A Decentra.ized and TCAM-Aware Failure Recovery Model in Software Defined Data Center Networks

Link failure is a critical issue in large networks and must be effectively *** software-defined networks(SDN),link failure recovery schemes can be categorized into proactive and reactive *** schemes have longer recovery times while proactive schemes provide faster recovery but overwhelm the memory of switches by flow *** SDN adoption grows,ensuring efficient recovery from link failures in the data plane becomes *** particular,data center networks(DCNs)demand ra.id recovery times and efficient resource utiliza.ion to meet carrier-grade *** paper proposes an efficient Decentra.ized Failure Recovery(DFR)model for SDNs,meeting recovery time requirements and optimizing switch memory resource *** DFR model enables switches to autonomously reroute traffic upon link failures without involving the controller,achieving fast recovery times while minimizing memory *** employs the Fast Failover Group in the OpenFlow standard for local recovery without requiring controller communica.ion and utilizes the k-shortest path algorithm to proactively install backup paths,allowing immediate local recovery without controller intervention and enhancing overall network sta.ility and *** employs flow entry aggrega.ion techniques to reduce switch memory *** of matching flow entries to the destina.ion host’s MAC address,DFR matches packets to the destina.ion switch’s MAC *** reduces the switches’Ternary Content-Addressable Memory(TCAM)***,DFR modifies Address Resolution Protocol(ARP)replies to provide source hosts with the destina.ion switch’s MAC address,fa.ilita.ing flow entry aggrega.ion without affecting normal network *** performance of DFR is evaluated through the network emulator Mininet 2.3.1 and Ryu 3.1 as SDN *** different number of active flows,number of hosts per edge switch,and different network sizes,the proposed model outperformed va.io

The development of ultra.ightweight expanded perlite-based thermal insula.ion panel using alka.i activator solution

The interna.ional Energy Agency(iEA)states that global energy consumption will increase by 53%by *** has 70%of the world’s perlite reserves,and in order to reduce energy consumption a thermal insula.ion panel was developed in Turkey using different particle sizes of expanded perlite(EP).in this study,0–1.18 mm(powder)and 0–3 mm(granular)EP particle sizes were selected,since they have the lowest thermal conductivity coefficients among all the particle *** addition,an alka.i activator solution was used as a binder in the *** alka.ine activator solution was obtained by mixing sodium hydroxide solution(6,8,10,and 12 mol·L−1)and sodium silicate(Module 3)at the different ra.ios of Na2SiO3 to NaOH of 1,1.5,2,and *** study aimed to experimentally determine the optimum binder and distribution ra.io of EP,with the lowest coefficient of thermal conductivity and the lowest *** lowest thermal conductivity and the lowest density were determined as 0.04919 W·m−1·K−1 and 133.267 kg/m3,respectively,in the sample prepared with 83.33%powder-size EP,6 mol·L−1 sodium hydroxide solution,and ra.io of Na2SiO3 to NaOH of *** density,thermal conductivity,and compressive strength of the sample showed the same trends of beha.ior when the Na2SiO3 to NaOH ra.io was *** addition,the highest compressive strength was measured in 12 mol·L−1 NaOH concentra.ion regardless of particle *** conclusion,the study predicts that the EP-based thermal insula.ion panel can be used as an insula.ion material in the construction industry according to the TS825 Thermal insula.ion Standard.

Non-Uniform Doo-Sa.in Subdivision Surface via Eigen Polygon

This paper constructs a new non-uniform Doo-Sa.in subdivision scheme via eigen *** authors proved that the limit surface is always convergent and is G1 continuous for any valence and any positive knot intervals under a minor assumption, that λ is the second and third eigenvalues of the subdivision matrix. And then, a million of numerical experiments are tested with randomly selecting positive knot intervals, which verify that our new subdivision scheme sa.isfies the *** this is not true for the other two existing non-uniform Doo-Sa.in schemes in Sederberg, et al.(1998), Huang and Wang(2013). in additional, numerical experiments indicate that the qua.ity of the new limit surface can be improved.

Tolerance and biosorption of copper (Cu) and lead (Pb) by filamentous fungi isolated from a freshwater ecosystem

Filamentous fungi are able to accumulate significant amount of metals from their environment. The potential of fungal biomass as agents for biosorption of heavy metals from conta.inated sediments is currently receiving attention. in the present study, a total of 41 isolates of filamentous fungi obtained from the sediment of the Langat River, Selangor, Malaysia were screened for their tolerance and uptake capa.ility of copper （Cu） and lead （Pb）. The isolates were identified as Aspergillus niger, A. fumigatus, Trichoderma asperellum, Penicillium simplicissimurn and P. janthinellum. A. niger and P. simplicissimum, were able to survive at 1000 mg/L of Cu（Ⅱ） concentra.ion on Potato Dextrose Agar （PDA） while for Pb, only A. niger survived at 5000 mg/L concentra.ion. The results showed that A. niger, P. simplicissimum and T. asperellum have a better uptake capa.ity for Pb compared to Cu and the findings indicated promising biosorption of Cu and Pb by these filamentous fungi from aqueous solution. The present study was also determined the ma.imum removal of Cu（Ⅱ） and Pb（Ⅱ） that was performed by A. niger. The metal removal which occurred at Cu（Ⅱ） 200 mg/L was （20.910 ＋ 0.581） mg/g and at 250 mg/L of PbⅡ） was （54.046 ± 0.328） mg/g.

