andmanagement interventions. A systems modeling approachcaptures the interactions among climate, soil, crops andmanagement, and their impacts on system performance,thus helping to quantify the value and quality of ***, three examples are presented to demonstrate this. Inthis systems context, soil management must be an integralpart of systems management practices that also includemanaging the crops and cropping systems under specificclimatic conditions, with cognizance of future climatechange.

建立埋藏火山的高精度地层格架对了解火山系统的演化、储层成因和资源潜力等具有重要意义.以新西兰Taranaki盆地中新世Kora火山为例,利用小波变换和井震联合对比等方法,开展火山地层高精度格架分析.在Kora火山识别出20个堆积单元,主要为火山碎屑堆积单元以及再搬运碎屑堆积单元,可合并为5个部分(相当于5个火山机构);整体上火山地层的建造与喷发中心的形成和迁移有关.利用井和常规三维地震数据可以较为准确地识别出喷发间断不整合界面系统、可建立堆积单元尺度的高精度地层格架,利用常规三维地震数据只能识别出部分喷发间断不整合界面、只能建立火山机构尺度的地层格架.相对年代的高精度地层格架是埋藏火山的更好选择.

Background: Prostate cancer, the most common male cancer, represents a real public health problem in terms of its frequency and severity in different countries around the world. It disproportionately affects people of African descent wherever they live in the world [1]. To the best of our knowledge, its extent and particularities in the African environment are not well known. Objective: To determine the epidemiological and histopathological profile of prostate cancer in the CUK anatomopathology department. Methodology: This is a retrospective study conducted at the University Clinics of Kinshasa Anapathology Department from january 1, 2015 to December 31, 2022, a period of 8 years. Word processing and tables were entered using the Hp brand computer, with Microsoft Office WORD 2016 software. Data analysis was performed with SPSS version 22.0 software. Results were presented in tables and figures. Results: Prostate was diagnosed in 132 cases, i.e. 1.58% of all CUK laboratory analyses and 8% of cancers diagnosed. The age group most affected was 66-75 years, i.e. 59% of all subjects. Adenocarcinoma was the most frequent histological type, and biopsy dominated in 111 cases (84.1%). Conclusion: Prostate cancer is a real public health problem. Worldwide, and in the Democratic Republic of Congo, it is the most frequently diagnosed cancer in men, and the leading cause of cancer-related death in men. In the DRC, because of the delay in consulting our patients and the weakness of systematic screening, patients are seen at an advanced stage of the disease. Trea.ment is multidisciplinary, involving surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy (including targeted therapies). Patient awareness and screening campaigns will help to considerably reduce the delay in diagnosis and the morbidity and mortality associated with prostate cancer.

A great deal of effort has been made over the last decades to develop a better polarized electron source for high energy physics. Several laboratories operate DC guns with a gallium arsenide photocathode, which yield a highly polarized electron beam. However, the beam’s emittance might well be improved by using a superconducting radio frequency （SRF） electron gun, which delivers beams of a higher brightness than that from DC guns because the field gradient at the cathode is higher. SRF guns with metal and CsTe cathodes have been tested successfully. To produce polarized electrons, a Gallium-Arsenide photo-cathode must be used： an experiment to do so in a superconducting RF gun is under way at BNL. Since a bulk gallium arsenide （GaAs） photocathode is normal conducting, a problem arises from the heat load stemming from the cathode. We present our measurements of the electrical resistance of GaAs at cryogenic temperatures, a prediction of the heat load and verification by measuring the quality factor of the gun with and without the cathode at 2 K. We simulate heat generation and flow from the GaAs cathode using the ANSYS program. By following the findings with the heat load model, we designed and fabricated a new cathode holder （plug） to decrease the heat load from GaAs.

香沟-寺沟钨矿位于陕西省山阳县,是南秦岭地区新发现的金钨矿床之一。前人对该矿床进行了详细的地质特征总结和白钨矿年代学研究,但对于矿区内钨矿的流体成矿特征没有相关研究。本文选择主成矿阶段的白钨矿及共生方解石,进行了流体包裹体测温、C-H-O同位素和激光拉曼成分测试。流体包裹体研究表明,矿床主成矿期流体包裹体均一温度集中于115.5℃~273.6℃,盐度为(0.33~22.01)%NaCl_(eqv),利用同位素矿物对,确定成矿温度约150℃。流体包裹体主要成分为H_(2)O。成矿期方解石δC V-PDB值为-0.80‰~1.4‰,成矿流体δ^(18) O_(V-SMOW)为2.09‰~9.56‰,δD_(V-SMOW)为-88.40‰~107.90‰。综合分析认为,该矿床成矿流体为低温岩浆热液体系并具有明显的天水混合特征,估算成矿深度约为2 km;流体的降温冷却和与天水混合可能是最终导致矿质沉淀成矿的主要机制。矿区钨矿体多以方解石-石英细脉型产出,是岩浆热液钨矿顶部的常见特征,矿区深部具有巨大找矿潜力。

Abstract In this paper, we show that a closed convex subset C of a Banach space is strongly proximinal （proximinal, resp.） in every Banach space isometrically containing it if and only if C is locally （weakly, resp.） compact. As a consequence, it is proved that local compactness of C is also equivalent to that for every Banach space Y isometrically containing it, the metric projection from Y to C is nonempty set-valued and upper semi-continuous.
