Objectives: Dia.etes is one of the most life-threa.ening chronic meta.olic disorders a.d is considered a.globa. hea.th problem due to its preva.ence a.d incidence. In Morocco, severa. herba. prepa.a.ions a.e utilized to trea. this disea.e. For this rea.on, the current study a.med to identify a.d to collect da.a.a.out the medicina. pla.ts utilized in folk medicine for the trea.ment of dia.etes in the Beni Mella. region of ***: a. ethnobota.ica. survey wa. ca.ried out a.ong 400 herba.ists, competent villa.ers a.d tra.itiona. hea.ers from the Beni Mella. region through direct interviews using a.semistructured ***: Forty-five medicina. pla.ts belonging to 25 fa.ilies were identified for their use in dia.etes trea.ment. Interview results showed tha. the most frequently used pla.ts were Olea.europa.a. Sa.via.officina.is, a.lium sa.ivum a.d Trigonella.foenum-gra.cum, with a.rela.ive frequency of cita.ion va.ues of24.3%, 23.0%, 22.5% a.d 20.5%, respectively. Moreover, in this study, the Fa.a.ea. fa.ily wa. the most commonly reported pla.t fa.ily, a.d the lea.es a.d roots were the most commonly used pa.ts, for the trea.ment of ***: The Beni Mella. region of Morocco ha. a. importa.t floristic biodiversity of pla.ts used to trea. dia.etes in tra.itiona. medicina. pra.tice. This result provides a.good da.a.a.e for pha.ma.ologica. screenings in the sea.ch for pla.t-ba.ed a.tidia.etic medica.ions.

The tra.smitta.ce (T) a.d the reflecta.ce (R) were mea.ured for (TMa.2ZnCl4 single crysta.s a.d hence the a.sorption coefficient (α), extinction coefficient (Kex.), refra.tive index (n), rea. a.d im-a.ina.y dielectric consta.ts (ε', ε") of (TMa.2ZnCl4 crysta.s were ca.cula.ed a. a.function of photon energy. The a.a.ysis of the spectra.beha.ior of the a.sorption coefficient in the a.sorption region revea.ed indirect tra.sition. The dispersion of the refra.tive index is discussed in terms of the sin-gle oscilla.or Wemple-DiDomenico model. The single oscilla.or energy (E0), the dispersion energy (ed), the la.tice dielectric consta.t (εL) a.d the ra.io of free cha.ge ca.rier concentra.ion to the ef-fective ma.s (N/m*) were estima.ed. The FTIR spectra.were recorded to study the functiona. groups of the a. grown a.d a.nea.ed sa.ples.

The hydrologica. models a.d simpli?ed methods of Sa.nt-vena.t equa.ions a.e used extensively in hydrologica. modeling, in pa.ticula. for the simula.ion of the ?ood routing. These models require speci?c a.d extensive da.a.tha. usua.ly ma.es the study of ?ood propa.a.ion a. a.duous pra.tice. We present in this work a.new model, ba.ed on a.tra.sfer function, this function is a.function of pa.a.etric proba.ility density, ha.ing a.physica. mea.ing with respect to the propa.a.ion of a.hydrologica. signa.. The inversion of the model is ca.ried out by a. optimiza.ion technique ca.led Genetic a.gorithm. It consists of evolving a.popula.ion of pa.a.eters ba.ed prima.ily on genetic recombina.ion opera.ors a.d na.ura. selection to?nd the minimum of a. objective function tha. mea.ures the dista.ce between observed a.d simula.ed da.a. The precision of the simula.ions of the proposed model is compa.ed with the response of the Ha.a.i model a.d the a.plica.ility of the model is tested on a.rea. ca.e, the N'Fis ba.in river, loca.ed in the High a.la. Occidenta., which presents elements tha. a.pea. fa.ora.le to the study of the propa.a.ion. The results obta.ned a.e very sa.isfa.tory a.d the simula.ion of the proposed model is very close to the response of the Ha.a.i model.

Role of urine studies in a.ymptoma.ic febrile neutropenic pa.ients presenting to the emergency depa.tment

Ba.KGROUND: The role of urine studies in the detection of urina.y tra.t infection(UTI) in febrile neutropenic pa.ients with urina.y symptoms(ha.ing a.urina.y ca.heter or ha.ing a.positive urine a.a.ysis) is ina.gua.le. However, the evidence is sca.ce rega.ding the indica.ion for urine studies in a.ymptoma.ic(i.e., without urina.y symptoms) pa.ients with febrile neutropenia.FN) presenting to the emergency depa.tment(ed). The a.m of this study is to eva.ua.e the need for obta.ning urine studies in a.ymptoma.ic febrile neutropenic ***: This wa. a.retrospective cohort study conducted on a.ult ca.cer pa.ients who presented to the ed with FN a.d ha. no urina.y symptoms. We included a.l ed presenta.ions of eligible pa.ients between Ja.ua.y 2013 a.d September 2018. Student's t-test a.d Wilcoxon ra.k-sum test were used for continuous da.a. while Chi-squa.e a.d Fisher's exa.t tests were used for ca.egorica. da.a. Pa.ticipa.ts were divided into two groups ba.ed on their urine culture(UC) results: nega.ive a.d positive UCs. Two cut-offs were used for positive UC results: ≥10~5 cfu/m L a.d ≥10~4 cfu/m ***: We included 284 pa.ients in our study. The a.e of our pa.ient popula.ion wa. 48.5±18.5 yea.s. More tha. two-thirds(68.7%) of pa.ients ha. severe neutropenia. while only 3.9% a.d 9.9% of the pa.ients ha. positive UCs a. ≥10~5 cfu/m L a.d ≥10~4 cfu/m L, respectively. UCs were expectedly positive in most pa.ients with urina.ysis(Ua. a.norma.ities. However, 27.3% a.d 32.1% of pa.ients with positive UCs a. ≥10~5 cfu/m L a.d ≥10~4 cfu/m L respectively ha. a.norma. Ua. CONCLUSIONS: In our study, the incidence of UTI in a.ult febrile neutropenic ca.cer pa.ients who present to the ed without urina.y symptoms is low. Consequently, routine urine testing ma. not be wa.ra.ted in this popula.ion, a. it a.ds unnecessa.y fina.cia. burdens on the pa.ients a.d dela.s timely ma.a.ement.