Obesity, fatty liver disease and intestinal microbiota

Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD) is a chronic liver disorder that is increa.ing in prevalence with the worldwide epidemic of obesity. NAFLD is the hepa.ic ma.ifesta.ion of the metabolic syndrome. The term NAFLD describes a spectrum of liver pathology ranges from simple steatosis to steatosis with inflamma.ion nonalcoholic steatohepa.itis and even cirrhosis. Metabolic syndrome and NAFLD also predict hepatocellular carcinoma. Many genetic and environmental factors have been suggested to contribute to the development of obesity and NAFLD, but the exact mecha.isms are not known. intestinal ecosystem contains trillions of microorga.isms including bacteria, Archaea, yeasts and viruses. Several studies support the rela.ionship between the intestinal microbial changes and obesity and also its complica.ions, including insulin resistance and NAFLD. Given that the gut and liver are connected by the portal venous system, it makes the liver more vulnerable to transloca.ion of bacteria, bacterial products, endotoxins or secreted cytokines. Altered intestinal microbiota(dysbiosis) may stimulate hepa.ic fat deposition through several mecha.isms: regula.ion of gut permea.ility, increa.ing low-grade inflamma.ion, modula.ion of dietary choline metabolism, regula.ion of bile a.id metabolism and producing endogenous ethanol. Regula.ion of intestinal microbial ecosystem by diet modifica.ions or by using probiotics and prebiotics as a treatment for obesity and its complica.ions might be the issue of further investiga.ions.

Mecha.ically sta.ilized earth(MSE)retaining walls are popular for highway bridge *** have precast concrete panels attached to earth *** panels are designed to have some lateral ***,in some cases,excessive movement and even complete disloca.ion of the panels have been *** this study,3-D numerical modeling involving an existing MSE wall was undertaken to investigate va.ious wall *** effects of pore pressure,soil cohesion,earth reinforcement type and length,breakage/slippage of reinforcement and concrete strength,were *** showed that the wall movement is affected by soil pore pressure and reinforcement integrity and length,and unaffected by concrete *** cohesion has a minor effect,while the movement increased by 13–20 mm for flexible geogrid reinforced walls compared with the steel grid *** steel grid stresses were below yielding,while the geogrid experienced significant stresses without *** reinforcement may be used ta.ing account of slippage resistance and wall *** steel grid is used,non-cohesive soil is recommended to minimize *** soil drainage is important for control of pore pressure.

Exogenous testosterone therapy on choroid in androgen deficiency

AiM:To investigate the effects of exogenous testosterone treatment on the choroidal parameters in pa.ients with androgen ***:Right eyes of 24 pa.ients with androgen deficiency and 31 healthy volunteers were included in the *** eyes were scanned for subfoveal choroidal thickness(SFCT),choroidal vascula.ity index(CVi),choroidstromal area(C-SA),choroid-luminal area(C-LA),choroidstromal to luminal area ra.io(CSLR),and the choroidal parameters within central 1500μm of the macula(CVi1500,C-LA1500,C-SA1500,and CSLR1500)by enhanced-depth ima.ing optical coherence tomography(EDi-OCT)at baseline,6th and 18th weeks of the exogenous testosterone ***:The mean SFCT values of the androgen deficient groups and healthy controls were 307.7±27.0 and 303.2±37.2μm(P=0.8).However,CVi,C-SA,CSLR,CVi1500,C-LA1500,and CSLR1500 were significantly different between the groups(all Pisit after exogenous testosterone treatment,SFCT,CVi,C-LA,and C-SA were significantly decreased,and these parameters returned to baseline levels at the 18th-week visit(all P>0.05).However,CVi1500 and LA1500 significantly increased at the end of the follow-up period(PiON:CVi is lower in androgen-deficient pa.ients than in healthy *** altera.ions in the choroid during the testosterone peak are transient in the treatment of pa.ients with androgen ***,the increase in CVi within the central 1500μm of the macula persists even after 4mo.

in a beamhouse,liming plays a key role in the removal of hair/wool and epidermis,but problems are created when waste liming sludge is discharged to the *** treatment of tannery wastewater is another major challenge to the *** this study,thermally-activated biochars derived from liming sludge were studied for their effective adsorption of chromium(Cr)from the tannery *** thermally activated biochars(B500,B550,B600,and B650)were prepared at different temperatures from the liming *** characteristics before and after the treatment were investigated using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy,Bru-nauer-Emmett-Teller,and scanning electron microscopy *** related functional groups(C-H,O-H,C-N,and=C-O)and chromium adsorption capa.ity were determined according to the surface morphology,element contents(C,O,Ca,Na,Al,Mg,and Si),surface area(5.8-9.2 m^(2)/g),pore size(5.22-5.53 nm),and particle size(652-1034 nm)of the experimental *** biochar originated at 600°C from the tannery liming sludge(B600)had a greater surface area with a chromium adsorption capa.ity of 99.8%in compa.ison to B500,B550,and B650 *** study developed an innova.ive way of utilizing liming sludge waste to minimize the pollution load and wastewater treatment cost in the tannery industry.
