Dietary glutamine,glutamate,and aspartate supplementation improves hepatic lipid metabolism in post-weaning piglets

A previous study has demonstrated that early weaning significantly suppressed hepatic glucose metabolism in ***(Glu),aspartate(Asp)and glutamine(Gln)are major metabolic fuels for the small intestine and can alleviate weaning stress,and therefore might improve hepatic energy *** objective of this study was to investigate the effects of administration of Glu,Asp and Gln on the expression of hepatic genes and proteins involved in lipid metabolism in post-weaning ***-six weaned piglets were assigned to the following trea.me.ts:control diet(Control;basal diet+15.90 g/kg alanine);Asp,Gln and Glu-supplemented diet(Control+AA;basal diet+1.00 g/kg Asp+5.00 g/kg Glu+10.00 g/kg Gln);and the energy-restricted diet supplemented with Asp,Gln and Glu(energy^-+AA;energy deficient diet+1.00 g/kg Asp+5.00 g/kg Glu+10.00 g/kg Gln),Liver samples were obtained on d 5 and 21 *** fed energy^-+AA diet had higher liver mRNA abundances of acyl-CoA oxidase 1(ACOX1),succinate dehydrogenase(SDH),mitochondrial transcription factor A(TFAM)and sirtuin 1(SIRT1),as well as higher protein expression of serine/threonine protein kinase 11(LKB1),phosphor-acetyl-CoA carboxylase(P-ACC)and SIRT1 compared with piglets fed control diet(Pet increased liver malic enzyme 1(me1)and SIRT1 mRNA levels,as well as protein expression of LKBl and P-ACC on d 5 post-weaning(Peaning,compared to control group,Glu,Gln and Asp supplementation up-regulated the mRNA levels of ACOX1,me1 and SIRT1(Pese findings indicated that dietary Glu,Gln and Asp supplementation could improve hepatic lipid metabolism to some extent,which may provide nutritional intervention for the insufficient energy intake after weaning in piglets.

Simulated and reconstructed winter temperature in the eastern China during the last millennium

The reconstructed temperature anomalies in the eastern China were compared with the output from a 1000-year model simulation in an attempt to evaluate the model’s regional simulation skills and to understand the causes of climate change in China over the last millennium. The reconstructed data are the winter half-year temperature anomalies in the central region of eastern China (25°-40°N, east of 105°e) for the last 1000 years with a 30-year resolu- tion. The model used is the global atmosphere-ocean coupled climate model, eCHO-G, which was driven by time-varying external forcings including solar radiation, volcanic erup- tions, and greenhouse gas concentrations (CO2 and CH4) for the same period. The correlation coefficient between the simulated and reconstructed time series is 0.37, which is sta- tistically significant at a confidence level of 97.5%. The me- dieval Warm Period (MWP) during 1000-1300 A.D., the Little Ice Age (LIA) during 1300-1850 A.D. and the modern warming period after 1900 A.D. are all recognizable from both the simulated and reconstructed temperatures. The anomalies associated with the LIA and the modern warming simulated by the model are in good consistency with the re- constructed counterpart. In particular during the Maunder sun-spot minimum (1670-1710 A.D.), both the simulated and reconstructed temperature anomalies reach their min- ima without any phase difference. But in the earlier MWP, significant discrepancies exist between the simulation and the reconstruction, which might reflect the degrading quality of the reconstruction data. The range of the simulated anoma- lies (1.62 K) is comparable with that of reconstructed (2.0 K). 目的探讨胰岛素增敏剂联合达英-35治疗多囊卵巢综合征(PCOS)临床疗效。方法 100例PCOS随机分为对照组与观察组,每组50例。对照组单独采用达英-35进行治疗,观察组在此基础上采用胰岛素增敏剂进行治疗。比较两组临床疗效、性激素变化水平、排卵率及妊娠率、不良反应等。结果 1经治疗,观察组临床总有效率为86.00%,对照组临床总有效率为66.00%,两组临床疗效比较差异具有统计学意义(Pe2及T水平分别为(5.56±1.20)IU/L、(11.65±3.73)IU/L、(2.45±1.61)、(16.87±4.02)ng/L、(68.02±13.41)pg/L及(1.71±0.34)pg/L,观察组治疗后上述水平分别为(4.03±0.56)IU/L、(8.23±1.68)IU/L、(1.43±0.44)、(13.01±2.76)ng/L、(53.71±10.25)pg/L及(0.67±0.09)pg/L,两组比较,差异均具有统计学意义(P<0.05);3对照组排卵率及妊娠率分别为54.00%及64.00%,均显著小于观察组(分别为80.00%及86.00%),差异有统计学意义(P<0.05);4两组均未出现不良反应。结论胰岛素增敏剂联合达英-35治疗PCOS,疗效显著,安全性高,值得临床推广及应用。

