in this paper, the effect of water vapor removal on methanol synthesis capa.ity from syngas in a fixed-bed membrane reactor is studied considering long-term catalyst deactiva.ion. A dyna.ic heterogeneous one-dimensional mathema.ical model that is composed of two sides is developed to predict the performance of this configura.ion. in this configura.ion, conventional methanol reactor is supported by an alumina.ilica composite membrane layer for water vapor removal from reaction zone. To verify the accuracy of the considered model and assumptions, simula.ion results of the conventional methanol reactor is compared with the industrial plant data under the same process condition. The membrane reactor improves catalyst life time and enhances CO2 conversion to methanol by overcoming the limita.ion imposed by thermodyna.ic equilibrium. This configura.ion has enhanced the methanol production capa.ity about 4.06% compared with the industrial methanol reactor during the production time.

While reliance on renewable energy resources has become a rea.ity, there is still a need to deploy greener and more sustainable methods in order to achieve sustainable development goals. indeed, green hydrogen is currently believed to be a reliable solution for global warming and the pollution challenges a.ising from fossil fuels, ma.ing it the resilient fuel of the future. However, the sustaina.ility of green hydrogen technologies is yet to be achieved. in this context, genera.ion of green hydrogen with the aid of deep eutectic solvents(DESs) as green mixtures has been demonstrated as a promising research area. This systema.ic review article covers green hydrogen genera.ion through water splitting and biomass fermenta.ion when DESs are utilized within the genera.ion process. it also discusses the incorpora.ion of DESs in fuel cell technologies. DESs can play a va.iety of roles such as solvent, electrolyte, or precursor;colloidal suspension and reaction medium;galva.ic replacement, shape-controlling, decora.ion, or extractive agent;finally oxidant. These roles are relevant to several methods of green hydrogen genera.ion, including electrocatalysis, photocatalysis, and fermenta.ion. As such, it is of utmost importance to screen potential DES formula.ions and determine how they can function in and contribute throughout the green hydrogen mobility stages. The rea.iza.ion of super green hydrogen genera.ion stands out as a pivotal milestone in our journey towards achieving a more sustainable form of development;DESs have great potential in ma.ing this milestone achievable. Overall, incorpora.ing DESs in hydrogen genera.ion constitutes a promising research area and offers potential scala.ility for green hydrogen production, storage,transport, and utiliza.ion.

A simplified kinetic model for the oxida.ive coupling of methane over a La0.6Sr0.4Co0.8Fe0.2O3-δ nanocatalyst is presented. The kinetic model was developed by experimental data.in a catalytic micro-reactor covering a wide range of reaction conditions （0.04〈PO2〈0.15 atm, 0.2〈PCH4〈0.85 atm, 800〈T 〈900 °C）. Power law rate expressions were used for all reactions. The reaction scheme proposed in this work includes the most important reactions of oxida.ive coupling of methane and those involved in most of the available mecha.isms in the literature. From the experimental data, kinetic parameters, i.e., pre-exponential factors, activa.ion energies and power law exponents, were estimated. The compa.ibility of model results with experimental data was investigated and the accuracy of the model prediction was evaluated. Rates of methane consumption, C2＋ and COx forma.ion, methane conversion, and C2＋ selectivity and yield were compared with experimental data using presented kinetics. The kinetic model was also compared with four previous kinetic models in terms of methane conversion.

Cremaster muscle thickening: the anatomic difference in men with testicular retraction due to hyperactive cremaster muscle reflex

The objective was to assess whether men suffering from testicular retraction secondary to hyperactive cremaster muscle reflex havean anatomic difference in the thickness of the cremaster muscle in compa.ison to men who do not have retraction. From March2021 to December 2021, 21 men underwent microsurgical subinguinal cremaster muscle release (MSCMR) on 33 sperma.ic cordunits, as 12 of them had bilateral surgery, at Surgicare of South Austin Ambulatory Surgery Center in Austin, TX, USA. Duringthat same time frame, 36 men underwent subinguinal microsurgical va.icocele repair on 41 sperma.ic cord units, as 5 werebilateral for infertility. The thickness of cremaster muscles was measured by the opera.ing surgeon in men undergoing MSCMRand va.icocele repair. Compa.ison was made between the cremaster muscle thickness in men with testicular retraction due toa hyperactive cremaster muscle reflex undergoing MSCMR and the cremaster muscle thickness in men undergoing va.icocelerepair for infertility with no history of testicular retraction, which served as an anatomic control. The mean cremaster musclethickness in men who underwent MSCMR was significantly greater than those undergoing va.icocele repair for infertility, witha mean cremaster muscle thickness of 3.9 (standard devia.ion [s.d.]: 1.2) mm vs 1.0 (s.d.: 0.4) mm, respectively. Men withtesticular retraction secondary to a hyperactive cremaster muscle reflex demonstrate thicker cremaster muscles than controls,those undergoing va.icocele repair. An anatomic difference may be a beginning to understanding the pathology in men whostruggle with testicular retraction.

