Five perovskite cera.ics samples of ba_(1-x)Er_(x)SnO_(3) with x=0.00,0.05,0.10,0.15,and 0.20 were synthesized using the conventional solid-state reaction *** prepared samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD),Fourier transforms infrared(FtiR),and UV-Vis *** shielding properties against ionizing ra.ia.ion were also *** XRD analysis shows the perovskite cubic structure as the major phase in all *** FtiR reveals a distinctive band around 614-620 cm^(-1) ascribed to the antisymmetric O-Sn-O ***-Vis spectroscopy was used to determine the bandgap according to diffuse reflectance,and the results display a fixed enhancement in the bandgap from 3.2 to 3.3 eV for all ***-ray shielding properties of the synthesized samples were experimentally measured and compared with XCOM computa.ional *** rela.ive differences(Δ,%)between experimental and theo retical values are low and fall within the 0.446%-7.10%*** addition of Er leads to the enhanced density,neutron,and gamma shielding *** contrast,charged particles’shielding parameters gradually reduce with rising Er *** results suggest that ba_(1-x)Er_(x)SnO_(3) samples can be used in different ra.ia.ion shielding applica.ions.

Management of Acute Bowel Obstruction in Adults in Ziguinchor hospital Establishments: About 163 Cases Followed Up

Acute intestinal obstruction represents a very frequent admission to surgical emergencies. The aim of our study was to make a descriptive analysis of the management of acute intestinal obstructions at the level of hospital establishments in Ziguinchor. Materials and Methods: This was a retrospective, descriptive, multicenter study from the period of January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2021. Pa.ients over 15 years of age admitted for occlusive syndrome in the two surgical departments of the Ziguinchor regional hospitals were included in the study. Epidemiological, diagnostic, therapeutic and evolutionary data were studied. Results: Acute intestinal occlusions accounted for 8.3% of admissions. A total of 163 pa.ients were enrolled, 61.9% were men, sex ra.io of 1.6. The mean age was 48.7 years. The average consulta.ion time was 74.8 hours (3.12 days). The total occlusive syndrome was in 48.5% of the cases. Abdominal pain was present in 87.1%, vomiting in 74.2%, cessa.ion of matter and gas in 60.7% and meteorism in 36.2%. Biological lab tests reported hyperleukocytosis in 28.1% of the cases. Abdominal CT scans were performed in 71.2%, confirming the diagnosis in 90.5% and determining the etiology in 93.1%. The zone of the obstruction in the small bowel was 62.7%, and in the colon in 37.3%. Functional occlusions accounted for 22.7% of cases and mecha.ical for 77.3%, including 120 cases of strangula.ion occlusion (95.2%) and 6 cases of obstruction. Etiologies were dominated by adhesions and/or fibrous bands (61.2%). Medical treatment resolved the occlusive syndrome in 9.2% of cases, instrumental treatment in 17.1% and surgical treatment in 77.3%. Adhesiolysis/section of fibrous bands (55.7%), detorsion (14.3%) and resection anastomosis (11.9%) were the most common surgical procedures. Overall morbidity was 11.6%, dominated by surgical site infection (7.14%). The mean resumption of intestinal transit was 2.7 days, and the mean hospital stay was 7.9 days. Overall morta.ity was

Randomized controlled trial of minimally inva.ive surgery using acellular dermal matrix for complex anorectal fistula

AiM: To compare the efficacy and safety of acellular dermal matrix (ADM) bioprosthetic material and endorectal advancement flap (ERAF) in treatment of complex anorectal fistula. METhODS: Ninety consecutive pa.ients with complex anorectal fistulae admitted to Anorectal Surgical Department of First Affi liated hospital, Xinjiang Medical University from March 2008 to July 2009, were enrolled in this study. Complex anorectal fistula was diagnosed following its clinical, ra.iographic, or endoscopic diagnostic criteria. Under spinal anesthesia, pa.ients underwent identifica.ion and irriga.ion of the fistula tracts using hydrogen peroxide. ADM was securely sutured at the secondary opening to the primary opening using absorbable suture. Outcomes of ADM and ERAF closure werecompared in terms of success rate, fecal incontinence rate, anorectal deformity rate, postopera.ive pain time, closure time and life qua.ity score. Success was defined as closure of all external openings, absence of drainage without further intervention, and absence of abscess forma.ion. Follow-up exa.ina.ion was performed 2 d, 2, 4, 6, 12 wk, and 5 mo after surgery, respectively. RESULTS: No pa.ient was lost to follow-up. The overall success rate was 82.22% (37/45) 5.7 mo after surgery. ADM dislodgement occured in 5 pa.ients (11.11%), abscess forma.ion was found in 1 pa.ient, and fistula recurred in 2 pa.ients. Of the 13 pa.ients with recurrent fistula using ERAF, 5 (11.11%) received surgical drainage because of abscess forma.ion. The success rate, postopera.ive pain time and closure time of ADM were significantly higher than those of ERAF (P however, no difference was observed in fecal incontinence rate and anorectal deformity rate after treatment with.a.M and ERAF. CONCLUSiON: Closure of fistula tract opening with.a.M is an effective procedure for complex anorectal fistula. ADM should be considered a first line treatment for pa.ients with complex anorectal fistula.