effect of Icosahedral Phase on Crystallographic Texture and mechanical Anisotropy of Mg–4%Li Based Alloys

Through investigating and comparing the microstructure and mechanical properties of the as-extruded Mg alloys Mg-4%Li and Mg-4%Li-6%Zn-l.2%Y （in wt%）, it demonstrates that although the formation of I-phase （Mg3Zn6Y, icosahedral structure） could weaken the crystallographic texture and improve the me- chanical strength, the mechanical anisotropy in terms of strength remains in Mg-4%Li-6%Zn-1.2%Y alloy. Failure analysis indicates that for the Mg-4%Li alloy, the fracture surfaces of the tensile samples tested along transverse direction （TD） contain a large number of plastic dimples, whereas the fracture surface exhibits quasi-cleavage characteristic when tensile samples were tested along extrusion direction （eD）. For the Mg-4%Li-6%Zn-I.2%Y alloy, typical ductile fracture surfaces can be observed in both ＂TD＂ and ＂eD＂ samples. Moreover, due to the zonal distribution of broken l-phase particles, the fracture surface of ＂TD＂ samples is characterized by the typical ＂woody fracture＂.

Influence of gastric inhibitory polypeptide on pentagastrinstimulated gastric acid secretion in patients with type 2 diabetes and healthy controls

AIM： Gastric inhibitory polypeptide is secreted from intestinal K-cells in response to nutrient ingestion and acts as an incretin hormone in human physiology. While animal experiments suggested a role for GIP as an inhibitor of gastric secretion, the GIP effects on gastric acid output in humans are still controversial. meTHODS： Pentagastrin was administered at an infusion rate of 1 μg . kg^-1 . h^-1 over 300 min in 8 patients with type 2 diabetes （2 female, 6 male, 54± 10 years, BMI 30.5 ± 2.2 kg/m^2; no history of autonomic neuropathy） and 8 healthy subjects （2/6, 46 ± 6 years., 28.9 ± 5.3 kg/ m^2）. A hyperglycaemic clamp （140 mg/dl） was performed over 240 min. Placebo, GIP at a physiological dose （1 pmol . kg^-1 . min^-1）, and GIP at a pharmacological dose （4 mol . kg^-1 . min^-1） were administered over 60 min each. Boluses of placebo, 20 pmol GIP/kg, and 80 pmol GIP/kg were injected intravenously at the beginning of each infusion period, respectively. Gastric volume, acid and chloride output were analysed in 15-min intervals. Capillary and venous blood samples were drawn for the determination of glucose and total GIP. Statistics were carried out by repeated-measures ANOVA and one-way ANOVA. ReSULTS： Plasma glucose concentrations during the hyperglycaemic clamp experiments were not different between patients with type 2 diabetes and controls. Steady-state GIP plasma levels were 61 ±8 and 79 ± 12 pmol/I during the low-dose and 327±35 and 327± 17 pmol/I during the high-dose infusion of GIP, in healthy control subjects and in patients with type 2 diabetes, respectively （P= 0.23 and p 0.99）. Pentagastrin markedly increased gastric acid and chloride secretion （P〈 0.001）. There were no significant differences in the rates of gastric acid or chloride output between the experimental periods with placebo or any dose of GIP. Factors Associated with Full Vaccination of Children Aged 12 to 23 Months in the Commune of Thiomby (Kaolack/Senegal)

