Spermiogram and sperm head morphometry assessed by multivariate cluster analysis results during adolescence （12-18 years） and the effect of varicocele

This work evaluates sperm head morphometric characteristics in adolescents from 12 to 18 years of age, and the effect of varicocele. Volunteers between 150 and 224 months of age （mean 191, n = 87）, who had reached oigarche by 12 years old, were recruited in the area of Barranquilla, Colombia. Morphometric analysis of sperm heads was performed with principal component （PC） and discriminant analysis, Combining seminal fluid and sperm parameters provided five PCs： two related to sperm morphometry, one to sperm motility, and two to seminal fluid components. Discriminant analysis on the morphometric results of varicocele and nonvaricocele groups did not provide a useful classification matrix. Of the semen-related PCs, the most explanatory （40%） was related to sperm motility. Two PCs, including sperm head elongation and size, were sufficient to evaluate sperm morphometric characteristics. Most of the morphometric variables were correlated with age, with an increase in size and decrease in the elongation of the sperm head. For head size, the entire sperm population could be divided into two morphometric subpopulations, SP1 and SP2, which did not change during adolescence. In general, for varicocele individuals, SP1 had larger and more elongated sperm heads than SP2, which had smaller and more elongated heads than in nonvaricocele men. In summary, sperm head morphometry assessed by CASA-Morph and multivariate cluster analysis provides a better comprehension of the ejaculate structure and possibly sperm function. Morphometric analysis provides much more information than data obtained from conventional semen analysis.

On Generic Well-posedness of Restricted Chebyshev Center Problems in Banach Spaces

Let B （resp. K, BC,KC） denote the set of all nonempty bounded （resp. compact, bounded convex, compact convex） closed subsets of the Banach space X, endowed with the Hausdorff metric, and let G be a nonempty relatively weakly compact closed subset of X. Let B° stand for the set of all F ∈B such that the problem （F, G） is well-posed. We proved that, if X is strictly convex and Kadec, the set KC ∩ B° is a dense Gδ-subset of KC ／ G. Furthermore, if X is a uniformly convex Banach space, we will prove more, namely that the set B ／B° （resp. K ／ B°, BC ／B°, KC ／ B°） is a-porous in B （resp. K,BC, KC）. Moreover, we prove that for most （in the sense of the Baire category） closed bounded subsets G of X, the set K ／ B° is dense and uncountable in K.

Human prostate cancer heterotransplants： a review on this experimental model

A common model used for preclinical research was in vitro human tumor cell culture. An alternative model was the direct implantation of a unique patient＇s tumor biopsy specimens into immunodeficient host mice. Published data from PubMed （http：//***） and Current Contents Connect databases （http：//***/ products_services/science/science_roducts/a-z/current_contents_connect） were reviewed. Prostate cancer （PCa） heterotransplantation was evaluated using histopathology, morphology, cell differentiation, DNA content, tumor marker expression, metastases, tumor kinetics, tumor take rate and tumor vasculature in the first tumor heterotransplant. The heterotransplanted tumor retained the biological properties of the original tumor, such as morphology, degree of differentiation, pathology, secretory activity, expression of tumor markers and human vasculature. Human PCa heterotransplants have considerable experimental advantages over cell culture following xenotransplantation.

Small-cell neuroendocrine carcinoma of the prostate： are heterotransplants a better experimental model？

Small-cell neuroendocrine carcinoma of the prostate （SCNCP） is an uncommon type of prostate cancer. However, it is of clinical importance because it is one of the most aggressive tumors of the prostate with a very poor prognosis. There exist few artificially cultured tumor cell lines to study SCNCE Then, another approach to that study consists in the use of fresh tumor tissue obtained from patients and its heterotransplantation into host mice. The purpose of this review is to integrate data from more than 20 years of heterotransplantation research in the study of small-cell neuroendocrine carcinoma of the prostate （SCNCP）. Heterotransplantation has provided data regarding the histopathology, karyotype, DNA content, cell cycle frequency, tumor markers, androgen receptor expression, metastasis and take rate of this prostate disease. When possible, comparisons between original in situ specimens removed from patients and heterotransplanted tissue from host mice have been made. There are advantages, as well as limitations, that have been identified for SCNCP heterotransplants versus xenotransplantation of cultured cells. Overall, heterotransplanted tumors are better than conventional tumor xenografts at retaining tumor morphology, pathology, secretory activity and expression of tumor markers of the patient＇s original specimen. Furthermore, heterotransplanted tissue preserves the three-dimensional tumor architecture of the prostate to maintain critical stromal-epithelial cell interactions.