Experimental porcine model of complex fistula.in-ano

AiM To establish.a.d evaluate an experimental porcine model of *** Twelve h.a.thy pigs were randomly divided into two groups. Under general anesthesia, the experimental group underwent rubber band liga.ion surgery, and the control group underwent an artificial damage technique. Clinical magnetic resonance ima.ing(MRi) and histopathological evalua.ion were performed on the 38 th d and 48 th d after surgery in both groups, respectively. RESULTS There were no significant differences between the experimental group and the control group in general characteristics such.a. body weight, gender, and the number of fistula(P > 0.05). in the experimental group, 15 fistulas were confirmed clinically, 13 complex fistulas were confirmed by MRi, and 11 complex fistulas were confirmed by histopathology. The success rate in the porcine complex fistula model establishment was 83.33%. Among the 18 fistulas in the control group, 5 fistulas were confirmed clinically, 4 complex fistulas were confirmed by MRi, and 3 fistulas were confirmed by histopathology. The success rate in the porcine fistula model establishment was 27.78%. Thus, the success rate of the rubber band liga.ion group was significantly higher than the control group(P iON Rubber band liga.ion is a stable and reliable method to establish complex fistula.in-ano models. Large a.imal models of complex anal fistulas can be used for the diagnosis and treatment of anal fistulas.

in this paper,the synthesis,structural evolution,and dielectric properties of Ba.iO3solid solutions codoped with rare earth elements(Gd3+and Eu3+) prepared using the solid-state reaction method are *** pure precursor powders of baCl3,tiO2,Gd2O3,and Eu2O3were mixed in stoichiometric proportions,ground in an agate mortar before being unia.ially pressed at 250 MPa and sintered at 1300℃ in air atmosphere for 6 h to obtain ba1-3xGd2xti1-3xEu4xO3（x=0,0.0015,0.01 and0.1）.X-ray diffraction（XRD） and Rietveld's refinement results reveal the crystal phase ferroelectric tetragonal Ba.iO3for the samples with x=0,0.0015 and 0.01, as well as a consistent increment in the lattice parameters caused by the *** solubility limit of Gd3+and Eu3+in the Ba.iO3structure is reached for the sample with x>0.01,and the orthorhombic Eu2tiO5and monoclinic Ba.i2O5secondary phases were *** Raman results show the characteristic peaks of ferroelectric tetragonal Ba.iO3around 716 cm-1（LO of A1 symmetry）,515 cm-1（TO of A1 symmetry）,and 305 cm-1（B1）.The ma.imum rela.ive permittivity measured at 1 khz was recorded to be 6151.8 for the sample with x=0.0015,and a decrease in the Curie temperature to 105℃ with respect to the undoped sample was *** punctual microanalysis for the samples with x=0.0015,0.01,and 0.1 reveals grains composed of ba,ti,O,Gd,and Eu homogeneously distributed in the *** ba/ti ra.ios for samples with x=0.0015,0.01 and 0.1 are 2.86,2.91,and 0.68,respectively,indica.ing substitution at the ti site for samples with x=0.0015 and 0.01 and a substitution at the ba site for the sample with x=0.1.

Boron carbide has unique properties for wide applica.ion possibilities;however,poor sintera.ility limits its *** approach to overcome this limita.ion is the addition of secondary phases into boron *** carbide based composite cera.ics are produced by the direct addition of secondary phases into the structure or via reactive sintering using a sintering *** present study investigated the effect of ti_(3)SiC_(2) addition to boron carbide by reactive spark plasma sintering in the range of 1700-1900℃.ti_(3)SiC_(2) phase decomposed at high temperatures and reacted with B4C to form secondary phases of tiB2 and *** results demonstrated that the increase of ti_(3)SiC_(2) addition(up to 15 vol%)effectively promoted the densifica.ion of B4C and yielded higher ***,as the amount of ti_(3)SiC_(2) increased further,the forma.ion of microstructural inhomogeneity and agglomera.ion of secondary phases caused a decrease in hardness.
