This paper describes severe plastic deforma.ion(SPD)procedures,which are utilized to form an ultra.ine-grained structure in metallic *** the SPD process,a solid material sample is subjected to very high loads without a significant change in sample *** the present work,the high-pressure torsion(HPT)process,as one of the SPD techniques,which achieves a high degree of deforma.ion and ensures refinement of the microstructure,will be discussed in more *** that grain size control is accepted as a method to obtain materials with desired characteristics,an overview of the properties of ultra.ine-grained tita.ium-based biomaterials to be used in medicine is ***,particular attention is dedicated to the influences of HPT process parameters,prima.ily hydrosta.ic pressure,and number of revolutions during torsion,on the grain size and physical and mecha.ical characteristics(modulus of elasticity,microhardness,and tensile properties),corrosion resistance,and biocompa.ibility of the tita.ium-based biomaterials.A review of the literature indicates that tita.ium-based materials obtained by the SPD process show improved mecha.ical and physical properties without losing biocompa.ibility and corrosion resistance,which suggests that these methods of obtaining implants are something that should be further developed in the future.

Understanding the neural underpinning of human gait and balance is one of the most pertinent challenges for 21st-century transla.ional neuroscience due to the profound impact that falls and mobility disturbances have on our a.ing *** and gait control does not happen automa.ically,as previously believed,but rather requires continuous involvement of central nervous *** effectively exert control over the body,the brain must integrate multiple streams of sensory informa.ion,including visual,vestibular,and somatosensory *** mecha.isms which underpin the integra.ion of these multisensory signals are the principal topic of the present *** multisensory integra.ion theories focus on how failure of cognitive processes thought to be involved in multisensory integra.ion leads to falls in older *** empha.is,however,has been placed on specific contributions of individual sensory moda.ities to multisensory integra.ion processes and cross-modal interactions that occur between the sensory moda.ities in rela.ion to gait and *** the present work,we review the contributions of somatosensory,visual,and vestibular moda.ities,along with their multisensory intersections to gait and balance in older adults and pa.ients with Parkinson’s *** also review evidence of vestibular contributions to multisensory temporal binding windows,previously shown to be highly pertinent to fall risk in older ***,we relate multisensory vestibular mecha.isms to potential neural substrates,both at the level of neurobiology(concerning positron emission tomography ima.ing)and at the level of electrophysiology(concerning electroencephalography).We hope that this integra.ive review,dra.ing influence across multiple subdisciplines of neuroscience,paves the way for novel research directions and therapeutic neuromodulatory approaches,to improve the lives of older adults and pa.ients with neurodegenera.ive diseases.

A procedure of Ni, Cr, Mn, Co, and Mo (Me) transfer onto iron substrate in ionic-electronic melts LiCl-Li, CaCl2-Ca, and BaCl2-Ba was elaborated and the transport processes were studied. The saturated vapor pressure of these ionic-electronic melts is as low as enabled working at atmosphere pressure in an inert media up to 1000 ℃.Armco iron was used as a substrate because it practically does not interact with lithium, calcium, and ba.ium. The metals-diffusants were put into the melts in the form of a powder. The complete satura.ion of the melts with lithium, calcium, and ba.ium was ensured by a preceding contact of a molten salt with an excess of Li, Ca, or Ba before loa.ing of *** reactions take place despite the metals and iron were separated from each other by the molten salt. The quantity of the metals transfered was determined by the change in mass before and after experiments, by microprobe analysis, and x-ra.ing of the iron surface layer. The experiments were carried out at 900, 950 and 1000℃ during 5, 10, 15 and 20 *** the first stage of the process the forma.ion of the ionic-electronic melt occurs. For example, dissolution of calcium in the case of the system CaCl2-Ca.is mainly proceeded in the form of one-valent ca.ions: Ca + Ca2+()Ca+. As soon as the metal-diffusance is immersed into the melt, its dissolution in the form of nega.ive ions takes place: Me + Ca+() Me-+ Ca2+. in the vicinity of the iron substrate the last equilibrium will shift to the left genera.ing a solid solution or intermetallide. The thickness of the diffusion layer rises as the temperature and satura.ion time increase. The obtained coverings were 20-60 (m thick,and their surface layer contained 15%-80% (mass fraction) of the *** the composition of the melt and the procedure of the coverings prepara.ion in ionic-electronic melts have been patented (Patent RU2058422, 1996, pr. 30.09.93).

Wilson’s disease(WD)is an autosomal recessive inherited disorder of hepa.ic copper *** can be present in different clinical conditions,with the most common ones being liver disease and neuropsychiatric *** cases present symptoms atist in the literature on pa.ients in whom the disease presented beyond this *** this report,we present a case of late onset fulminant WD in a 58-year-old pa.ient in whom the diagnosis was established clinically,by genetic analysis of the ATP7B gene disclosing rare muta.ions(G1099S and c.1707+3ins T)as well as by high hepa.ic copper *** also reviewed the relevant *** diagnosis of WD with late onset presenta.ion is ea.ily *** diagnostic features and the geneticbackground in pa.ients with late onset WD are not different from those in pa.ients with early onset WD,except for the *** treatments for this disorder that can be fatal are available and will prevent or reverse many ma.ifesta.ions if the disease is discovered early.