Application of None Cement Aluminamagnesia Gunning Mix with Special High Reactive Alumina in Steel Ladles

During calcining the aluminum hydroxide according to the Bayer process in a rotary kiln,the process of incomplete conversion to alpha alumina by soft calcination leads to a special intermediate alumina product containing microcrystalline of primary crystal alpha alumina particles less than 0.4μm,and other alumina phases with finer microcrystalline of less than 0.2μm *** special alumina powder has similar properties to silica fume or clay,such as high surface area and reactivity,fast wetting,low water demand and high *** can partially or completely replace silica fume and clay in dry gunning *** works towards improving the high temperature resistance of the gunning material matrix as well as the corrosion resistance and service life of the gunning *** application results show that:the ladle cementfree alumina-magnesia dry gunning mix with this special alumina sub-micro powder,compared with traditional dry gunning materials,has lower rebound loss(<10%),better adhesion rate,higher corrosion resistance and peeling resistance;and it can replace the veneering casting repair to achieve the similar performance.A further improvement goal is to replace the initial casting linings,thus this concept will give a new revolution to the monolithic steel ladles.

目的　研究在流体切应力作用下表达突变的细胞与固着的血管性血友病因子 (vWF)相互作用中GPⅠbα突变 (A15 6V)的意义。方法　在GPⅠbαcDNA中直接诱发的突变克隆到哺乳类表达载体pDX的EcoRⅠ位点 ,随后将突变的cDNA转染在CHOβⅨ细胞。人的vWF通过甘氨酸和氯化钠沉淀及在Sepharose 4B柱分离的方法从血液冷沉淀制剂中纯化。纯化的vWF固着在盖玻片上 ,在平行板液流室中进行细胞滚动研究 ,用相差电视显微镜观察。结果　表达GPⅠb Ⅸ Ⅴ复合物的CHO细胞能粘附于并滚动在固着的vWF表面 ,当用表达A15 6V突变的细胞进行试验时 ,这些细胞虽然能粘附于并滚动在固着的vWF表面 ,但是它们滚动的速度明显快于其野生型 ,这表明突变的GPⅠbα与vWF之间的受体配体键的解离速度受损 ,单克隆抗体AN5 1与突变的GPⅠbα结合明显减少 ,表明A15 6V突变产生了GPⅠbα氨基端配体结合区的构象改变。结论　突变致使A15 6V突变细胞与固着的vWF产生较快的解离速度。突变的多肽在GPⅠbα氨基端配体结合区发生构象改变。

Efficient Graph-based Genetic Programming Representation with Multiple Outputs

In this work, we explore and study the implication of having more than one output on a genetic programming （GP） graph-representation. This approach, called multiple interactive outputs in a single tree （MIOST）, is based on two ideas. First, we defined an approach, called interactivity within an individual （IWI）, which is based on a graph-GP representation. Second, we add to the individuals created with the IWI approach multiple outputs in their structures and as a result of this, we have MIOST. As a first step, we analyze the effects of IWI by using only mutations and analyze its implications （i.e., presence of neutrality）. Then, we continue testing the effectiveness of IWI by allowing mutations and the standard GP crossover in the evolutionary process. Finally, we tested the effectiveness of MIOST by using mutations and crossover and conducted extensive empirical results on different evolvable problems of different complexity taken from the literature. The results reported in this paper indicate that the proposed approach has a better overall performance in terms of consistency reaching feasible solutions.

Coordination Nanoparticles Formed by Fluorescent 2-Aminopurine and Au^(3+): Stability and Nanozyme Activities

Nucleobase-metal coordination polymers(CPs)have been the target of much recent research owing their interesting properties and ease of *** nucleobases are nonfluorescent,and 2-aminopurine(2AP)is a strongly fluorescent analog of *** this work,we compared the CPs formed by adenine,2AP and adenosine with various *** Au3+produced CP nanoparticles with both adenine and *** products were similar in terms of size,suggesting that the position of the exocyclic amine is unimportant for coordination with *** 2AP is fluorescent,the dissolution of the nanoparticles in the presence of various chemicals including KCN,GSH,iodide,bromide and chloride,was studied and compared to fluorescent adenosine-Au *** appears that the 2AP CP was more robust than the adenosine one since even chloride can quench the fluorescence of the adenosine/Au ***,the adenine and 2AP nanoparticles exhibited weak oxidase-like activity for oxidation of TMB possibly by the Au3+exposed on the surface.