Pancrea.ic surgery for ma.ignancy is recognized as challenging for the surgeons and risky for the pa.ientsdue to consistent periopera.ive morbidity and morta.ity. Furthermore, the oncological long-term results are largely disappointing, even for those pa.ients who experience an uneventfully hospital stay. Nevertheless, surgery still remains the cornerstone of a multidisciplinary treatment for pancrea.ic cancer. in order to ma.imize the benefits of surgery, the advent of both laparoscopy and robotics has led many surgeons to treat pancrea.ic cancers with these new methodologies. The reduction of postopera.ive complica.ions, length of hospital stay and pain, together with a shorter interval between surgery and the beginning of adjuvant chemotherapy, represent the potential advantages over conventional surgery. Lastly, a better cosmetic result, although not crucial in any cancerous pa.ient, could also play a role by improving overall well-being and pa.ient self-perception. The laparoscopic approach to pancrea.ic surgery is, however, difficult in inexperienced hands and requires a dedicated training in both advanced laparoscopy and pancrea.ic surgery. The recent large diffusion of the da Vinci® robotic platform seems to fa.ilitate many of the technical maneuvers, such as anastomotic biliary and pancrea.ic reconstructions, accurate lymphadenectomy, and vascular sutures. The two main pancrea.ic opera.ions, distal pancreatectomy and pancrea.icoduodenectomy, are approachable by a minimally inva.ive path, but more limited interventions such as enuclea.ion are also fea.ible. Nevertheless, a word of caution should be taken into account when considering the increa.ing costs of these newest technologies because the main concerns regarding these are the maintenance of all oncological standards and the lack of long-term follow-up. The Li/MgO catalyst and nanocatalyst were prepared by the incipient wetness impregna.ion and sol-gel method, respectively. The catalytic performance of the Li/MgO catalyst and nanocatalyst on oxida.ive coupling of methane was compared. The catalysts prepared in two ways were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction, Brunauer-Emmett-Teller surface and transmission electron microscope. The catalyst was tested at temperature of 973-1073 K with constant total pressure of 101 kPa. Experimental results showed that Li/MgO nanocatalyst in the oxida.ive coupling of methane would result in higher conversion of methane, higher selectivity, and higher yield of main products （ethane and ethylene） compared to ordinary catalyst. The results show the improved influence of nanoscale Li/MgO catalyst performance on oxida.ive coupling of methane.

in this study, ra.ial flow moving bed reactors for isobutane dehydrogena.ion have been modeled and simulated heterogeneously based on mass and energy conserva.ion laws. The considered reaction networks in the model are isobutene dehydrogena.ion as main reaction, and hydrogenolysis, propane dehydrogena.ion as well as coke forma.ion as side reactions that all occur on the catalyst surface. Then, the process condition has been optimized to produce more isobutene under steady state condition. To prove the accuracy of the considered mathema.ical model and assumptions, simula.ion results are compared with the plant data. As a powerful method in the global optimiza.ion, the genetic algorithm has been used to optimize the considered objective function. The isobutane conversion and isobutene selectivity under optimal conditions are about 40.1% and 91%, respectively.

Air pollution is one of the serious problems fa.ing the world. This is mainly due to production and consumption of fossil fuels. Sulphur dioxide (SO2) and oxides of nitrogen (NOx) emissions could affect human health and destroy vegeta.ion through a.id deposition and cause transboundary air pollution. Currently, there are no regional ambient SO2 and NOx regula.ions and control measures of many developing countries including GCC countries. This paper reviewed the experiences of the past a.id rain pollution problems in United States, Canada, Europe, Japan and China. in addition, the plausible control measures through applica.ion of air pollution abatement technologies, market based regula.ions were discussed. The study recommended that suitable and locally based measures could be adopted by GCC states to prevent future occurrence of a.id rain within the region and beyond.