Introduction: Data on the complete vaccination of children in rural areas and the factors associated with it are poorly known. Knowledge of these factors is necessary for the adoption of effective vaccination strategies. The aim of our study was to determine the proportion of children aged 12 to 23 months fully vaccinated before the age of 12 months in the commune of Thiomby and to identify associated factors. methods: A descriptive and analytical cross-sectional study was conducted from 15 January to 15 February 2020 in Thiomby among of children aged 12 to 23 months and their mothers/caregivers. The sampling was carried out in two-step clusters. Bivariate analysis was done with epi-Info version 7.***.2.16. Results: The sample included 380 mothers/caregivers with children aged on average 24.7 years. Among them, 93.2% were housewives, 29.4% had attended school and 12.8% had a monthly income of more than 100,000 CFA francs. In total, 296 children were fully inoculated i.e. 77.9% of children aged 12 - 23 months had received all the appropriate vaccines by the age of 12 months. In addition, 42% of mothers and babysitters had a good level of knowledge about vaccination (benefits, side effects, etc.). The primary source of information for mothers about vaccination was the midwife, with 88 percent of women being informed through this channel. The age of mothers less than or equal to 30 years would significantly reduce (p Conclusion: Factors such as a good level of knowledge of mothers and access to information through midwives during prenatal and postnatal consultations contribute to an improvement in complete vaccination coverage among children aged 12 to 23 months.

Prevalence, clinical features and trea.me.t of depression in Parkinson's disease: An update

Parkinson's disease(PD) is one of the most prevalent neurodegenerative diseases which typically affects individuals over 65 years. Although the symptomatology is predominantly motor, neuropsychiatric manifestations, e.g., depression, apathy, anxiety, and cognitive impairment occur in the course of the illness and can have a great impact on the quality of life in these patients. Parkinson's disease is commonly comorbid with depression with prevalence rates of depression, generally higher than those reported in general population. Depression in PD is frequently underestimated andconsequently undertreated, which have significant effects on the quality of life in these patients. The neurobiology of depression in PD is complex and involves alterations in dopaminergic, serotonergic, noradrenergic and possibly other neurotransmitter systems which are affected in the course of the disease. The tricyclic antidepressants and the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors are the two classes of antidepressant drugs used for depressive symptoms in PD. Several published studies suggested that both classes are of comparable efficacy. Other serotonergic antidepressants, e.g., nefazodone and trazodone have also been of benefit. meanwhile, there are limited data available on other drugs but these suggest a benefit from the serotonin and noradrenaline reuptake inhibitors such as mirtazapine, venlafaxine, atomoxetine and duloxetine. Some of the drugs used in symptomatic trea.me.t of PD, e.g., the irreversible selective inhibitors of the enzyme monoamine oxidase-B, rasagiline and selegiline as well as the dopamine receptor agonist pramipexole are likely to have direct antidepressant activity independent of their motor improving action. This would make these drugs an attractive option in depressed subjects with PD. Challenges of liver cancer:Future emerging tools in imaging and urinary biomarkers

