in safety-critical systems such as transporta.ion aircraft, redundancy of actuators is introduced to improve fault tolerance. How to make the best use of remaining actuators to allow the system to continue achieving a desired opera.ion in the presence of some actuators failures is the main subject of this paper. Considering that many dyna.ical systems, including flight dyna.ics of a transporta.ion aircraft, can be expressed as an input affine nonlinear system, a new state repre- senta.ion is adopted here where the output dyna.ics are related with virtual inputs associated with the intended opera.ion. This representa.ion, as well as the distribution matrix associated with the effectiveness of the remaining opera.ional actuators, allows us to define different levels of fault tol- erant governa.ility with respect to actuators＇ failures. Then, a two-stage control approach is devel- oped, lea.ing frst to the inversion of the output dyna.ics to get nominal values for the virtual inputs and then to the solution of a linear quadra.ic （LQ） problem to compute the solicita.ion of each opera.ional actuator. The proposed approach is applied to the control of a transporta.ion air- craft which performs a sta.ilized roll maneuver while a partial failure appears. Two fault scena.ios are considered and the resulting performance of the proposed approach is displayed and discussed.

Understanding the neural underpinning of human gait and balance is one of the most pertinent challenges for 21st-century transla.ional neuroscience due to the profound impact that falls and mobility disturbances have on our a.ing *** and gait control does not happen automa.ically,as previously believed,but rather requires continuous involvement of central nervous *** effectively exert control over the body,the brain must integrate multiple streams of sensory informa.ion,including visual,vestibular,and somatosensory *** mecha.isms which underpin the integra.ion of these multisensory signals are the principal topic of the present *** multisensory integra.ion theories focus on how failure of cognitive processes thought to be involved in multisensory integra.ion leads to falls in older *** empha.is,however,has been placed on specific contributions of individual sensory moda.ities to multisensory integra.ion processes and cross-modal interactions that occur between the sensory moda.ities in rela.ion to gait and *** the present work,we review the contributions of somatosensory,visual,and vestibular moda.ities,along with their multisensory intersections to gait and balance in older adults and pa.ients with Parkinson’s *** also review evidence of vestibular contributions to multisensory temporal binding windows,previously shown to be highly pertinent to fall risk in older ***,we relate multisensory vestibular mecha.isms to potential neural substrates,both at the level of neurobiology(concerning positron emission tomography ima.ing)and at the level of electrophysiology(concerning electroencephalography).We hope that this integra.ive review,dra.ing influence across multiple subdisciplines of neuroscience,paves the way for novel research directions and therapeutic neuromodulatory approaches,to improve the lives of older adults and pa.ients with neurodegenera.ive diseases.

Gastric cancer research in Mexico:A public health priority

This study aimed review studies conducted on Mexican pa.ients diagnosed with gastric cancer and/or diseases associated with its development,in which at least one Mexican institute has participated,and to assess their contributions to the primary and secondary prevention of this disease.A search of the Medline database was conducted using the following keywords:gastric/stomach cancer,*** of the Mexican popula.ion were selected in which at least one Mexican institute had participated and where the findings could support public policy proposals directed towards the primary or secondary prevention of gastric *** the148 studies found in the Medline database,100 were discarded and 48 were *** to the analysis presented,these studies were classified as:epidemiology of gastric cancer(5/48);risk factors and protectors rela.ing to gastric cancer(9/48);rela.ionship between Helicobacter pylori and pathologies associated with gastric cancer and the development of the disease(16/48);rela.ionship between the Epstein-Barr virus and pathologies associated with gastric cancer and the development of the disease(3/48);molecular markers for the development of diseases associated with gastric cancer and gastric cancer(15/48).Mexico requires a program for the prevention and control of gastric cancer based on na.ional health *** should be produced by a multidisciplinary committee of experts who can propose actions that are relevant in the current na.ional *** few studies of gastric cancer conducted on the Mexican popula.ion in na.ional institutes highlight the poor connection that currently exists between the scientific community and the health sector in terms of resolving this health *** policies for health research should support projects with findings that can be translated into benefits for the *** review serves to identify na.ional research groups studying gastric cancer in the Mexican popula.ion.

SUMMARY： Rea.izing the potential of geothermal energy as a cheap, green, sustainable resource to provide for the planet＇s future energy demands that a key geophysical problem be solved first： how to develop and maintain a network of multiple fluid flow pathways for the time required to deplete the heat within a given region. We present the key components for micro-scale particle-based numerical modeling of hydraulic fracture, and fluid and heat flow in geothermal reservoirs. They are based on the latest developments of ESyS-Particle--the coupling of the lattice sofid model （LSM） to simulate the nonlinear dyna.ics of complex solids with the lattice Boltzmann method （LBM） applied to the nonlinear dyna.ics of coupled fluid and heat flow in the complex solid-fluid system. The coupled LSM/LBM can be used to simulate development of fracture systems in discontinuous media, elastic stress release, fluid injection and the consequent slip at joint surfaces, and hydraulic fractur- ing; heat exchange between hot rocks and water within flow pathways created through hydraulic fracturing; and fluid flow through complex, narrow, compact and gouge- or powder-f＇flled fracture and joint systems. We demonstrate the coupled LSM/LBM to simulate the fundamental processes listed above, which are all components for the genera.ion and sustaina.ility of the hot-fractured rock geothermal energy fracture systems required to exploit this new green-energy resource.