Chronic liver disease has become a global health problem as a result of the increasing incidence of viral hepatitis, obesity and alcohol misuse. Over the past three decades, in the United Kingdom alone, deaths from chronic liver disease have increased both in men and in women. Currently, 2.5% of deaths worldwide are attributed to liver disease and projected figures suggest a doubling in hospitalisation and associated mortality by 2020. Chronic liver diseases vary for clinical manifestations and natural history, with some individuals having relatively indolent disease and others with a rapidly progressive course. About 30% of patients affected by hepatitis C has a progressive disease and develop cirrhosis over a 20 years period from the infection, usually 5-10 years after initial medical presentation. The aim of the current therapeutic strategies is preventing the progression from hepatitis to fibrosis and subsequently, cirrhosis. Hepatic steatosis is a risk factor for chronic liver disease and is affecting about the half of patients who abuse alcohol. Moreover non-alcoholic fatty liver disease is part of the metabolic syndrome, associated with obesity, hypertension, type Ⅱ diabetes mellitus and dyslipidaemia, and a subgroup of patients develops non-alcoholic steatohepatitis and fibrosis with subsequent cirrhosis. The strengths and pitfalls of liver biopsy are discussed and a variety of new techniques to assess liver damage from transient elastography to experimental techniques, such as in vitro urinary nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. Some of the techniques and tests described are already suitable for more widespread clinical application, as is the case with ultrasound-based liver diagnostics, but others, such as urinary metabonomics, requires a period of critical evaluation or development to take them from the research arena to clinical practice.

Bemisia tabaci adults from various host-plant species were collected from 31 regions across India.266 *** samples were first screened by RAPD-PCR to examine molecular variability and to select individuals with different ***-plant and region of collection were then used to select 25 individuals for PCR amplification and sequencing of their partial mitochondrial cytochrome oxidase subunit one（mtCOI）*** comparisons with mtCOI consensus sequences showed that the majority of these samples had 〈3.5% sequence divergence from groups currently termed Asia I,Asia II-5,Asia II-7,and Asia *** biotype-B *** from India clustered into the Middle east-Asia Minor 1 group.A new group of *** from Coimbatore,collected from pumpkin,was related most closely to the Asia I group（6.2% sequence divergence from the consensus Asia I sequence）.To increase our understanding of the epidemiology of tomato leaf curl disease（ToLCD）and the key *** genetic groups involved in virus spread,the indigenous Asia I and the exotic biotype-B population from South India were used to carry out transmission experiments using Tomato leaf curl Bangalore virus（ToLCBV）.The acquisition access periods（AAP）,inoculation access periods（IAP）,latent periods（LP）,and ToLCBV transmission efficiencies of the two populations were compared and the biotype-B had the more efficient transmission *** results are discussed in relation to recent changes in the epidemiology of tomato leaf curl disease in South India.

As serious but neglected public health problems, poor quality medicines, i.e. for antimalarial medicines, urged to be fought. One of the approaches is to consider the analytical chemistry and separative techniques. In this study, a generic liquid chromatographic method was firstly developed for the purpose of screening 8 antimalarial active ingredients, namely amodiaquine (AQ), piperaquine (PPQ), sulfalene (SL), pyrimethamine (PM), lumefantrine (LF), artesunate (AS), artemether (AM) and dihydroartemisinine (DHA) by applying Doe/DS optimization strategy. Since the method was not totally satisfying in terms of peak separation, further experiments were undergone applying the same development strategy while splitting the 8 ingredients into five groups. excellent prediction was observed prior to correlation between retention times of predicted and observed separation conditions. Then, a successful geometric transfer was realized to reduce the analysis time focusing on the simultaneous quantification of two WHO’s recommended ACTs in anti-malarial fixed-dose combination (AM-LF and AS-AQ) in tablets. The optimal separation was achieved using an isocratic elution of methanol-ammonium formate buffer (pH 2.8;10 mM) (82.5:17.5, v/v) at 0.6 ml/min through a C18 column (100 mm × 3.5 mm, 3.5 μm) thermostated at 25℃. After a successful validation stage based on the total error approach, the method was applied to determine the content of AM/LF or AS/AQ in seven brands of antimalarial tablets currently marketed in West, Central and east Africa. Satisfying results were obtained compared to the cla.me. contents.
